Tired bad conversion property that reeks of failure. Bad lighting. Horrible food service. Area seems unsafe. Parking very expensive. Stay anywhere else. Graphics poor, Entrance awkward. Luggage carts kept locked. Filthy plastic plants hanging from the balcony. Inside the elevator light coves very dirty. Cove lights in dining are mostly burned out.

This property is not as nice as other Embassy Suites I have stayed in. The staff was nice and it is in a good location within walking distance to several restaurants. Room was very humid; we turned the temperature way down so it was cool ,but it was still humid, and that was the only solution that maintenance had for our discomfort. Balcony rail outside the rooms does not attach to the wall leaving a space large enough for a small child to squeeze through and fall. There were no towels nor so... Read more

I had occasion to stay at the Embassy Suites Winston-Salem twice in the same week this month. First, my husband and I stayed the last weekend in April, just for some time away. We arrived at the tail end of the manager's reception, just in time to grab a glass of wine before unloading the car. The manager's reception has limited options, but the red wine was fine. We had a nice room on the fifth floor, overlooking the street. Some of the rooms overlook the courtyard and public space. The roo... Read more

This was a short, just one night stay as did not want to drive for 15 hours. We were pleasantly surprised with the size of the room. They had messed up our reservation so they upgraded us to King size executive room. Living room was large enough to sleep 8 people alone and then the bedroom. Very centrally located hotel and helpful staff.

We always stay at Embassy suites when we travel. Everything was nice. Room spacious and clean. Breakfast was excellent, good quality items. at night the manager's welcome, with drinks and snacks was a lot better than at other Embassy suites.

Embassy Suites is always a fine Hotel and excellent value. The Winston-Salem site does not have the availability of free parking, a minor issue. The Hotel is within easy strolls of the quaint downtown area, shops and restaurants. Enjoyed our stay.

I thank Hilton Hotels for giving people visiting WS a place to stay. If you absolutely must stay in Winston Salem, then star here. However, The hotel, like Winston-Salem the city, is old, run down, and depressing. But it is still probably the best place to stay in the downtown area. WS has fallen far from its 1960's, cigarette fueled, pinnacle. Abandoned manufacturing makes up much of the downtown area. The hotel appears to be struggling with the same fate. I'm sure the lack of patronage (al... Read more

I very much like staying at Embassy Suites. The breakfast and evening reception are great. This hotel needs updating. It is clean but tired. It is very well located and the staff is very accommodating. I will definitely stay here again but the $15 per night parking fee is excessive in my opinion.

Great location. $10.00 daily parking. Lobby needs to be monitored better by security. Friendly staff. Bar area small and dated, generally, needs a facelift .Has the feel of an 70's hotel- explains the $129.00 nightly rate.

This is your typical convention center hotel. You can tell it's been used heavily. Rooms look recently renovated but the hotel is tired. Not your traditional embassy restaurant looks more like comfort inn. There is a bar but not much else, go to the Marriott for a good spot. Not sure why they didn't fix this, pool was in an odd place as well not ideal. The woman at the front desk was great upon check in but the folks after 8 weren't very friendly. I am a Diamond Member and stay in about 50 Hiltons per year and this one is very low on the list of ones I would return to. The hotel is very very tired and run down. Although it appears that they did a room and hallway renovation in the last 5 years - it is not being maintained. Our room was horrible from a maintenance perspective. From mold to poor quality furniture in the living room. Things are banged up and not fixed. What a shame.

I had numerous issues with this hotel during my 2-week business stay, and the staff addressed most of them, but quite frankly, I got tired of reporting them. The staff is above average overall. But the hotel needs some refreshing as it is very dated. Given that this is the only Hilton property in d/t WS, I will probably stay there again, but I will also look at other d/town properties and other Hilton properties within a short drive if I work in d/t WS again if this Embassy has not had a refr... We booked the 2-bedroom executive king suite which was very roomy. The A/C did not cool the king bedroom side of the suite at all and it rattled. It was about 80 degrees in there. The 2-queen side and the sitting room were sufficiently cooled. The shower tile in the king bathroom was falling apart, but the other bathroom was fine. Evening reception and morning breakfast were both nice enough, and included in the price of the room. We would stop there again.

My stay was for two nights. The hotel was right downtown w/plenty of restaurants and shops to enjoy easily within walking distance of the hotel. The hotel was a bit difficult to find if you were driving down the street in a rather brisk pace. So be aware of that. The free breakfast was consistent w/Embassy Suites breakfast's. Plenty of choices and a good array of food. The room was quiet and comfortable. I would certainly go back there again in the future.

