This is the ONLY place I stay when work calls me to the Huntersville area. Best in town for friendly service, nice spacious suites, and the staff has been able to negotiate rates for extended stays or repeat stays. April, the manager here, is the absolute most friendly, kind, and hard working hotel professional I have encountered as a guest. The staff here has a great leader who continues to go above and beyond for her staff which definitely helped our stay here as the hotel staff all seem to... Read more

This is my second time staying at this hotel. First time I stayed a month. This time I booked a little late for work, so I was only able to stay here for 2 weeks in a smoking room. To get the only bad experience out the way(self inflicted) was the smoking room had an extremely powerful smell of smoke the entire stay no matter how much febreze I sprayed. Besides that though, the stay was fine. It's really close to a bunch of restaurants and you could even walk there if wanted to. Staff is super f... Read more

Friendly front desk. Room looked nice/seemed clean but needed refurbishing. TV constantly went back to no signal when turned off and required punching buttons on the side to get back to cable-a bit annoying. You have to go to the front desk for ice which I thought was odd but it is geared toward long term stays and has ice trays in the freezer. Bed looked pretty but I barely slept a wink. But really nice people...even the other people in the hotel were pleasant. It felt like a little commu... Read more

Stopped without a reservation and had rooms with no issue. Hotel is a little older but in very good shape and very clean. This is my 4th Candlewood that I have stayed at and was very pleased. A very good job by Marchetta, the desk clerk. She had some computer issues and was very polite and friendly talking to us while the computer did its thing.

I have lost count on how many times I have stayed at this location. This is my go to place to stay when I am in the area. I give great praise to April the General Manager who is extremely personable. Her 3M staff members are great. That would be Monique, Marchetta, and Michelle. I wish I could give this Candlewood Suite a TEN!!. I highly recommend this hotel if you are ever in this area. The rooms are clean, fresh and equipped with everything you need. Stop by, and enjoy an extremely quie... Read more

I enjoyed my stay here. The location was great with anything you may need within a few blocks. The room was perfect with no problems. The staff was very friendly and helpful. If the need arises I'll stay here again.

Everybody was very friendly. The hotel staff was awesome. I really enjoyed the free coffee in the candlewood cupboard. Thank you so much for the amazing stay. will come back and tell my family about this place.

I'm not sure why this hotel has such high ranking when cleanliness is something clearly lacking in this hotel. My room was worn out, dust everywhere and despite non smoking signs everywhere on the 3rd floor, the entire hallway smelled like a chimney at any given time.

Ok flew in later than normal so got to the hotel at 9pm. Ready to go to bed after a long day of travel. Walked in and lobby chairs looked old and upholstery ripped, front desk looked like a hoarders home. The worst part was there was no one at the front desk! I waited for 18 minutes, I called out thinking maybe they were in the back but no answer, I called the hotel on my cell no answer... Started looking up other hotels nearby. Noticed the general managers business card (April) she apologized a... Read more

So, I needed a room for a week and only had a couple of days to book it before I arrived...I didn't want to spring for the most expensive option in town, so I went with Candlewood because it was close to where I had my meetings. At first glance of the place...I was a little nervous. It looks like the building was recently spray painted and inside was ok. The front desk was always nice, so I can't complain about that. It just seemed like the hallways and doors to the rooms were all pretty dirty a... Read more

We were placed in a room. On the second floor. There was a foul smell in our room, and without hesitation the front desk moved us into another room down the hall. I like that they didn't question me. Kids loved the room, and I liked how the bedroom had a door separating it from the living area.

Rooms are old. Hallway stinks of stale smoke! That's your first impression! And as if that is not bad enough, the rooms are tiny - didn't even have sheets to make the sofa bed! Just a blanket and two pillows thrown in the closet! Stay as far away as possible from this dump!!!

The room I was in wreaked of smoke smell, carpet was old and torn hairs in bathtub and gobs of hair on bathroom floor behind door. The bed had old looking sheets on it. Trash underneath bed. Im telling you, do not stay and do not spend your hard earned money at this dump. The front desk morning person was so rude. The general manager said its not her problem that we had complaints about our stay at the hotel. The only person that was helpful and respective was the housekeeping manger which I ca... Read more

Hotel is in a good location. Lots of nice shopping centers nearby. Was greeted by a friendly front desk worker. I stayed in the one bed room suite which was good since the children could sleep on the pull out sofa. Hotel wasn't too noisy, bed was comfortable. Overall I had a great stay. I really liked that everyone was friendly and did what they could to ensure a great stay.

Our room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The desk clerk was courteous and accommodating. I don't ask for any more than that for an overnight stay. My husband and I are nonsmokers and we did note the smell of smoke in the hallways and elevator. It was not strong but may be a problem if you are overly sensitive.

The General Manager was very rude and not helpful at all. She kept telling me she could do nothing to accommodate me with no working ac unit in my room. It was leaking water on the carpet. She told me her maintenance man leaves at 3pm. very odd to me due to complaints I was hearing from a guest who has been living there for a while. I called the front desk that morning and told them my ac was not working so why would the the maintenance leave without coming to fix the problem. Other than that on... Read more

Extended stay for work about 2 times a year over the past several years. Not a bad place at all. Always a friendly staff, pet friendly, rooms are always clean. The appliances are out dated (but that doesn't really bother me as long as it's clean). Also there is a big laundry room that is free! Always an awesome bonus. Only negative thing I have to say is that if you have to stay in a smoking room due to nonsmoking rooms being sold out I would recommend going elsewhere bc the smoking rooms smel... Read more

We were staying in town for the Carolina Renaissance Festival. Upon arrival we located the hotel easily. Carts were available in the lobby for us to load our things onto. April was helping customers when I arrived to check in but I waited patiently in the back. She noticed me waiting, asked if I already had a reservation, and because I did, she was able to provide me with a room key immediately. I signed some papers and I was on my way up to the room. The room was a great temperature when w... Read more

Room was clean, front desk staff was nice and helpful, but hotel needs MAJOR renovations and upgrades!! There were stains everywhere, paint peeling, old and dirty appliances in the room, and the Candlewood "welcome rug" in the elevator was horrendously dirty. Not a good looking hotel, looks very old and dirty! Would be great if renovated! If I am in the area again, I would stay at a different hotel.

I chose this hotel because it is very close to my home. Very convenient when people want to visit me. It is pet friendly. The bed is VERY comfortable with quality linens and a lovely down (or down alternative) comforter with 4 fluffy pillows. The room also offered a full size refrigerator and a small, well stocked kitchenette. The TV had lots of cable channels including HBO. Since it was used literally just for sleeping, we didn't use the many amenities, including a well equipped gym and FREE wa... Read more
