We stayed at this hotel because we were visiting the casino and it was very close. Not up to the standards of most Holiday Inn properties I have stayed at in the past. Very expensive, thin walls but great people working the front desk!

Have stayed at many Holiday Inn Express and expect a certain level. Being renovated and it needs it. Everything had a weird smell, including towels (fuel fumes?). Pool is outdoor. Way overpriced for what you receive. Breakfast buffet was missing several items as outlets weren't working

We stayed there on our visit to Smoky Mountains in the NC side. Beautiful location and the hotel was as expected for a HIX property. The staff is very nice. I did notice that the breakfast is not a normal spread from a HIX. Room was ok for one night.

Great location, easy 5 minute walk to Harrah's Casino. Nice lobby and really nice and large breakfast room. Older furniture in rooms but bed is really comfortable. Quiet with no road or highway noise. Room and bathroom were immaculate. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was very good. Full time breakfast attendant to keep food and coffee ready and breakfast room clean.

The hotel was finishing up their renovations which was not a problem for us. There was an odor (as mentioned by another reviewer) that comes from new carpet. The room was clean. The staff was friendly, courteous and helpful. The breakfast was good Good location - walking distance to casino. Moderately priced.

This is a nice hotel and it is located directly across the street from The Cherokee Casino. I woul've given if five stars, but they were doing a lot of updates while we were there which was kind of a pain, especially when they called my room when I had a Do Not Disturb sign on the door. Glad they are updating however. There was a problem with the breakfast because they had expired milk out. Otherwise, nice stay.

We stayed here on a recent trip to Cherokee. Our main focus was checking out the casino and hiking. We usually stay at other Holiday Inn Express hotels when we travel. This hotel in Cherokee was older, but recently renovated. The lobby and breakfast area were nice. The rooms were simple and could probably use a little more touch up. It was a short 5 minute walk to the casino. The staff was great and very courteous. They were very helpful and attentive. For the little time we spent in our room, w... Read more

Pleasant experience at the hotel. Note they are renovating but at this time it wasn't anything major and we had no problems with that. Room had fridge and microwave. Staff gave us info on where to get good pizza (and which ones delivered). They also came through with a corkscrew which I'd forgotten. Nice clean and quiet room with good AC. No printer with the "lobby" computer but I was able to use the front desk computer to print up some stuff.

Came to Cherokee to watch Gabriel "Fluffy" Iglesias. Booked a room at the Holiday Inn for it's close proximity to the casino (walking distance) and the price. Hot breakfast served in the morning from 6am to 930am. Friendly staff...no complaints!

Our room was great. It was a handicap room and was huge. Plenty of room for wheel chair. The beds are about the best I have ever slept on in a hotel. The hotel was clean and well kept. The breakfast bar was fantastic. But the noise was awful. Kids running up and down the hall knocking on doors. We went to the door several times only to find no one there. I really think management should get control of the noise. It made a great stay a not so great stay.

We spent two nights here while touring the area. This hotel has been recently refurbished and everything looks and smells brand new. The room was nice and the free breakfast was as good as can be expected. On the 2nd night, we could hear some noise from our upstairs neighbors. That's the only issue we had. Easy walk to Harrah's Casino.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express while attending the Drama "Unto These Hills". Newly remolded, clean, quiet, comfortable. Great pool. The front desk and employees were great. The location is centrally located near all the activity of the the Indian Reservation. Would highly recommend and hope to go back in the near future.

Stayed here for a recent visit because I couldn't get a room a the casino hotel. Have to say the room was just as good as anything I've had at the casino. The room had everything I needed, including free wifi (which the casino doesn't give you) a refrigerator and a comfortable bed and clean bathroom. Everything was quiet on the third floor. Cinnamon rolls for breakfast were great (and included!) The casino was just across the road but thought getting across the street was a bit treacherou... Read more

I finally used my IHG rewards points and booked two rooms (one for the mother in law) for two nights at the Cherokee, N.C. Holiday Inn. The hotel is across the street from the casino and close to other attractions. The staff was professional and very friendly. Amanda (the front desk clerk) will make your stay enjoyable and Sarah (kitchen server) will kept the breakfast as fresh and stocked for the last person as with the first. When you stay at this hotel be prepared for a friendly experience.

