Most Marriott's I stay in are fairly outdated, but this one is one of the better ones I've stayed at. While it is modern-ish, it still lacks some of the modernized rooms at other chains. It's location is key. Downtown Raleigh in a very nice area with several decent restaurant options within walking distance. However, they have a fairly new restaurant inside called Rye that is decent and worth trying some meals. The décor was nice and has a Starbucks inside as well. The oddest thing was the gi... This is our second time staying here on business. We love the convenient location and the safety of the area. The pool and hot tub are wonderful. The staff is very friendly and the bar tenders greeted us warmly every night.

The City Center Marriott in Raleigh, NC is situated across the street from the Convention Center and a short walk to several attractions in the heart of the city. We found some great restaurants within a few blocks. The room was clean with crisp white linens and a really comfortable bed. No refrigerator in my room. Front desk staff were polite and friendly. Self-parking was available in a city parking garage adjoining the building at $12 a day. Can't beat the easy access of this hotel with some ... Read more

My husband attended a 2-day conference & we extended our stay for a short vacation. The location was ideal being right across the street from the convention center and there were lots of activities in the city center. We especially enjoyed the "Food Truck Rodeo." Every single person we met was friendly & helpful. The valet parking is $30/day, but they have a garage right in the hotel where you can park your own car & that is only $12/day. The hotel is a little pricey, but was very nice. Th... Read more

This hotel is nice and the rooms are modern and nicely appointed. Wi-fi isn't free but works well if you buy it. Breakfast is't free--unless you manage to book with it. Gym was nice and the views are pretty. The hotel is connected to the convention center so convenient if doing anything there. Across the street are some restaurants and others are within walking distance too. Self-parking is in a garage and $20 (I'm not sure whether this is per day as we stayed for about 28 hours and paid t... Read more

We came into the hotel for a drink - kids were at the convention center. The bar is open and welcoming. Very comfortable surroundings. It is somewhat open which makes it a bit noisy. Consider sitting towards the back area since a number of new comers collect in the front area (which makes it more crowded).

Let me start by saying I am a Marriott customer. Marriott City Center was the perfect venue for our son's wedding. This downtown location was everything we wanted. The Valet, Bell, and Front Desk were exceptional. The managers in each of these departments we kind and ready and willing to assist any way they could. The restaurant food was fabulous, including room service. We utilized the hotel elevator for the "first look" pictures and it was a perfect place. The staff that did our room se... Read more

I love Marriotts. But this one missed the mark. I was upgraded to a junior suite upon check in, but it was not a nice suite. It was designed to be accessible for a disabled individual, which gave me a roll-in shower, which I did not like. I think that if you are provided with a room like this upon check and you are not disabled, the room differences should be explained. PROS: Lovely lobby On site sundry store and restaurants Large, sunny rooms with plenty of natural light Decent number of outl... Read more

Stayed 4 nights in May for a conference. Conference room is right next door, there's even a tunnel. The Marriott was sparkling clean with a large room, nice views, and the staff were very friendly. Within a few blocks there are restaurants and cafes, and the museums. Wifi was included with conference, but it didn't work that well for me - I used the Wifi at the conference. It was also unsecured WiFi (just FYI). There is a nice fitness room, but I enjoyed walking around the downtown to the a... Read more

Great Hotel and up to the standers that you want from a Marriott. The check-in was easy and I did not have to wait and I was early. Sharon was on the front desk and had my keys and information in no time at all. Later on the same day I saw the General Manager Bill Hofmann, on the elevator and he ask me how I was doing. Customer service and a top quality hotel

Late night order of coffee! Expressly asked for a fresh pot with 2 ice waters with slice of cheesecake. Coffee arrived cool! Half & half had ice in it and no water! Cheesecake is definitely NOT Cheesecake factory NOR do the slices compare for the expensive price! Did get it right second time around..... Next morning my 6:15 am delivery of breakfast arrived with a hair fried into the eggs! Called down to front desk because room service did not answer the phone. One hour later, no call from room... 1) The hotel charges NYC prices but isn't in NYC 2) This may be one of the last hotels in a developed nation that charges $12/night for crappy--reminiscent of dial-up--internet. Who charges for internet anymore? 3) The room was clean and pleasant, good bed, decent bathroom, old fashioned hair dryer (no defuser), no cosmetic/lighted mirror (stuff you'd expect given the price of this hotel!). 4) front desk people were very nice and helpful 5) room service delivery person was very nice and helpf... The hotel is well located and the rooms are ok, however considering the price we expecting more. There are only two lifts servicing 17 floors, so you can imagine the wait! The escalator was broken during our stay so the fastest way from the lobby to cars was around the block. The staff at the front desk were rude and incorrectly charged my parents. Overall not a good hotel and would not recommend.

We booked a room at the Marriott so we could enjoy the 4th of July festivities known as "The Works" in downtown Raleigh. Little did we know what a great spot the hotel is in to do just that. We walked around the street, took in the days activities, and had some time to freshen up in our room before watching the fireworks that night. We weren't sure how noisy it was going to be as our room was on the 10th floor, looking down on the days events, but we did not hear a thing when the clean up beg... Read more

I continue to really like this hotel. I was impressed when I arrived this trip to be greeted by name by Grey the valet - always super nice and helpful. All staff are always so pleasant to interact with and you can tell that they truly want you to have a nice stay. The last few times that I have stayed here though, the hot tub has not been working. This was a very busy place on the weekend we stayed there...lobby was always busy, but there were many seating areas for people to gather in. The bar area had live music at night. The rooms were nice & large. Wifi speed was decent. We had trouble getting our tablets connected, but a couple of calls to their IT people got us connected. We had tickets to see a concert at the Red Hat Amphitheater that day. We lucked up by finding availability and just two blocks from the concert! We were even able to find a parking space on the street right outside. No parking fee! We also received a great rate! Nice room......average for what I expected. I can't believe these hotels don't give free WIFI! The only complaint I have is so small. There was two tears in the comforter on the bed. Please repair or dispose of it please!

My college friends (Go Pirates) got married this weekend and had their wedding party, family and friends stay at the hotel and I have to say, I was quite impressed. This is a beautiful hotel with elegant rooms. Rye bar, in the lobby, had great food, better drinks and a wait staff that was helpful and paid close attention to their guest's experience. I have stayed here numerous times and each time is amazing. As a MR Gold member I have the "luxury" of spending many nights away from home. However, this property has mad me feel most at home hence why I stay here at least 10-15 times per year. For instance today I screwed up and booked the state rate without paying much attention. I was trying to book the military rate. The concierge was extremely nice and even gave me the state rate which she really didn't have to do. This is just a small exam... Read more
