The hills of North Carolina call to visitors from all over the world. This hotel is situated right at the entrance of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, one of the most beautiful spots in the country.

The Cherokees have always called this area home. Ancient tribe lore tells of hunters tracking mastodon. Dating of stone tools shows inhabitants in the area as far back as 11,000 years ago. The Cherokees that remain today are descendants of those who defied the Trail of Tears, hiding in the nearby hills. Today, they preserve the culture, traditions and history of their ancestors.

Make sure to visit the Oconaluftee Indian Village, you can explore that history firsthand. The village shows Cherokee traditions and crafts circa 1750. You`ll see crafts, hear stories and come away with a much stronger understanding of Cherokee culture. Guests to the nearby Great Smoky Mountains National Park may bike through Cades Cove; choose from more than 800 miles of hiking trails, visit some of the 80 historic structures or rent a horse for a trot through the forest. It`s all within minutes of this hotel.

This is a smaller Hampton Inn, but clean & decent. I wouldn't say it was my favorite (AC in room wasn't great) but definitely a good choice for the area. It is just outside of the main drag in Cherokee so it would be quieter during the busy season.

This hotel is a really nice and quaint property in Cherokee NC. While not in the smack center of Cherokee, its well situated and not far from everything. Lovely views. Rooms are nice and well maintained. Breakfast is in keeping with Hampton Inn traditions and the property has ample parking. Staff is very nice and attentive and will help you every time. All in all a nice hotel for a weekend getaway.

Going through the mountains on a weekend and didn't have reservations anywhere, just winging it! There is a casino very close by that had a sold out crowd due to a concert. Most of the hotels within 3 blocks were full. This Hampton Inn is "6 lights down" as the casino valet told us. We expected they would be full, but when I went in, I was told they had one room left. Lucky for us! Extremely clean, very friendly employees, those awesome Hampton Inn beds, and a full hot breakfast. I would go bac... Read more

Room clean, quiet (on back away from highway), minor need of repair (tub stopper did not work). At first they argued about my reservations. I offered my copy from my e-mail. Turned it down, but finally found the correct information. What they do not tell you about is their contingency fee that will be charged to your account. I do not like surprises on my charge card, and I think legally they have to tell you about all charges put on your charge card, even if they plan on reversing it after... Read more

We loved our stay here! Our first room was not to our liking (the room was fine, we just prefer a larger bed) and the front desk quickly changed our room with no problems. Our second room was perfect! Everything was clean and well-appointed. We needed dinner and had questions about the area - the front desk staff gave great recommendations and excellent directions. Our favorite part of the stay was breakfast. While the food was good, it was pretty standard for what you will find at any Ham... Read more

Not sure if you could call it scrambled eggs. More like cubes of yoke. The sausage didn't look like sausage, but tasted like sausage (spice flavor). This may have been turkey or something. The breakfast area where you get your meal is cramped if they have a lot of people staying at the hotel. The hotel was nice and clean and the beds comfortable. I would stay here again, but avoid the eggs and sausage.

We had a very pleasant overnight stay at the hotel at the end of our trip down the Blue Ridge Parkway. Cherokee itself is about the tackiest town we have seen in a long time, a town purely aiming at exploitation. But the hotel is off the beaten track, out of the middle of the mess. The breakfasts were excellent, maid service attentive to our needs, internet service great and general ambience warm and inviting. We will definitely come back for our next reunion!

Best Hampton Inn I have ever stayed at! The hotel was packed with guests and I could not tell, no noise what so ever. It was wonderful! I will stay here again for business. I recommend for all who visit Cherokee NC.

Stayed two nights here to enjoy Smoky Mt. National Park. This appears to be an older Hampton as carpet is well worn and lobby is very small. Breakfast area is quite limited but breakfast does include the usual Hampton variety of hot and cold selections. Staff is very pleasant. Rooms are clean with microwave and refrigerator. Has an outdoor pool. Not close to restaurants.

Overall, this is a nice, clean hotel. The 3 rating is because although the room we stayed in was designated "No Smoking," the room stunk of old cigarette smoke. Not pleasant for two non-smokers. In addition, my wife asked one of the desk employees about the non smoking room. The employee was less than friendly and made no attempt to explain or take action. We stayed the night anyway, but will not return.

