This hotel is undergoing a huge renovation that looks to be about done (wrapping up restaurant area.) I stayed at this hotel while it was getting renovated a year or so ago and vowed I'd never go back. However, on a business trip I was booked here and was extremely happy with how nice the rooms are. I certainly would stay here again... and probably will!

Excellent stay in the newly renovated room. I think I was the first to stay in it since construction. Slept very well, nice modern look. I didn't want to check out. Pool is not finished yet. Ask to stay in a quiet room away from construction. Lobby was nice and staff trainer was there to provide excellent service.

Had a quiet and restful stay! Staff was courteous/friendly. I could barely hear doors close in the hallway (I had to listen for it). The rooms were up to date and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was Spartan but not over promised. My stay was just long enough for sleep, so I did not get a chance to check out a fitness room/equipment and am not even sure if they had one. I would definitely stay again.

Well. I stayed in this hotel last year when it was under renovation. I was quite shock because I didn't expect would be that busy works in the hotel. I was confused because I booked for 7 nights and when I booked through one of website the option was I have to be charged and no cancellation. However, I can't stay in the hotel with the condition like that. Finally I talked to hotel staff. She is a friendly and very understanding. She helped me and everything sorted out. I only stay one night and ... Read more

Although the breakfast was quite good, there were three negatives I experienced. First, I asked for the WiFi password, and I repeated it to the clerk, which she confirmed. It was wrong (two numbers were supposed to be 50 instead of 15). The second disappointment was that the fitness center wasn't open, even as long as 90 minutes after its advertised time-to-be-open in the morning: the clerk said she couldn't find the key and either a manager wasn't available or s/he didn't know where the key ... You wouldn't be able to imagine how bad a Holiday Inn could be until you get here! The hotel is under renovation so the only working elevator is the back one. But they locked the back door and you can't even open it with your room key. This means EVERYONE will park in the back (cuz you won't find parking in the front), walk 5 minutes to the front entrance, walk all the way back to take the elevator, then walk all the way around to your room. The rooms are not sound proof AT ALL so every morning ... Read more

Nice hotel. My room and the beds were very comfortable. The hotel is in the middle of renovations but the decor is beautiful. The outdoor pool was unavailable. The staff was nice although not too sugary.

Stayed at this hotel for business I had in downtown Raleigh. Good: STaff were very nice, room was comfy, clean. Located across from the mall. fairly quick drive into downtown once you get out of the hotel. Bad: they were doing renovations so the pool was closed. Wish they had told us that at booking as I had kids w/ me. Worst thing is the location. It's right across from the mall, but the traffic patterns make it completely horrible to get in and out of the hotel, especially at rush h... Read more

Charged me for 3 days and I only stayed for 2 days. So be aware you will be charge extra days. The people who work in the front desk are rude. Worst holiday in ever. Their excuse of why the card is charge extra days is becauae of pensing charges. Never have i received my money back ever. Do not recommend at all.

The place is not the best for traffic, but the renovations are very well done. It was a busy night checking in and got to a great room. Went down to the restaurant and was handled very well by the bar tender. She had a smile and treated each guest very well. I highly recommend this place

While traveling thru Raleigh we decided to stay here after considering several other places. The positives:The fantastic room (the above standard beds, lamps,ac,bathroom w/fixtures,the multitude of towels also),the entrance and the ease of making the reservation/checking out.The negatives:The elevator is at the back of hotel, said elevator having a slight delay,an odd odor by the elevator and the remodeling being done. That being said this is the best place we've ever stayed.

