The room was lovely, clean and had a nice view of the marina. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet with so much to choose from. We arrived quite late in the evening and the front desk staff were so friendly and helpful. The next time we are back in town we will definitely stay here again.

Recently stayed here. Location was great. Right on the river and just a minute walk to downtown. Outside restaurant and bar, live music, great brunch at Christopher's, fantastic cookies upon arrival. Very friendly staff. Room size large with double French doors. Resort-like feel walking around grounds. Marina located right outside hotel-great place for boaters

Great location, however, maintenance needs improvement as my room door would not close without having to slam it. Also, TV was too small for the room. View of river is great so I recommend always staying on the river side. Parking in front of the Inn section is very convenient and luggage carts were plentiful.

This is quite a large hotel spread over two separate buildings. It's location is great, being right on the water front and a close walk into town for restaurants, shopping etc. Our room was very large, two double beds, TV, coffee maker, fridge, free (fast) WiFi, no in-room safe. Only annoyance was that our bedside lamps didn't work. Unfortunately we didn't get a room overlooking the waterfront, but this was only an overnight stay, that didn't worry us. The hotel has a pool. We stayed here while on a weekend get away and loved every minute of it. Everything that we wanted to see and do on New Bern was within walking distance including all restaurants, tours, bars, Tryon Palace and the water front. The hotel was spotless and everyone was friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was delicious and a great way to start our days. We will be back again and bring our whole family!

Aside from the hair in the bath tub and only receiving 2 bath towels for 4 guests on both days of our stay, the paint that was used in the inside of the tub (yes paint) was chipping off, floors were sticky and the A/C unit wasn't able to cool the room. We were hot and stuffy the entire weekend.

The hotel was very nice, staff very friendly. The area is family friendly. Plenty of restaurants very close. Some within walking distance. I will definitely return in the future. If you just want to get away but don't want long drive. Doubletree on the New bern waterfronc is a good choice.

Double Tree has a little something special for all, on Sunday nights from 5 to 9 they have a area behind the hotel call THE DECK. This area is outside with tables, chairs and umbrellas on a deck with a beautiful view of the Neuse River and Marina. The reason I am sharing this with everyone is because it is only known by those in the area, hotel stayers, If your coming to the area it is active , again, on Sunday evenings. It would suggest looking at another property when in the New Bern area. Hotel was at a nice location, but needed maintenance. Also our room didn't have a refrigerator in it but the front desk worked on getting us one and as we were headed to our room we received one. Front desk was great and the hostess/manager at breakfast was awesome and very hard working. Staying in that part of New Bern was great too! Had a riverfront view and lost of history there.

The sun sets are still amazing but the rooms look like the sun has set on them. Faded carpet and old bathroom fixtures. Location still is the best in town however. Tip: rooms in the back of the hotel will experience a lot of noise from the pool and late night music from the weekend entertainment.

Our room was ok, but looked out onto an ugly roof through french doors which didn't open. We chose this hotel because of its access to downtown, so it worked out ok for one night, but I cer... Excellent Customer Service, Great accommodations, Tasty Warm Cookies and a Beautiful View of the Marina. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful with beautiful smiles. The bed was very comfortable and I enjoyed the coffee in my room. A great stay and I will return.

We stayed for one night exploring the region, we love water views and was very happy with that. Only thing was we expected a true balcony where you could sit on it, not a standing balcony. Staff was excellent, we had breakfast in dining room and it was sufficient. Staff were unbelievably friendly.

Staff was helpful but the quality of the room was lacking. The room service was not good at all. Our med/rare steaks were very well done baked potatoes came with only 2 pats of butter, no sour cream, no bread and $115!!

This hotel is in a great location with a fantastic view of the river and within a short walking distance from down town New Bern and all the little shops and the Historical district along with Tyron Palace. The staff at this Hotel were all excellent and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. The Manager even had the hotel shuttle bus take us into town to a pharmacy to pick up some things my wife forgot to bring for our trip.

I've stayed at this location on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed. The staff is always friendly and the prices are reasonable and the location is awesome. Keep up the good work. They are also pet friendly, which is great because we can bring the most important member of our family.

