I stayed at Wyndham Resort at Fairfield Sapphire Valley on March 27-30, 2016. This is a nice resort community with "NO CELL COVERAGE". Hiking and sightseeing are available or just relax. Front desk staff members were pleasant, friendly, and helpful. The condos were nice, but a little dated. Be aware the road from Asheville is very curvy. Night arrival with this curvy, foggy, rainy road was not fun.

Just returned from Sapphire Valley and the newly renovated Wyndham Resort. Not only were the accomodations excellent so were the local restaurants. We had not been to this area before so relied on the staff at the resort for recommenations as to were to go and they provided perfect choices to make our visit memorable. We were there a couple of weeks before the peak season so some attractions were not yet open but most were and we plan to return possibly in the fall for the colors in the mountain... Read more

I am from the coast, so driving here was a challenge due to the curvy roads, but it as not too horrible, we are staying in foxhunt townhouses and they are pretty good size and the view is amazing room even has a fireplace and there is plenty areas to hike or mt bike

Although it is dated the accommodations are lovely. It has a nice little kitchen that has all the basics in a very quiet setting. The playground is great for kids and there are a few nice places to eat within walking distance.

Came here for our yearly summer family vacation. Nice area. Not crowded which is good and temps between 70-80. That's a relief coming from scorching North Alabama where its already 90 plus. We stayed at Fox Hunt about a mile down the road. Our unit was a split level town house with the master bedroom downstairs. Its the average unit with balcony's on each floor. You can hear noise pretty easily walking above which seems to be a common problem with these places. But other than that its a pretty g... Read more

The area was nice but you had to drive to go do anything, even on the resort property. Our family likes to grill out and even that was a 10 minute drive from our room. All the things we wanted to see and do was at least an hour away.

Stayed in the Foxhunt condo area...very dense wooded area; Very damp esp. after the rains. No view...only trees! Unit accommodations good. Definitely need car to get to rec/community center. Takes a while to get use to the curvy roads. Waterfalls in area are beautiful.

The resort is located in the heart of Smoky Mountains highlands. So many of the Waterfalls and Hiking trails are accessible easily and within driving distance from this location. The check-in office is located near the Public Safety office on Highway 64 and not where indicated by the Wyndham online site and here. I was assigned a unit in Fairway Forest on the golf course development about 2 miles away from the main amenities (swimming pool, recreation center, etc) of the resort. The unit itself... Read more

We are Wyndham owners and booked through them. I didn't realize at the time of booking that I would be two miles from amenities and that the floor plan on the booking page was different from the unit we ended up having. CHECK IN: Fairway Forest books week long stays starting on Fridays. If you have a Friday check-in and an NM box on your reservation, you need to check in across the street from the Wyndham Managed properties. Be prepared to spend an hour in line. The people also didn't seem to ... Read more

The area is just as lush, beautiful, and varied as portions of Hawaii, the activity offerings are full and varied, and the units are spacious and clean. The negatives are five in number and all relate to Wyndham administrative failures: 1) the shared doors between the units (2 per) permit all sounds to travel annoyingly from neighbor to neighbor, 2) the basic resort office is NOT staffed every week-day for up to 15 hours and on week-ends for up to 30 hours -- that means no maintenance, no admin... The room was clean and I had no issues with the management staff, such as the other reviewers had. The bed was comfortable and I did enjoy my stay. The downside was mainly that the room's decor and construction needs to be updated. There were enough cooking utensils/pots and dishes, etc in the kitchen, so I didn't need to buy anything but food to be able to cook. The room's decorations looked like it was dated back to the 80's, although I will say that nothing smelled or was in horrible conditio... Read more

Check-in was easy and painless. I called the resort a week before we arrived and requested a unit that was all on 1 floor. They were able to put us in a unit that was all on 1 floor. Unit was clean, bed was comfortable, and everything worked. Unit had washer and dryer. Units are within walking distance to rec center, community center, and ski lodge (not operating yet). Mica's Restaurant is just off the resort property but within walking distance. You need a car to get around as grocery is ... Read more

We are Clemson fans, and this ski resort is only 42 miles from campus (and only about 30 as the crow flies), making it the ideal place to relax and take in a game. The windy mountain roads are a but stressful to drive on, so be prepared for that. The rooms in the resort are nice, but a but dated. We've stayed here three times and every time the units has had a lot of stairs to navigate, so if you have older people in your party, or small kids, beware. You can ask for units without stairs and... Read more

The unit has an interesting layout. You come in through the living room in the upstairs. The rest of the unit is downstairs. The design downstairs if fairly good -- windows on both sides of the Jacuzzi room give you a view from the dinning room table. We were quite happy with our "partial" kitchen, which we feared would be much smaller and not offer much for cooking options. The bedroom has a huge walk-in closet The deck off is off the bedroom and gave us a great view of the super moon.... Read more
