5 star Staff is excellent, rooms are clean & comfortable, price is great. Location is just off the interstate. Breakfast is hot & plentiful with happy service. Couldn't ask for better stop while travelling the I95 corridor. Pool looked clean & refreshing although the weather wasn't cooperating for a swim. If you're planning a stop this should be the place.

I stayed here one night on a business trip. The staff were very friendly. The room was clean and spacious. The only thing that was missing in the room was a refrigerator. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel offered a Happy Hour but I was not able to attend. All rooms go to the outside and there is no interior corridor. I would stay here again.

Did not expect this hotel to actually be a motel. I am very accustomed to the Hampton Inn's across the country and have never encountered a motel type INN. I was even more disappointed that corporate guest relations could not find better accomodations for my party of 4 adults. Future guest need to be aware that this is a motel setting where room doors are on the outside of building. Rooms and furniture are clean but very out dated and beds are not what you are expecting from a Hampton Inn. Ro... Read more

I am shocked this dumpy motel is a Hilton. This place is the quality of a very bad motel 6. It is the same layout as a motel 6. The rooms are very small, gross and old. The worst thing was our room was gnat infested. There were tons of very small flies in our room. I brought my coffee from breakfast into the room and went back for a sip and there were at least 6 flies on it. At night when I brushed my teeth flies were all in my face. I stopped counting at 20. On our way to NYC from MIA this is a great mid-way point in terms of distance as well as a nice hotel. The hotel itself is old but my room was clean. The best part was when we arrived on Wednesday evening we checked in and the lobby seating area was full of guests having wine and finger foods. We booked the room through Hilton.com being Hilton/Hampton members. It was a great deal for a Hampton Inn, but our long experience with Hampton has shown that there is always a certain level of quality we could depend on - or so we though. Imagine our surprise when we stopped there, instead of the welcoming blue Hampton Sign, there was this big block black background Hampton Inn sign. The lobby looked like a typical Hampton Inn Lobby. Very disappointed in my stay. Reserved a room with 2 beds, did early check in, arrived at 11:00 at night, was given a king size bed. The hotel has no interior halls, so had to walk outside, in a not so safe area to change rooms. I was given the wrong walking directions to my new room which then turned out to be on the second floor all way at the opposite end of the building and on the opposite side. I was very disappointed that the room I had reserved and did early check in was not available.

The rug on the floor by the a/c was soaking wet from another leak. There was a bad odor from the dampness in the room. I love the Hampton pillow and beds. When you stay at this hotel, the lady that assists with the breakfast is always cheerful and singing, even at 6:00 in the morning. They typically have a happy hour on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Stop reviewing this hotel from this point forward. This is not a typical Hampton Inn. Just the surface looks like a Hampton. The name should be Motel 6. We had one more stay before our 10 hr ride home. The room was old, the AC rattled and had a grinding noise all night. The bed and pillows were not like all the other Hampton Inns I have stayed in. The shower knob would hardly turn, a senior citizen would not be able to turn the shower on. Now the worst part, This hotel hosted a Motorcycle party ... Read more

Diamond Member, stayed at hundreds of hotels, motels and resorts. This was the nastiest room I have ever stayed in. Hair in sink, tub, pillows had yellow stains and hair inside the sheets. Room smelled like mold and smoke. Furniture is extremely outdated, better off staying at motel 6. I have no clue how this can be called a Hampton Inn!

Stayed at a Hampton Inn in Savannah and it was clean, up-to-date and I was thoroughly satisfied. A few days later on the way back home I specifically looked for another Hampton Inn to spend the night at. We had a visitor from Holland with us and I wanted to impress him. What a disappointment at this motel. It is run down. Furniture is very dated, carpet has spots on it (don't go barefoot), dirty appearance outside room and inside and it stinks near the staircases. Won't come back to this one. I'... Read more

Stayed here only because I was too exhausted to keep driving, and I generally try to stay at Hilton-owned properties. The night time desk staff were very friendly. This is really a motel whose rooms all have outside doors and no elevator to the second floor. So no good for anyone with limited mobility. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom area was clean. But the AC was noisy and glowed with lights like a landing strip. I assume some of the other guests were truckers, since there were truck... Read more

Hampton Inns deliver a high standard of performance and this hotel lived up to the great Hampton reputation. The management went out of there way to service our party. Thanks to their out-of-the-box thinking, the hotel has the best kept secret in North Carolina by way of their singing hostess - Miss Shelby Sunshine. If the good coffee doesn't lift your spirits, Shelby will serenade you and send you out the door with a smile on your face. It's worth the trip!

I am a long time loyal Hampton Inn customer. I was shocked by the condition of this old hotel. To be fair the staff was outstanding and there is a new Hampton Inn being built down the road near the intersection with I-95. The rooms are circa 1960. Access to rooms is outdoors!!! No elevators.