This hotel is situated on a sound very close to restaurants and historical areas. We found very pleasant and well appointed room equipped with amenities typical for upscale hotels. The beds were comfortable and had pillows sufficient for any type sleeper. Heat/air conditioning controls were wall mounted. Walking distances to downtown location were a short walk. We found numerous high quality restaurants. If returning to New Bern this would be our hotel of choice. If history is your area of ... Read more

Our first trip to New Bern, after growing up in the state and living in Charlotte for the last 20 years, couldn't have been better! We highly recommend the DoubleTree - it's within walking distance of everything downtown, the staff is so kind, helpful and friendly. The hotel is spotless, and we were there about 2 weeks after a hurricane! Can't wait to return and will absolutely stay at the DoubleTree again.

I've spent many a night in New Bern for work purposes, but on my last trip, decided to stay at the DoubleTree, and was very pleased with my choice! The hotel is located right in the centre of town a stone's throw from any of the historic streets and restaurant areas, and is right on the waterfront. We booked a "balcony" room, but got upgraded to a spa room, which was rather nice. The rooms are huge and unique to this hotel (different from other DoubleTrees). The hotel is old, and the rooms are s... Read more

We stayed here one night. This was our second visit to this hotel. We had a event at the convention center next door. Our room was ready early . Upon entering, the room , 2 double beds with balcony, was very small for 2 adults and 2 kids. The balcony door was obviously off track and not fixable, so very difficult to open and close. The beds were very firm and squeaky every time you moved. The bathroom was very small, no more than 1 person can fit at a time. The bathtub had hair in it and the wat... Read more

Six couples wanted to spend a long weekend enjoying the sights and food of New Bern, NC. We chose the end of October so we could do some 'ghost hunting'. While in town, we shopped, ate wonderful food, did several guided tours. The hotel staff was magnificent and so very accommodating for our group gatherings on the patio.

This hotel was the location of a conference my fiancee and I attended, and I have to say the location was excellent. Being right next to the docks with a room facing the water was superb. The breakfast was a part of the conference and it was a decent buffet with herb potatoes, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, biscuits, and danishes. I don't know if this is what is provided for regular guests, but I believe the food was prepared by the hotel and it was pretty good. Definitely not the worst br... Read more

I have this hotel 3 stars for the lack of security features in the hotel. However, the rest of the hotel is pretty nice. I arrive to check in and the front desk informs me that I'm in the "next building." I thought, no big deal. I hop back in the car and drive to the adjacent building which looks like an old courthouse or office building. It looks nice enough. I walk to the door, it's an automatic door. It opens. Fine. I look in the lobby area, there's no clerk. I immediately think - there's ... Read more

My family and I decided that we would stay in New Bern, NC as a resting point for our road trip down to Savannah, GA. We did not know much about New Bern but from pictures it seemed like a nice place to lay our heads. I have to say that we were more than pleasantly surprised. New Bern is a beautiful town enriched with historical significance. We were greeted at the DoubleTree by very pleasant staff, and warm chocolate chip cookies, which was much appreciated as we had taken the scenic route ... Read more

This is a great location for walking around historic New Bern. You're within walking distance of some historic sites, shopping, a boardwalk, a waterfront park and dining. The room was clean, we had a good view, it was a decent price, and in a nice area. We will stay here again.

It would have been nice to have known that a wedding reception was happening within the hotel the night we stayed. The party rocked until 11:30pm and the vibrations of the electric slide rocked my bed more than once. If I wanted to attempt to sleep through a party I would have booked a college dorm. Not cool for $160 a night. We won't stay here again.

We stayed here overnight before heading out of town. The staff was helpful, the room nicely appointed and they had an excellent breakfast (included in the price). For free breakfast I typically expect some fruit and baked goods - this one was a nice surprise with eggs, sausage, waffles with fruit and whipped cream topping options plus cereal, yogurt, toast, bagels, hard boiled eggs, fruit, oatmeal and assorted juices and coffee. If you are looking for a hotel in the 100 dollar range (includin... Read more
