The location was convenient, the hotel was clean and bright and I noticed that there was a constant effort to refurbish areas and improve them. The staff were immediately helpful, courteous, kind and polite. All staff were professional and supportive with a good service ethic. My room was cleaned well and to a high standard. I must name Cynthia and Marie on the reception for their help, kindness and good humour. The staff serving breakfast were similarly welcoming and warm as were the hotel bar ... Read more

Special kudos to the friendly and efficient wait staff consisting of Lynne, Jackie, Zulema, Cliff, and Anthony. We intend to be back next year.

These rooms are very comfortable with the amenities of the nice casual lounging. Beds are very comfortable nice view of the pool. nice feeling when you're walking into the main lobby with the fireplace. The Internet was a bit of a struggle to use and the pool is not heated but with the nice atmosphere it didn't really matter. Wonderful place to stay!

This is an old hotel that's been refurbished in a fine manner but that doesn't have any on premise pool. Room was very nice, staff were friendly, and we enjoyed our stay despite not having a pool there. Overall it is a quality place to stay with my only complaints being no pool, the breakfast buffet (while very good and a nice selection) was a bit expensive for a family, and the foldout sofa bed is not comfortable to sleep on.

Desk clerk rude. Didn't clean my room until I complained. Rent rented out my room while I was in there new guest tried to get into room at 12:15am Tuesday morning complained and was rude when I checked out. The mattress was broken down and old. Did not seem like a Hilton hotel. For the money just substandard.

hese areas could use improvement though: 1) The AC was too loud, especially when it cycled on (which it did frequently). It was abrupt and loud. 2) a small fridge and microwave oven in rooms would be more useful than a safe in the dresser. 3) it doesn't make sense to promote "most rooms with private balcony" if this balconies have no furniture. That was disappointing. 4) while the memory foam pillows are quite nice, the memory foam beds are uncomfortable. They are too hot!

Property is in good condition, but was certainly expecting more from a "Doubletree" caliber hotel, especially with a hefty price tag. There are a couple of decent bars around, but not worth the price.

I organized a 2 1/2 day training in February 2016 that included meeting space, sleeping rooms, and meals for 30+ people. The sales manager was easy to work with, the banquets and catering manager was accommodating and thorough, and the service was excellent. I recommend the "all day" food and beverage package. Searching for a Four-Star hotel to have the cleanliness of home, we were immediately disheartened. Upon entering, I knew the four-star rating was incorrect; there were stains on the entry pavement, litter, broken items, dead plants, and even an in-operational door. The elevator doors were faux painted when replacement is necessary, the interior of the elevator was perhaps the perfect place for a murder, more stains and garbage on the interior floors, appearing as if cleaning hadn't taken place... We stayed at the Doubletree Raleigh-Brownstone for a weekend in the area. The hotel itself was just okay: Pros: mostly clean, spacious room and bathroom, comfy bed, great location for Cameron Village and Downtown things to do, ample free parking Cons: no free breakfast, somewhat run-down in parts (peeling paint, damp smell, didn't trust the room balconies), housekeeping not very prompt (e.g., we went out at about 9:00 a.m. for shopping and returned after 2:00, but room hadn't been serviced yet... Our room was clean and spacious and the bed very comfortable. The hotel has lots of places to meet and sit around the lobby. This came in really helpful as our group had seven people who needed to meet both before and after our event. The pool area is very nice with benches and chairs, some under shelter so that you can enjoy the fresh air but stay in the shade. The hotel has a buffet breakfast and there are enough choices for almost everyone. The price is currently $11 which isn't bad.

Upon arrival the parking spots are small so my vehicle got dinged up. The room was humid & sticky due to a broken sliding balcony door that wouldn't close. Beds were not up to past Doubletree standards of comfort. At the bar you are better off making drinks yourself. Beware of the bums that park their bicycles in the back then ask for money for their "broke down" car.

Stayed at this hotel because of my past experiences at Doubletree and the convenience to the NC State campus. This is an older, renovated hotel but does a good job of maintaining the expected Doubletree reputation for cleanliness and service. Did eat at the breakfast buffet which was adequate. Service was unenthusiastic at front desk; maid was great though. No refrigerator or microwave for price of room. Lacked amenities of similar priced hotels we've stayed at. Wasn't thrilled about holding $20 per day; made me feel like they don't trust their guests,

The hotel is very conveniently located adjacent to the North Carolina State University Main Campus. There are good dining spots within walking distance, and the area feels quite safe. You are about 2 miles from the center of downtown Raleigh. A quick cab ride, but a little bit of a hike if you are walking. The room was spotless, and everybody from the front desk staff to the restaurant waitresses to the housekeeping folks were friendly and very helpful. Most of them spoke with the soft North ... Our experience during parents' weekend at a local university was dismal. The staff provided poor service and show little concern when we complained. Our room was located across the hall from the laundry room. We heard staff talking loudly in the hallway all night. Our room was missing cups, ironing board, blow dryer. No one apologized when we asked for these items. Our maid ignored a written note and forgot to leave shampoo. Our telephone did not work. The host in the restaurant at breakfast tim... Read more

We recently hosted an event for our customers at the Brownstone Doubletree in Raleigh, NC. This is my first attempt at event organizing, and it was in a city I have never visited...but the Brownstone Doubletree took great care of us. The accommodations were clean and comfortable, the event space was set up perfectly, and the catering was delicious. The hotel even helped me scope out restaurants and social events outside the hotel. We had two small bumps during our stay, but they were remedied im... Read more

My husband and I attended a jazz concert at the Red Hat Amphitheater September 16, 2016. We decided to make a weekend out of it. The Double Tree - Brownstone was an excellent choice. We were greeted by a very friendly receptionist and handled our chocolate chip cookies (which were delicious). Our room was clean and comfortable, and there were many food choices within walking distance. Not to mention Cameron Village was a short walking distance for those who like to shop. We enjoyed our stay, loved the complimentary warm cookies. Great location for walking to NC State and exploring the area. Breakfast buffet was good but a little expensive for what some hotels offer for free. Also I could not adjust the temperature above 69 degrees which was a bit cold for me. They offered to bring a heater to the room but I just bundled up.

Our large extended family all stayed at Doubletree Raleigh - Brownstone for a wedding. There were MANY other events going on that weekend and the hotel was full. We booked three of the King Suites along with several other rooms. The suites were moderately sized, comfortable, and mostly updated. This is an in-city hotel, so they are not as spacious as other, more suburban hotels. It's just like any other hotel. Conference area was nice a separate from regular guest area. parking is free and easy. that is always a plus in a hotel in the middle of a big city. air conditioner did not work in my room - got to 76 degrees in the middle of the night. Also, lots of outside noise including conversations in the parking lot 5 floors below and garbage trucks at 6am. And there is no mini-fridge in the room. during checkout, I was told I should have alerted them at check-in to my needs about separate receipts, which I did, and the lady gave me an eye roll.
