OK, but no cafe inside hotel. Complete breakfast until 10am. Hotel was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful, and this hotel is excellent for families with young children. However, because there was no restaurant or cafe within the hotel, it wasn't so good for us, with young adults who sleep late, and want brunch at odd hours.

Nice for location and price. Pleasant stay. Area isolated because only two lane highway and signs indicate traffic delays on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Would anticipate tough going in summer season as it is only road available to mainland. Road is virtually dead end.

Was on the third floor with a balcony so we opened our sliding door every night and listened to the waves and the frogs croaking. In the morning the birds singing. Beautiful sunrises...yummy breakfast and warm cookies in the evening! Helpful staff and mascot Sysco! Long walks on the beach looking for birds and seashells....Hated to leave!

The hotel rooms were quite comfortable, however we had to rinse out the bathtub before using it because there was some residue. The hotel was somewhat quiet, but you could hear just about everything happening in the hall, and some of the doors practically required slamming to get shut all the way. My party had to switch rooms, because the first was filled with flies and mosquitoes, but the front desk staff was very nice and accommodating. My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend away recently. We requested a room with an ocean view, and we were put on the second floor with a sand bank between us and the ocean. :-\ We could kind of see the water if we stood in the corner of the balcony. Our room was lovely and huge, and we found the bed to be super cozy. The room and the hotel overall seems like it could use some updating. We opted to stay at Hampton/Corolla because as a small family, a condo just wasn't cost efficient for us. Getting breakfast daily and access to 3 pools and a beach was also a bonus. Rooms very clean, lobby big, breakfast options varied daily (which is nice - some hotels just offer the same thing every day). The beach, of course was fabulous. The bed is very springy and worn. The toilet ran every time it was flushed. You had to re-flush or jiggle the handle to stop the toilet from running. The sink was clogged. Housekeeping did not show on the second day after telling the front desk twice. The front desk person came and emptied the trash and restocked the towels himself. Beautiful beach but the hotel is disappointing for the rate they charge.

My family stayed for 4 nights at this wonderful hotel. The beach area is great and the hotel provides umbrellas, chairs and body boards to help with the fun in the surf. The staff is very helpful and the pools are sparkling clean. At night the hotel has a hunt for ghost crabs on the beach. This Hampton Inn sits on an idyllic stretch of beach, just south of Corolla in the less crowded northern section of the Outer Banks. The nearest houses are a respectable distance away, resulting in low density of people on the beach. We booked before a weeklong house rental to avoid the whole Duck Road fiasco on a Saturday. We had hemmed and hawed because the rate was so high with a two night minimum stay, but pulled the trigger to avoid the traffic. Overall, our impression is that it was a nice clean hotel, if a bit dated in the room. We arrived early, and the room was not ready until exactly at check-in time, which is fine as it's the busy summer season. The staff helpfully offered use of the pool and beach, and indi... Read more

Excellent staff, very friendly, nice pool, good beach, longest beach ever, need to have free umbrella and chairs...at 20$ per day each it gets expensive. Need more shade around the pool. Breakfast was as good as you will find. Free coffee, tea, and chocolate all day. Don't miss the free chocolate chip cookies around 6 pm. I liked the place, beach is close and exercise room and indoor pool are nice.

The Inn was very nice, the beach, absolutely beautiful. Will I return to this Inn? No. Will I return to the Outerbanks? Most definitely. Let me tell you why. This was my first visit to the Outerbanks with my family. We travelled all the way from New Hampshire. About 45 minutes after leaving to return home, I suddenly realized that I had forgotten a dress and another personal item in our room. I immediately called the Inn. Our family recently visited for a four night stay. The good: location (if you don't want to be around anything), the general condition of the hotel, and the beach access/pools. The bad: all but one morning the warm breakfast was cold, our toliet broke so we went 18 hours without a toliet (the second time I complained they comped that one night), and most disturbing was that my wife had a group of large silver bracelets that were stolen. We had checked out, called housekeeping several times (wit... Read more

If you're staying in the Corolla/Duck area and aren't renting a house or condo, the selection is pretty slim. This Hampton Inn is as good or better than any Hampton I've stayed in. The breakfast is standard Hampton fare, but they keep it well stocked and clean considering the traffic that goes through every morning. Location is great although not cheap (close to $300/n). It is right on the beach with great amenities. For that price, the breakfast is just ok, not exceptional. The hotel is clean and staff is great. The only issue is the drainage of the tub. I forgot to report it.

We had a first floor double queen facing the dune. It was great to walk out on the patio to the pool and to the pathway to the beach. Also nice to park on the side and easy walk to side building entrance rather than go thru lobby all the time. Room was spacious and everything was working. Only constructive feedback is that room is starting to appear dated and breakfast was standard Hampton. Was hoping for a little local flair for breakfast given it was at OBX.

Overpriced. Our ocean front room was definitely not worth the extra money. The only view of the ocean was through a small sliding glass door.
