...wakes you up and lulls you to sleep. Yep, it's just that close to the ocean which makes it a go-to destination when in the Outer Banks. You're not going to get luxury but you'll fully appreciate the kind, professional and knowledgeable staff, the CLEAN rooms and convenient access to the offerings on just about every corner of OBX and Duck, NC; both tourist destinations. All these and few amenities explain the price points especially during summertime and major holidays. They have an indoor ... Read more

This hotel is right on the ocean, with balconies, just a few feet from the beach and the Kitty Hawk Pier, right off the main road, and across the street from a shopping center. Our room was facing the ocean and it was perfect! On the second day we returned to the room and found that repairs were being made on the exterior, thereby blocking our view. After notifying Jamie at the front desk, the problem was immediately resolved and the workers were gone. That's what I love about Hilton - great cus... Read more

Second time staying here. Check in and out procedure smooth. Room was clean and had no problems. Breakfast though not complimentary was very good. Has both an indoor and outdoor pool. We used the indoor pool. Has a nice deck overlooking the water. Beach very clean. Overall would recommend this hotel highly.

This property was more homey than other HGI I have recently stayed at. The lobby area, pool and gym appear to more recently updated. I stayed on a garden floor and the patio door needed to be repaired. It was nice to come out the room and go straight to the car. I would stay again, but would rather a higher level floor room to get a better view of the ocean. One of the really cool highlights is the fire pit in the courtyard.

Our family of four stayed here starting Memorial Day Monday. Our room was available immediately at 4pm (check in time). The front desk and restaurant staff always greeted us warmly. At one point in our stay, we received a scam phone call with the perp saying he was front desk staff. We spoke immediately with the staff and they confirmed it was a scam. They addressed the issue promptly. The pool, courtyard, and lobby area were very inviting. The breakfast was a great value. If I were looking for... Read more

I can repeat what others already wrote in their reviews, the place is rather dated and old but the staff really makes a difference here. People around the hotel are very nice and the burgers in the resturant were really tasty. If something would be done about the dated rooms it would make a huge difference, since hotel location and staff are really exceptional.

Located directly on the beach in the center of Kitty Hawk at the intersection of #158 and #12. This hotel has typically 1st class room accommodations. The lobby has always available coffee, juice, and hot water for tea. The lobby restaurant sits in the center with a partial view of the beach. The staff is excellent and attentive but honestly the food is nothing special. We had breakfast there only and the relaxed convenience is the draw. While the room we stayed in was nice and comfortable, for an expensive hotel we found some disappointing issues. Towels in the handicapped bathroom were on a shelf (with the hand towels and wash cloths hanging from an attached bar right underneath) above the tub and 6 feet high. They were on the opposite side of a fairly large bathroom from the sink (which was in a small inset) where a hand towel was needed after using the commode. We ate breakfast on our 1st morning in the hotel restaurant which was quite good value for money but was a bit disappointed to find that orange juice cost extra?! A bit cheeky! Not sure why. We had a lovely oceanfront room with a balcony to enjoy the surf and beach activity. The property is very nicely maintained, the grounds lovely to sit outdoors and enjoy your breakfast. Food was nicely presented. Great stop just off the highway. Very convenient stop for more remoteness of the Outer Banks. We would definitely return. The staff are very caring and helpful. Being Hilton Honor members, we have certain expectations --Unfortunately this particular establishment fell short. While the exterior was nice with pretty common areas (lobby, poolside, tiki bar etc.) the rooms certainly needed some attention. There were lots of foreign hairs in our shower, the sink was sticky, and the beds were broken down and lumpy. The pullout sofa needs a good cleaning and the pillows need replaced. It was definitely really nice. Not to mention a beautiful view of the beach and pool from our porch/deck area. They had a fitness center, indoor pool, outdoor pool, and a hot-tub. The indoor pool was heated and changed colors! That was one of the best parts besides the beach. The waves are perfect on their sector of the beach and the water is almost clear. Nice but inconsistent. The front desk staff was great. Stephanie was especially great to deal with. Housekeeping staff was friendly and helpful. The tiki bar in the daytime was good, the afternoon bartender didn't know how to make their special drinks. The restaurant for breakfast was pretty good. The room was clean and good sized. The property could benefit by picking up the trash around the dunes. Also the outside pool area could be kept cleaner to make it more enjoyable.

Everyone was friendly and attentive to anything we needed. Indoor and outdoor pools were nice if you didn't want to go down to the beach. As a Hilton Diamond who stays in tons of Garden Inns, I found this one woefully unimpressive. I called 4 days ago and I was assured I would have an ocean view room (high floor). When I got to the hotel, they tried to stick us in a "side" ocean view room. BEWARE of these rooms as you can really only see much ocean from the tiny balcony which (see pic) was covered with thousands of bugs. If you have to come to the Outer Banks, I would suggest VRBO.COM or home away.com.....the points just are not w... Read more

When we first arrived, the foreign maid was smoking in our room. It was a shame because it had a great view. They gave us another room, with a not so great view. The main complaint I have is about maid service and language barrier from some of other staff as well. This hotel is spotless upon entering and well maintained. I can only imagine they must contract out the cleaning, lawn care, and maintenance for everything to be so perfect. The well managed staff were courteous and professional in every area. The carpet and sofa in our room were aged but overall cleanliness and bathroom upkeep were great. We did here all rooms will be redone this winter.

Can't say enough good things about this hotel & the staff there. Management is terrific, the view & listening to the roar of the incredible ocean was wonderful from our room. The bartender & people there were fun & interesting. Breakfast @ the hotel was fine, but those famous "Duck donuts" were just across the street if they happened to call your name. WOW! What a disappointment. This is a very large Hilton Garden Inn and you can tell it is well used because it is "worn." That's fine, but not maintained as it should be like are most Hilton garden Inns. There was missing siding on the courtyard side of the building, the furniture was worn and the drapes were off the hooks holding them up. We enjoy staying at the Garden Inns because of the breakfasts that are available but our breakfast was one of the worst we had at a hotel such as this. ... Read more

Disappointed. While the lobby was nice, the courtyard was lovely, and the interior of the room was fine, the term "ocean view" was misleading. Unless you stand on the balcony of an interior/courtyard facing room, or stretch your neck out the sliding glass door, there is no ocean view. The exterior rooms have a slightly less obtrusive "view" as the ocean is visible from the sliding glass door - once one deliberately refocuses from the stark view of the parking lot.