When we arrived the pool was closed because it had not yet been inspected by the state after the recent renovations. We were very disappointed but the front desk was sympathetic and arranged for us to use the pool at another nearby hotel. We could see the manager making repairs to the gate (in her business dress clothes!) while the inspector was watching, so we decided to go to the other hotel. As we were walking out the door they flagged us down to let us know that the pool had passed the inspe... Read more

Our team just spent 4 days at this Holiday Inn. Holiday Inn is typically nice enough, but this one takes it to a whole new level. This is as nice as a higher end hotel. They have just renovated the entire facility, but not just superficially. It was a real renovation and it is like new. The meeting spaces are great, the pool is larger than most, the fitness room is well stocked, and the rooms are quiet and comfortable. But most important, the staff is amazingly friendly. They were kind at al... Read more

Stayed here last night, exterior, rooms, lobby and bar all remodeled. I saw some reviews about the elevator in front not working. It was functioning when I was there. I have no complaints. I did not realize it wasn't a Holiday Inn Express so breakfast is not included but is made to order. Staff was very friendly. The bar had some really good local craft beers on tap, unfortunately the folks back there while very nice and providing excellent service just didn't know much about the beers themselve... Read more

Visiting and staying with friends in Raleigh, didnt want to check out. So pleased had to call back the next day my grandaughter left her pillow there. They called back within 10 minutes of my original call. No one does that anymore. My only complaint i wish breakfast was served a little later. I am a lazy traveler. So from 10 to 4 there is no fo... Stayed here recently for a one week business to the Raleigh area. I must admit that the renovations were really great and I saw many people during the week just come into the hotel to see what the final renovation results were. All the staff were friendly, from the front desk to the restaurant staff. Room was clean and was refreshed on a daily basis, As most other hotels I've stayed at is the dreaded hallway noise, wish there was an easy fix. Restaurant or Pub was convenient to grab a q... I have stayed at this property in the past and am pleased to report many positive improvements have taken place. Usually when upgrades are made they limit them to the lobby but the rooms have had a complete much needed upgrade as well. My room was clean as was the bathroom. I felt secure with the locks provided. The restaurant was very limited and sad to say typical Holiday Inn breakfast and slow service. The staff was very friendly but as mentioned in the restaurant they were understaffed an... Read more

I stayed for one night. The hotel and room was very clean. I thought being near the elevator and ice machine would be a noisy, but to my pleasant surprise, I didn't hear a thing. All-around excellent customer service from the front desk, to room service. I would recommend staying there to anyone in the Raleigh/Durham area.....also, a great shopping mall less than a block away! AJ the Travel Jewel

Super clean, super crisp, contemporary, solid choice. Right in the middle of town, in my opinion, for the price, it cannot be beat, should be a 4 str hotel. It has a restaurant, pool, I must admit I did not use either, but I did use their brand new gym

The Lobby blew me away when I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Crabtree area. This hotel has always been 1 of my favorites in the area, but the new look, refreshing new rooms, and updated feel to the lobby and restaurant are all supremely well done. Thank-you Holiday Inn and I'll be back soon.

I haven't been here in a while but couldn't believe this was the same Holiday Inn! Their renovation inside and out was truly impressive and now it is a lovely, modern hotel. They staff went out of their way to be warm and friendly. Clearly someone is paying attention to and encouraging good customer service. I felt bad for the one lone desk person dealing with everything the evening Hurricane Matthew hit and the hotel was without power but he handle things admirably! Room was clean, well decora... Traveled with our girls soccer team for a North Carolina soccer tournament and expected the usual shabby (but economical!) hotel. I was so impressed with the decor and the spacious contemporary look to the rooms! We had excellent service in the restaurant from Cindy (who always graciously handled our big group) and Dai, who I think served about 75 people dinner without appearing overwhelmed or stressed. TL;DR: A last-minute change in plans had me staying here on Thanksgiving Eve and, despite the holiday, service was impeccable, The Pub was enjoyable, rooms were perfect. Highway noise can be a problem but request a higher floor and it's barely noticeable. Great location, will stay again - and you should too! Stay Report - 12/6 - 12/7 Location: The hotel is on US 70 (aka Glenwood Avenue) and I-440. Downtown Raleigh is an easy 6 mile drive and RDU about 10 miles. Traffic in this area can build up a lot during rush hour. Nearby is Crabtree Valley Mall which has a large number of restaurants and stores. Hotel: The hotel recently underwent a massive renovation which was only finished this year. They did a great job with it. This hotel used to be a Howard Johnson's and has been open since 1978.