We enjoy staying at Embassy Suites and make a point to always find one when traveling. The Winston Salem Embassy Suites is awful and brings the brand name down. We stayed here twice since we took our son to a summer camp. We had a problem with the toilet and called the front desk. They sent the crew really quickly. Normally this kind of things takes for ever but the embassy suites team was very kind and saved the day. I liked the indoor pool and the free snacks in the afternoon. We have stayed in numerous Embassy Suites from coast-to-coast. It is a wonderful chain for a family, our favorite. The stay here was disappointing, except for an excellent breakfast buffet. The hotel is conveniently located downtown. The downside to that is that you do have to pay for parking in the attached parking garage. The staff was all very friendly and accommodating. The Room was spacious. We enjoyed the Indoor Pool. We stayed there while having some medical testing completed at Wake Forest University. The staff is very friendly. The cleanliness of the rooms and the overall hotel always leaves a big impression WHEN good....these were just great! No complaints. We have stayed a several Embassy Suites throughout our travels; find them on the nicer side of the scale. The Free Breakfast is a big plus. Love to eat and read the morning news at my leisure; un... Room was very clean upon arrival. Very clean throughout stay. Breakfast was excellent as expected. Lounge was comfortable and cozy. Located in the heart of the city. Walking distance to excellent restaurants and breweries.

Room was satisfactory. The lobby and restaurant area are both VERY outdated. They need to be renovated extremely bad. Parking is horrible. You have to park in a nasty parking garage and pay every time you come and go.

This hotel is in serious need of a refresh. The AC was warm and the room was definite outdated. The only thing that made my stay enjoyable was the excellent service I received by the people at the front desk.

Hotel was nice with a great location. Offered 3 different parking options with third party vendors and in and out privileges. Breakfast was great (the omelets were made fresh while you wait) but the staff and service was even better. It was a great layover point on our way home from the south and a great starting point for a morning walk. Loved it.

They offer valet parking but I parked in a free lot about 2 blocks away. Slow, courteous check in. One receptionist was on phone a long time. Evening brunch was ok. Beds and room were comfortable. Room was on 4th floor facing south. I did hear fire trucks leave with sirens a few times but not late. Very good breakfast. The omelet chef asked if everything I'm my room was satisfactory. Maintenance man was very helpful and fast with small bathroom problem. It wasn't a big deal but this Em... Read more

We were there two hours before having to kill this bug that wandered out from beneath the bed. Additionally, even though it is a non-smoking hotel, I could smell cigarette smoke in the hallway on our floor. We packed up and checked out after two hours. No thanks. They were very gracious in not charging us.

I'm the type of person that doesn't spend much time in my hotel room, except at night, and when I'm traveling with other people, and have to share my "space"......I like room to move around! What I really like about the Embassy Suites is the separate sitting area and bedrooms. This allows a night-owl like myself to sit up later than the rest of my group! I also liked that we had plenty of closets to put luggage and other sundry items away, and off of the floor. I also enjoyed that fact that ... Read more

We were here for one night to drop off kid to college PROS: Very friendly staff The 2 free drinks from 530-730pm was a pleasant surprise The free morning breakfast was quite good with omelet station Not to far to Wake campus Huge Rooms Clean, comfortable CONS: Major con is that the hotel is quite dated. You can see it immediately in the elevators with worn panels. Worn carpets throughout. Have to pay for self parking Overall easily could make it to 4 stars if they would invest in a refresh

Massive rooms (I'm talking 800+ Sq ft) , amazing location, friendly staff, cheapish parking, good price. Wish it wasn't as dated as it was however. Also, the rooms, while dated in layout, we're recently refurbished at least.

Nice hotel, well located in downtown Winston Salem. Immediately across from Marriott (connected by a walkway) with a common parking garage. Hotel has an excellent breakfast that includes a chef who makes omelets to order. 2 room suite was spacious.

Very nice hotel in downtown Winston Salem. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. I was here for business so the conference room was also very spacious, the lunch was delicious, and the bathrooms there were also very well kept.

I was very disappointed with the front desk experience because you never get a second chance to male a first impression. My impression is that the management does not value customers because no one has contacted me about my reservation experience. I will not stay at this location again

Our room was very spacious. The living area was large with a television. The bedroom had two beds and another television and the bathroom was really big and clean. The closet space was plentiful. We were in an 8th floor room that was very quiet.

Stayed for 1 night and cancelled the second after checking into this downtown hotel. Had stayed by the mall at the HGI and thought downtown would be nice, and embassy would give us more space. I regretted the choice immediately. A direct sales convention was going on, folks were sketchy and lingering around lobby, elevators, hallways, etc. The parking was the best part of the room. The room needs updating, the air was loud all night, the tub was backed up, the wallpaper was peeling, the bathroom... Read more

Bad time to come since convention center was under construction. Lot going on all the time. East side entry to lobby was a nightmare. Needed someone to direct traffic. Female cook was excellent on breakfast.

Let me first say, that the Embassy Suites in downtown Winston is not the newest and up to date. Yes, the hotel is due for a renovation; however, where it counts the Embassy Suites is "10" great people, great service, comfortable and very clean rooms, breakfast is always top-shelf and abundant, and the location (with parking deck) is very convenient.
