The hotel looks old and in need of a modernization. Check in was quick but check in girl could be more smiley. We stayed here for a concert at the PNC Music Pavilion. When we checked in, we asked at the front desk if there was a shuttle to venue. The lady said she'd check & let us know. She never called, so we called the front desk. A man said he'd check & call us back in "2 minutes". Never heard from him. Saturday morning my husband went down & asked to see a manager. Stayed here again during my move to Charlotte; arrived on a Saturday after an 800+ mile drive to find hotel jam-packed with 5 family reunions and 2 weddings that weekend. Desk clerk Nick Heuring was outstanding- managed to find me a room and make the whole process better than the last time I stayed.... Ray Cannon and Tyrell Young ( the valet's out front) went above and beyond in helping me find a safe/easy place for my Uhaul truck and car being towed behind) I was worried but these two gentle... I returned to the Hilton Charlotte on Aug 4 and left on Aug 7th. Can't add much since my last visit about this time last year. They have clear water jugs in the lobby and banquet/conference rooms with fresh fruit for flavor. Never saw a water fountain. I was in room 606. Clean with FOUR pillows on the beds. Real pillows with stuffing. The ice bucket was stainless steel so the ice remained all night instead of turning to water over night. The flatscreen tv was crystal clear. The only prob... Read more

Great stay. The only ssue was the two of the elevators did not work Saturday evening and the hotel was packed with 5 family reunions and a convention. Had to walk up 8 flights of steps to the room. New digital AC system since last year which was great. Room service was fantastic and affordable. Loved the BBQ wings. Lots of places to eat and show that you can walk to. Love the outside fountain and walk trail around the plaza and lake.

Was traveling on a tour bus with a trailer. Good parking for our long vehicle. Things to do close by like shopping. It was easy to uber to places further away. I think this was the hotel with a shuttle that took you within 5 miles. I travel a lot and don't always have time to write notes on each place. All I remember is that I kept the card so that I could write a good review for this place. We stopped by to get a room for all of us to shower. We didn't stay the night.

Marieta Bryan quickly greeted us upon arriving for check in. Our room was not quite ready so she gave us complimentary drinks. She insured we were happy. Room is extremely clean and staff is very friendly. Food is also very good! We will definitely be back!

This is a very pleasant place to spend several days at leisure. The staff is friendly, helpful, courteous, and unobtrusive. The room accommodations are as clean and convenient as possible. I love the man made lake nearby with its swans, ducks, egrets and turtles who sometimes hang out very peaceably together on small rock islands. (Not the egrets. It's kind of fun to watch them chase everybody else of "their" rock.) The food is good and the dining area very spacious and tasteful. There always se... Read more

My stay at this hotel was excellent. My view of the lake/boardwalk was awesome.. The room was always very clean. The waitstaff at breakfast went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and the omelet chef always had a smile on her face. I would definitely recommend this hotel, and will be staying there again next time!

My family and I enjoyed our stay here. The staff was very friendly, professional and helpful. They have a breakfast buffet which is a little pricey but, the food was great. The rooms where very clean.Bed was very comfy. The hotel itself was very nice. They have a lake in the back of the hotel (in which you can walk around)and a little shopping area. Which was really nice. If you like to drink wine. They have a nice little spot across the lake where you can sit inside or outside and have a glass of... Read more

Checked in on a Saturday afternoon at 3:00 pm. Room was ready. Check in was fast and friendly. Lobby was a little chaotic with two family reunions and a large wedding reception going on. Parking lot was almost capacity. Room was very clean and furniture, walls and carpet was in very updated and good condition. Bedding was crisp and clean. Pillows were very comfortable. Bathroom was clean and updated fixtures. Was a little tight with door in the way to get to shower. Towels were thick and in good ... Read more

As usual with any Hilton, it was a good stay. Fast check-in and check-out, friendly helpful staff that cares, good food, and overall good experience, but I didn't expected any less. New mattresses were a little hard for my taste, but not any real problem.

I cannot say enough about the Hilton Charlotte University Place! I stayed here a couple of years ago and it was a nice place, great location. But my last stay (August 10-14, 2016) was the absolute best place for my wedding. From the time, I started planning back in May up until the actual day, the process was seamless. My wedding specialist, Katelyn Freeman, was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! She was the ultimate professional and the sweetest person you could ever work with. She made planning the wedding... Read more

Hotel room was nosey and in need of repair. A/C unit was loud and the tub faucet dripped all night. I was not made aware of their Make It Right policy. Would have excepted better quality for a Hilton. The conference center was nice and convenient. The food was excellent.

Overall the hotel was good. The room and lobby area were clean. You can start to see the wear and tear throughout the hall area. The only thing is I wish I had known it was a wedding depot. There was a wedding there everyday of our visit. We came for a relaxing weekend and people were everywhere for that reason I would not stay there again.

Not a good experience! We are Hilton honors members and this just might be the worst experience we've had at any property! We drove up to valet park and no one was attending. We waited for more than 15 minutes and still no one showed. We left car parked to check in and went upstairs to get dressed for event and when we came down , car was still parked where we left it and a note left on windshield. What? Non working elevators staff was aware and didn't bother to let anyone know. Asked several ti... Read more

We had a great time for our family gathering in Charlotte. The hotel was clean and the staff was very accommodating. There were a lot if large events going on the weekend, so it was crowded. However, we never felt like the service was lacking. This hotel is located next to an upscale shopping center and restaurant complex around a lake, near I-85 on a busy N Charlotte street. Most of the staff was friendly, but often poorly trained or unprofessional. When we entered our room, it was freezing - the thermostat had been set at 55 degrees, presumably by housekeeping. The entry door was sticking badly, so we had to crash into the room each time to force it open. There were many outlets, but half didn't work. The evening attendant in the co... Read more

Property and building has been in this location for some time. This is a full service Hilton that does a great job. You could not ask any more from the staff who is eager to please. The rooms are clean, great bed comfort and nice bathrooms as well. The Hilton Honors floor is way above average than other properties with great variety. The rate was reasonable as well. Well worth the stay if you are in Charlotte.

Went to Charlotte to participate in the Race Experience! Hotel was minutes from Charlotte airport and Charlotte Motor Speedway. Very convenient to tons of Charlotte's great restaurants. Room was modern, efficient and CLEAN! The Edgewater Bar and Grill in the hotel was great for craft beers and light meals. Had coffee outside near the pool overlooking the "lake". Would visit there again. Life is good! Bobby, the valet, was an especially personable and considerate young man.

We stayed in this hotel one night while we were in town for a concert at the PNC Pavilion. The location/proximity to the venue and price were the reasons we chose this hotel. The front desk welcome was friendly and efficient. The lobby felt modern and comfortable. We stayed on the 3rd floor corner room with a nice view of the lake of the shopping complex behind the hotel. Once again, the service at this very nice hotel was first-rate: courteous, attentive and prompt. Reema Shivani, at the front desk, was especially professional, kind and considerate as she represents this hotel exceedingly well. And, in the dining room, Tighi Haile always makes my breakfast experience feel like home. Thank you! As a famous general reportedly said: "I shall return!"
