While the Hampton Inn is not a luxury hotel, as a Hilton property, the rooms and amenities are predictably good. We have no complaints about this hotel. The reason for the 3 stars is simply that it is not luxurious in any way. The breakfast was very good... Lots of choices and nicely prepared. The room was clean and tidy. (We did notice a bit of mildew around the shower door.)

This is one of the GREATS! As a veteran road warrior, I stay in hotels scores of nights yearly. I prefer the Hilton nameplates which include Hamptons. Generally, these a predictably good hotels. But, the Elizabeth City Hampton stands out. From the time of our arrival, Tiffany (at the front desk) went out of her way to make everything perfect. This young lady is a jewel. The rooms were clean. The housekeepers could not have been kinder. The breakfast was the typical fare...but the dining area wa... Read more

This is an old property and the rooms were badly outdated and small. It was really overpriced as well, so I'm thinking something must have been going on in town to make the demand that high. Was definitely not worth the $150 per night to stay. It was in a pretty good location and easy to find and there were dining choices around that were easy to find. I would probably find another hotel if in the area again. Also, they did not have self-service laundry facilities, which I use when on long ... Read more

The hotel was clean. And staff was excellent. I will stay there again. In fact I won't stay anywhere else. The only thing is, the complimentary breakfast could have been breakfast. I'm usually satisfied with eggs only, but these eggs were not good at all. I'm well aware they were powdered, but the cheese didn't even melt.

That actual hotel is slightly "dated" but the cleanliness of the facility & rooms and the stellar-first class treatment of the EVERY staff person outweighed the slightly less than update-to-date facility.