Very personable reception personnel (from the time of check-in, later in the evening and to the time of check out). In the morning we noticed ants in the room (by the desk and all over my PC). Did not feel the room was particularly clean High five to Sidney (I think was her name) at the breakfast buffet: great personality and very attentive to the guests' needs. Would not go back to this hotel, given the opportunity.

We were there during the Hurricane without power. The staff went above and beyond to do everything they could under the circumstances. Have never seen any staff in a hotel respond like these did. They provided bottled water. The General Manager was notified and brought in more bottled water and food for a meal for us. We couldn't ask for anymore. Just power, but that was beyond them.

This is a converted old motel. You enter your room from outside parking lot doors. The room smelled old and musty. The carpet looked like it had been there for decades. I would not walk barefoot on it. Everything worked, but it was all very old. I did not feel comfortable or all that safe. This 'hotel' is not what I expect from a Hampton Inn. I won't be staying here again.

I booked this hotel because of the location to my work area. The staff is Top Notch. The hotel, I've been told is the last one of Hampton's oldest models, yet it's clean, nice and great location to restaurants and close to Freeways. New location being built up the Highway. Great price, wonderful breakfast and Excellent staff.

I was terribly disappointed with this hotel! I have been staying at Hampton Inn's for a long time, and when I opened the door to the room, the smell of old cigarettes and musk filled the room. The carpet was the oldest carpet I have ever seen and was torn. This entire room needed to be remodeled. The only thing I recognized was the white blanket on the bed. Nothing about this room reminded me of a Hampton Inn! The second night the power went out in the entire street (during Matthew) and be... Read more

The good: excellent staff, professional, friendly, and the breakfast hostess makes you start your day with a smile whether you want to or not. And, the room we had was quite clean, as was the lobby. The room cost 76.50 with AAA discount. The not so good: The only thing Hampton about this was the sign! It looks like an old Travel Lodge or abandoned Rodeway Inn. I was fortunate to find a room at all during the major flooding in the area. Sarah was the front desk clerk that helped me so much. She was an absolute doll and a hem of a staff member, seemingly somewhat new, maybe, but had a great sense of customer service. The property is an old one. It is in need of a lot of upgrading and some general structure or facade repair. For what they gave me as a rate, it was very satisfactory.

This was an older Hampton Inn hence 4 stars rather than 5. However, there was a happy hour with meatballs, cold cuts, crackers, chips, beer and wine. I usually avoid these but the food was really good and the highlight was Shelby the 'singing hostess' who made everyone comfortable, started conversations and provided fantastic service. It looked to me like rooms were cared for and cleaned regularly, but that the property was just worn out and in need of some renovations. For example, the bathroom. Nice fixtures in the bathroom, everything was clean, but there were cracks in the grout and at the crown of the wall. Other examples that this property needs work: the carpet was obviously vacuumed, but stained beyond redemption and the HVAC unit was very, very loud. The walls were thin, but this might have had something to do... Read more

This is a basic Hampton Inn, nothing special. The only downside is the Outdoor Access to the rooms. I would prefer an Interior Hallway. Breakfast Buffet had a nice selection. Outdoor pool looked clean. The Lobby was small but adequate. It looks as though this was another hotel chain and Hampton Inn bought the property. The grounds and room were clean. I did see a patch in the carpet and had some difficulty working the door handle at first attempt.

Do I start with the positive or the negative? First a warning, this is a motel, not a hotel. Rooms have outside entrances only. In inclement weather this is not the best. This is an older building, and my room was on the smaller side however it was very clean with newer carpeting and nice linens and pillows. The breakfast is excellent with good coffee and fresh fruit, and generally a good selection. The staff is generally friendly. That is my story of yin and yang.

We chose Hampton Inns for the better class accommodations. For the higher price we paid we got a reworked 60's motel. In addition the bathtub faucet was impossible for my wife to turn and the sofa had broken springs in the backrest. On the plus side, the staff cheerfully refunded half of our bill. We travel several times a year to Charleston from the mid Atlantic and we like to stay one night halfway to ease the journey. While this hotel is in this area, we will stay elsewhere in the futur... This is probably a Hampton converted from an old motel. It is not modern, but it is spotless. The beds are new, it has a flat screen TV, a microwave and a refrigerator. The staff is friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast is good. Unless you need or want more modern or glitz, this is a comfortable place to spend a night. It is right off of I 95, there is a Ruby Tuesday's across the way, and it is convenient.

The hotel room is a "motel" room. The furniture is damaged making it feel like a cheaper brand than the Hampton brand. Front staff is not particularly helpful or friendly. Inexpensive option on I-95, but it is of poor quality that you could probably go with a lesser hotel "brand" and do better for a similar experience. Rollaway beds are NOT available for any rooms with 2 doubles or sofa beds, so you are limited to a 4 person room.

This is an older property with room entrances to the outside. Not uncommon for I-95. I have stayed at many Hampton Inn properties because they are generally consistent quality except for age and style of property. However, this is the first Hampton Inn I have stayed where I wish I had not.
