Me and a group of 15 buddies booked this course through a booking agent and overall the Byrd course was ok. I lost several balls that plugged in the fairway and you just could not find them. To be fair the area had gotten a lot rain and it was cart path only. The greens were super fast. I would like to play this course again when it is dry.

This was our 5th or 6th time at Sea Trail and we had a great time. The weather wasn't perfect but that is the chance you take booking this trip in February. The courses were a little wet from all the rain they have had, but in decent shape. The rooms were great, clean and everything we needed. All the staff we encountered were very polite and helpful. We will definitely go back next year. A great time at Sea Trail as always. Don't let the negative reviews stop you from trying this place.

We played the golf course and know nothing of the resort part. The course is well taken care of and is a challenge for all ages and skill levels. Fees are reasonable as well for the area. Again we did not stay in the resort . We played golf only.

We are conducting a safety conference here and our members have raved about the meeting space and the meals. John Humphries has been amazing to work with. His attention to detail has made my job as a meeting planner easy. His staff, Jessica and Julius have made sure our rooms are set up the way they need to be and that all meal functions are ready at the times requested. Did I say that the meals and breaks have been wonderful, that Sea Trail has two fabulous chefs, and that our conference o... Read more

This was our first visit to Sunset Beach, NC and so we wanted to pick somewhere close to the actual start/finish line of our run. Sea Trail has much greenery and attractive inside & out. As for the deluxe mini suite we stayed in, let me just state that I will not book this again. In addition, since you aren't allowed a refund for any unused day, we had to tough it out. The beach was very calming and relaxing. The person who greeted us checking in & out (I believe her name was Hailey), treated us... Read more

My family and I are loyal vacationers to Sunset Beach and recently stayed here instead of our usual place off HWY 17; bad choice. Our total for 4 nights was $852, fourth night free, so you can imagine our frustration when we were given a room equivalent of a cheap motel. After informing the front desk of our disgust and pointing out their information was misleading, they kindly moved us to a "better" room which we were pleased with until...When I asked for more towels I was informed that I had t... Horrible customer service! Even the manager we spoke to was incredibly rude! Our room was filthy when we arrived-stained sheets (even a blood stain!), moldy shower curtain, dirty dishes, etc. The beds and pillows are very uncomfortable. One tv didn't work at all, one was very blurry. I have stayed at cheap hotels and had much better service and cleaner rooms! This place isn't worth the money at all! I am not sure what happened, because we used to stay here and loved it. new owners? Either way,I ... Read more

I rented a 2 br deluxe suite and while there were good things about it, the negatives were pretty significant. The first thin we did upon arriving was call housekeeping and have them cleaned a screened in area that had been used as a smoking spot with leftover cans and cigarette butts. That was the only time we ever saw or had anyone from housekeeping in the place. There were cobwebs and bugsin the Windows both inside and out and the kitchen was not clean. The grounds are lovely, the po... Read more

I have been driving around this course for over 15 years. We finally decided to play, and were put on the Maples Course. There was just two of us and we got to the course about 45 minutes early to warm up. After we paid we went to the putting green and the range started calling our names. We went over to him and told him we wanted to warm up and wait for our scheduled playing time. There was already a crowd on the first tee so we didn't want to go stand in line. He keeps calling our name over an... Read more

I booked this stay via Hotwire.com for a last minute beach trip for the 4th of July. After reading the reviews, I was really scared. But, since there was no refund, what could I do? When I got to the resort, I was pleasantly surprised. I was expecting to see the place falling apart based on what some were saying here. Not the case. It is a little dated, but overall, my unit was clean and well-maintained. We even got vouchers for free breakfast the next morning. The courses were nice and the staf... Read more

Found spoiled sheets in one bedroom. Called the next morning to inform the staff. House cleaning came and took the sheets. I called and talked to manager. Was told sheets were dirty and could have been a marker. Felt Like I was telling them a Iie!!!! I am so unset over the Resorts lack of concern. They said my vacation was not ruin. Well I don't like to sleep on bloody dirty sheets. Don't go.
