I've stayed at several hotels in the Wilmington area and this is probably one of the newer hotels. It's a pretty standard HIE. The staff was pretty friendly and helpful. It's located close to all the general stuff you'd be looking for - Walgreens, Walmart, Arby's, McDonald's, supermarkets, gas stations, etc. Also, it's close to the highway if you have to go to work in Wilmington. Rooms are good but not particularly super well insulated for sound as I could hear my neighbor's TV at night. M... Read more

Best hotel for the price near downtown Wilmington. Very clean and spacious rooms right acrrthe street from a strip mall with a Walmart. Nice little indoor pool with max of 4 feet deep idwal for small kids. Much better option than those shady beach motels near Wrightsville beach.

Well I'm here for my brothers baseball tournament and we gotta room here. Well anyway there some good things and some bad things. The good things are that they got a good free breakfast. The sheets smelled like Mel dew. There was a fitness center it was nice and all but if your under 14 you can't get in the fitness center. This one man was really nice. But this woman she treated us like a bunch of idots. But the fitness center rule that's such a dumb rule. Give me a break. I go to other hotels a... Read more

First of all this place handled all 60 of us on the busiest weekend of the year, 4th of July, while also hosting other ball-teams for the state tournament as well as a family reunion. Our rooms were clean, the breakfast satisfied 30 hungry kids all 10 years and under as well as about 30 adults. The pool was a little small but we had an oversized crowd so not fault of their own. The staff was absolutely amazing!!!!!! The went above and beyond to work with us and our ever changing reservation sche... Read more

Stayed here Friday night while on road trip with family. Hotel and room was clean, breakfast was great and front desk was courteous. Only negatives were the cold indoor pool and edge of beds creaked when you got in-out which could wake others.

We were in town for a family reunion and four of us had two rooms. Before choosing this hotel we looked at the competition and found all the nearby hotels were just as expensive for our weekend. But research showed us that this was a decent looking area and near where we wanted to be, so we chose it. At first glance on Google maps and Google street view I thought this was a newer hotel, but when I got there I learned it's about 7 years old. Much of the property is decent. There are a few roug... The hotel is worn out and it's not THAT old. The beds are horrific. I laid the ironing board across the bed so that one can see how bad they are. As soon as I walked in the room I called the front desk. I was told by the front desk that 1) they have new mattresses on the way 2) they would still charge me if I checked out. 3) they had no other rooms to move me to. Even if they did, all of the beds are like this. This hotel is full of construction workers. If you are here for business or pleasure... Read more

Stayed two nights this past week. Staff was very courteous. Property was well laid out. Loved the meeting room. It was easy to understand good service came from the top down. In the process of resheduling my Wilmington area business to this location.

I live on Oak Island, NC and during high winds, bridges to/from Oak Island are closed. For this reason, during Hurricane Matthew this month, I opted to evacuate the island, but not get too far from home. I called Holiday Inn Express in Southport but their rates seemed a bit high - about $100 more per night than the Leland location only 15 minutes away. So off to Leland - dogs in tow. The hotel itself is conveniently located to Wilmington. Rooms are nice, with great mattresses making for a go... Read more

We stayed two nights at this hotel. We stayed here because of its proximity to a number of surrounding communities and activities. We could walk to some places, but still needed a car to get where we needed to go for the most part. The hotel seemed recently updated and appeared clean for the most part. There was an area under the bathroom sink that needed a wipe down and the caulk in the corners of the tub needed to be touched up. The room was very nice, with very high ceilings. It was a ki... Overall the hotel is good. Good hot breakfast with biscuits, gravy, eggs bacon and cereal coffee and juice. The bed was bad but the clerk said they were to be replaced within 30 days. This is middle of the run hotel.

The staff was great, food was good. Room and common area were very clean. The only problem was the mattress was caved in on the side most sleep on (away from the wall.) I didn't get back to my room from a meeting till 11 pm and was too tired to switch so I just crawled to the other side and slept there. Talked to the assistant GM the next day and she said they were in the process of replacing all of the mattresses. She took other steps to make it right with me (partial reimbursement.) Back... We stayed at the Leland Holiday Inn for 2 nights during Labor Day. Very pleasant stay, clean and they allow dogs. If you get a chance go see Southport and Oak Island if you're from out of town. There are several restaurants in the immediate area.