We stayed here for just one night, but enjoyed it greatly. We were greeted warmly upon arrival and found our room to be very clean and well appointed. The short walk to the casino was very convenient, and the free breakfast far exceeded my expectations. There was a nice selection and the area was kept tidy and organized. We will be staying here again, and I would recommend the Holiday Inn Express Cherokee to anyone.

For a Holiday Inn express, I was very disappointed with my stay. Hotel grounds and room very clean, but I think they spent more money on advertising than construction. Walls are very poorly insulated. We could hear people walking in the room above us, people in the hall talking and someone using the bathroom in the room next to us! If you DON'T want to sleep, this hotel is the one for you.

For a hotel that is normally a good place to stop, this Holiday Inn Express fell short. It had a very unpleasant odor in the hallways and our room like it had been occupied by pets and then not cleaned well. The room was old and dated and noisy. We did not enjoy the stay and did not have the breakfast because of the unpleasant odors. We are members of the rewards club for Holiday Inn products and were not recognized as such.

Clean, basic hotel, good breakfast. Small outdoor pool. Very friendly and helpful staff. You may want to ask for a high floor to avoid noise from above hotel guests. We could hear walking all night as we were on ground floor.

I recently stayed here for 1 night as I was going to be gambling across the street at the Harrah's Cherokee Casino. The hotel at the casino was charging something insane like $300 a night. I go to Las Vegas all the time and would expect to pay that for the premium properties. I found the Holiday Inn to be a solid hotel. It was newish, clean, and conveniently located. The beds were moderately comfortable. The bathroom shower was kind of gross. The lobby was quite charming with a breakfast area,... Read more

Had a room on the second floor. Room was extremely nice & clean. There was a free breakfast that included hot and cold food. I would highly recommend this hotel. The only negative thing I had was that on Sunday morning at 7:00 am, the trash truck came too dump the hotel dumpster. It was a little loud and woke us up for about 10 minutes. Other than that, this hotel is one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in.

Hotel was clean and bed was comfortable. Only major problem was the door to the room we had difficulty opening. After inserting Key Card door would be stuck. Not much to do in area. Restaurants are very minimal and not very clean. This hotel is good for an overnight only. I would not recommend spending to much time in the area. Not really much to do other than go to the casino which is very tight. We did have breakfast at the hotel which was okay. Not really that much to offer.

quick trip to the mountains for weekend, primarily to go to Harah's. Room ready when checked in, fast. Large room, coffee maker, micro, fridge. Average bathroom. Walking distance to casino, ok but wouldnt want to do it in Dec-Feb, no shuttle service from hotel I was told. Overall very good, But worth 250.00 for Saturday night stay, not really but hotels have you just where they want in the city. One plus, comp breakfast left open until 11am for late risers, thank you

What a disappointment compared to other Holiday Inn Express hotels I have stayed in for many years now. Bed was a lumpy mattress, pillows were flat, given a room outside the ice machine that someone needed to fill every morning at 6am, faced the parking lot of horns blowing and sirens going off, breakfast space too small for the number of guest, staff would not even acknowledge you as you passed by - however, they seemed to pick and choose who they might wish to speak with. Across from the casino. People coming and going all night, laughing, carrying on, shouting part of the time. Could hear them in the parking lot shouting. Finally called the front desk at 4 am. Was quiet for awhile. Pillows smelled of smoke, the room didn't, but the room was very musty, stale upon entry. My husband and I have stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Cherokee several times, initially because of its proximity to Harrah's, which is a short walk across the street. It has never disappointed us. We stayed for 2 nights while attending a concert at Harrahs Casino and found the hotel to be extremely convenient to the casino. It was a short few minute walk between the two properties. The hotel has been remodeled to a certain degree but it isn't as nice as many of the other Holiday Inn properties that we've stayed in. Beware--the walls are paper thin!
