Stayed here for the weekend. Rates were up because of leaf season but not outrageous . Desk staff and housekeeping were all very nice. Very good breakfast set up- pancakes , hot and cold cereal, bacon , pastries, yogurt, fruit, biscuits and gravy all good and well maintained . Room was very clean and bed was comfortable and lots of pillows. Good view from the window of the leaves changing in Ashe County. Perfect location close to downtown and grocery. Nice to bring in a few things for the fridge... Read more

Clean room, excellent service from Mr. Steven Powell(General Manager). We came in from Elyria, Ohio for the App state vs Miami game after driving all night. The game was at noon so we didn't have much time to rest before heading to the stadium. Mr. Powell not only got us into a room early so we can rest a bit, but upgraded us at no additional cost because that was the only room available that early. Breakfast was excellent(REAL FOOD), clean pool & fitness room, friendly staff. The view of the mo... Read more

The regular rate for this hotel is $184 for one night weekends. I find that to be on the high side for the area. This is the only name brand hotel in the area and talking to area people it is the best one. There is not a lot to do in the area.

We booked this room online and received a confirmation for out 1 night stay this summer. When we arrived, the type of room was not available and it took them a while to figure out where they could put us. At first it looked like they had no room for us but as the attendant saw my frustration level growing, a room magically appeared. After a rough start, we found the the room we ended up with was clean and satisfactory. We went down the next morning before 9 am for the complimentary breakfast... Read more

Great location to home base your visit to Ashe County or Grayson Highland State Park in VA. Hotel was a fairly new Hampton Inn that HI Express took over a few years ago. Nice updates to the common areas to make it look similar to other new HI Express hotels. Left before breakfast but have heard it is nice. Recommendation - there are vending machines, but adding a pantry that sells items that frequent traveler enjoy would have earned this review 5/5 stars vs. the 4/5 I have provided. I've... Read more

This facility is perfectly situated for visits to Ashe County. The room was clean and adequate and was outfitted with a microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker. Bathroom was clean with ample supplies and towels. There is an excellent view from the front of the hotel of the mountains and surrounding area. I sat out there on the benches during the evening and it was extremely pleasant. Hotel staff was professional and cheerful. Breakfast was fine and the coffee was actually not bad! It was drinka... It was mostly a very pleasant 4 night stay, as it usually is when I stay there. I was in disbelief however when on the 3rd morning of this recent stay , the lights were turned off on me while I was putting gravy on my plate. Quiet rude. They might as well have told me to get out. In addition to that , the rude receptionist on duty of the evening of August 24th told me she could not empty my trash and refused to bring me clean towels when I informed her my room hadn't been clean that day. The place always looks new and clean. Used to stay here when it was a Hampton Inn but then it went independent so I quit staying here. Glad to see it is back with a company that gives points. The staff is super friendly and very willing and quick to help. Breakfast was fresh and good morning. No more bagged food like they had when they were the Hampton.

We were so glad we stayed here. Newly remodeled, the room even smelled new! I read a review that there were not any refrigerators or microwaves in the room but there are now! Direct Tv and free wifi. The view from the hotel is so beautiful! Very comfortable beds. Everything was clean and well kept! We stayed in the King leisure room that had a whirlpool tub in the room. It was very clean and enjoyable as well!

This hotel is by far the best one in the area. Great rooms with lots of space. Excellent breakfast is free...biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausage and bacon, cereals, yogurt, etc. Entire hotel has a clean new look. Staff is superb....from the front desk to the maids....excellent. The best super market in the area is just across the street....also the local McDonalds.