We loved staying here, as it's not quite in the center of things, therefore a little quieter, yet a quick drive anywhere around the Cherokee area, as well as the lovely Bryson City. Our room was nice, with Microwave & mini-fridge. The bathroom was very nice, beautiful granite countertop. The bed was very comfortable, pillows are a little small, if you shake them out, they become "full-sized". The towels are luxurious, too! We enjoyed the pool, again, nice towels. The breakfast was good, wi... Read more

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The front desk personnel were very pleasant. The rooms were very clean, a little dated but on the most part very comfortable. Not enough handicap parking up front of the hotel. The breakfast food was pretty good, a little cold but all in all not bad for a hotel complimentary breakfast. The breakfast staff was very helpful in giving you things that were not out at the time. We would definitely stay here again

Very friendly staff and knowledgeable of the area. Very clean rooms and I love the bed! Slept like a log!! The breakfast buffet was one of the best (great variety) and a delightful and friendly staff that catered to one's needs. Book early!! By the way, around 4-5 in the afternoon, fresh baked chocolate chip are available.

The hotel is located about a mile south of downtown Cherokee. The hotel was clean the room was large, wifi worked in the room, and there was the usual good Hampton Breakfast. Clerks at the front desk were very friendly. Would return if in the area. Close to entrance of Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Our room was on the side facing the street and until 10:30 loud motorcycles kept going by revving up their engines. Breakfast was good and checkout went fast and smooth. Front desk could have been more friendly and helpful. We stayed one night and found a like motel for less than half and got a king bed! There should NEVER be this much difference! Every motel offered us the same access to the leaf colors, Great Smokey Mountains National Park, and the wild life!

Our stay at the Hampton Inn Cherokee for two nights was outstanding. We purposely chose this hotel so we could get an early start to visit the Great Smoky Mountains National Park during one of the busiest weekends of the year due to the fall foliage. The staff, Justina D. Bentivogli, was especially helpful in providing a great restaurant for which we ate twice since the food and service was so good. Justina also gave us great tips about the area to include Mingo Falls. We appreciate her prof... Read more

Very clean, close to town, shopping small shops, and to the Casino. Beds are supper comfy. Breakfast was standard fare found at all Hampton hotels. Only issue was the exit out of the parking area, one must use real caution when making a left to go into Town due to traffic coming from a blind curve.

We have stayed at this hotel before, and returned because of the good rates and the location. It is very close to Bryson City, and the casino, and only 30 minutes from Gatlinburg. The rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, and the breakfast staff is awesome. I have met the general manager both times that we stayed, and she is extremely nice. However, the front desk people are not as friendly as she is. I would also recommend that when making reservation, ask for a front facing room. Last time w... Read more

Traveling around the country, we always stay with Hilton properties. Check in was easy, the room was Hilton quality. Returning after dinner readying to relax, shoes off. Stepped next to the bed.... it was WET and sticky. No biggie, a non visible spill had happened from a previous guest. (put on your sandals when in and out of bed). The AC had a horrible loud noise that lasted five minutes every 30 minutes making it difficult for a full restful sleep. Coffee would fix that. Upon check-out,... Read more

Our room was clean and well maintained and had a microwave and mini fridge. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was a nice size. The heating/ac unit was very noisy, and one night we had to turn it off in order to get some sleep. The wifi worked well, and the breakfast was the usual Hampton offerings. There was a very small fitness room with a treadmill and an exercise bike. The hotel is a short drive into town and area attractions, including the Smoky Mountains National Park. There's ... Stayed at this Hampton during the midst of the Matthew evacuations. We were lucky to get our room. It wasn't in the area where the largest concentrations of hotels are in Cherokee but that was advantageous since it was a quieter location. Check in was smooth, coffee bar was right by the check in and that was nice. Our room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was all inclusive meaning toilet, sink and tub all in the same room. We didn't use the pool or work out equipment. The parking lo... Read more

Great price and great service. Excellent free breakfast in the morning. The breakfast changes each day, Eggs, sausage, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, western omelets... fresh fruit, cereals, yogurts....everything we wanted was available. Cherokee transit runs about every 30 min. to take guest to the casino; price $1 each way.

Nice little Hampton Inn in the mountains. It is well run, very clean and quite. Easy access to eateries, the casino and major Hwys for travel. I stay here a lot when in the area. Plenty of flea markets, antiquing and skiing nearby. Fresh clean rooms and friendly staff who know the area.

best check-in process I've had in ages.....staff smiles all the way around. Most hotels I've stayed in make this part of the stay a real chore. Time from announcing I had a reservation to getting my room key was less than 2 minutes. Only issues with my 2 night stay was getting used to the mini pillows and no TV channel guide in the room. If there was one, it wasn't in plain site...no big issue. Will definitely stay at this property when I next go to Cherokee
