Kind of a cool hip place and dog friendly too! My first time at an Aloft location, took us a while to get used to but very nice. Kind of a different concept for rooms with bins and open storage areas but it works. Exercise room, indoor pool, bar on main floor and a sort of breakfast restaurant which was perfect. The staff at the front desk was extremely nice and friendly while still being professional. They also have a shuttle to get you around if necessary. I will check out other locations down... Read more

The Ballantine location is very upscale area. Surrounding the Aloft is a perfect blend of commercial and natural settings. Plenty of shopping and restaurants to satisfy the shop-o-holic and a hungry appetite. The Aloft is very nice and had a new age modern appeal. It is very neat and clean cut so it's perfect for anyone that doesn't like or need fluff. The room design is small but well thought out . The bed and pillows were too firm for my taste but overall it was okay. My husband was called to... Read more

First time I have stayed at an Aloft. Great concept for business travel. Room was small but had everything you need. Clean, modern and stylish. Nice to have a bar at night and breakfast options in the morning. Free parking and helpful staff. Everything worked (Internet etc.) and no stress. Just what you want when you are traveling on business.

I recently stayed here because I had business in the area. The location was perfect and the business center and complimentary shuttle were great. What was unexpected (because I had never stayed at this brand property before) was how unique and fun in a modern industrial way the hotel was. I really enjoyed the youthful vibe and made my business travel a little more pleasant. They had live music in the lobby one of the nights I was there so that was nice to hang out on a comfortable couch and list... Read more

Everything about this hotel is intended to remind the international traveler of a European hotel, from the use of terms (lift instead of elevator, WC instead or restroom, etc.) to the setup of the rooms. There are a lot of amenities included. If you enjoy modern European hotels or if you want the experience without leaving the country I recommend this chain. This particular hotel is well-run with a great staff and the location is excellent. I don't care for the lighting setup as it doesn't w... Read more

Stay here often when visiting the Ballantyne area on business and absolutely love it. The hotel has some of the friendliest and helpful staff at the front desk, the rooms are fresh and clean and they have a convenient shuttle bus that gets you where you need to go. This last time I ordered in some food from a local delivery place they recommended and it was great and cost only $15. Traditional hotels you order in and they jack up the price for delivery and add service charge etc. This place make... Read more

My husband and I have stayed here several times when we come to visit family in the area. PROS - 1. We can bring our little dog and he is welcomed! 2. The bed is comfortable 3. Free wifi and water 4. Clean The room is sparse, the closet 'dorm-like' and you power your lights with the room key. Once you get used to it, it's kind of cool! For a stop over, it's a good deal. Not luxurious but good and basic.

My husband and I needed to get away from stress and said he didn't mind paying a bit more for a "nice" hotel. I remembered that there was an Aloft in our "backyard." He made a last-minute reservation on a Friday night and the hotel was able to accommodate our stay at the last minute. He was impressed with the room decor and overall comfort. I picked this hotel because I love the large shower and the comfy bed. The room was very clean and comfortable. I joked about how I want to take the be... Read more

My husband had a business trip in Ballantyne, so we tagged along (me, my toddler, and our fur-baby)! We got a king-size room, which was a little small, but it worked! I wish we booked the double-bed room because maybe we would've had some extra room! Anyway, this hotel by far was the cleanest I've ever encountered! Cleaning service in the room was top notch! This warranted 5-stars in my book! The managers should really give the cleaning people a raise because the cleanliness is what sets ... Read more

The staff was super friendly - from check-in to the bartender - and they have little perks, like free coffee in the morning. The furnishings were relatively new (seemed new to me), and the hotel is energy efficient. There was a cute courtyard that overlooked the indoor pool where people with laptops, or food, could easily sit to enjoy the pleasant weather. I was there for work in June 2016 and I had a very pleasant stay. I would recommend renting a car though. Things are close, but not withi... Read more

Last night in the lobby/bar was a talented musician with a great voice and tonight was a painting party. Shot some pool and listened to music. There is alway something interesting going on here. The rooms are comfortable including all you need and more. The entire staff has gone above and beyond being helpful and friendly. There is a shuttle bus to local restaurants, so we have been able to have a great variety of eats. I saw a cute dog this morning and there is a water and dog food bowl at... Read more

We always stay here whenever we are in Charlotte, for soccer. It is very affordable yet super professional and elegant. The layout of the hotel is very cool. The service and breakfast is great. The exercise room is nice as well. We always get a great sleep and the bed is super comfy. We have stayed here for over 10 nights and couldn't be happier.

I have stayed at many Aloft hotels and I have found them all to be exceptional. This one is no different. I love the modern vibe of the brand and the employees are always fantastic. Join SPG to get great deals and earn points towards travel! This hotel is not near the city center of Charlotte so just keep that in mind. It is just a small drive though.

The rooms are exactly what you would expect from an Aloft. They are the same everywhere. The rooms are always clean. There are 2 main things that set this hotel apart from other Alofts, one is the grounds surrounding the hotel. Nice place to take a walk or jog. The other is the staff, they are always great. Cheery and nice and have gone out of their way to be helpful. I have stayed here at least a half a dozen times for business and for personal. We have brought our dog on occasion, very pet fri... Stayed in this Aloft one night and we were quite pleased. The place was very clean. The best part was Hugh Haye, who was working at the breakfast area that morning. Such a nice guy. Very engaging and clearly excels in hospitality! Beds and pillows clean and comfortable. The only negative with this place was having to go back and forth with check in over the $10 breakfast credit we were offered. Really? Otherwise, nice stay.

My wife and I were I town for a wedding and this hotel was right next to the venue. Not much right by in walking distance but a short car ride has you at shops and restaurants. As this was our first time at an Aloft hotel we were not sure what to expect. The hotel has a very modern style. I liked the look of the lobby area. They had a nice bar, pool table, and food store. Very small front desk. The hallway decor felt forced, like they were trying too hard to be trendy. The rooms are a good... Read more

Not close to airport, but in an emerging area of Charlotte. Rate is competitive for area, and Aloft has a good minimalist approach to hotel: everything you need, nothing more nothing less. Staff tends to be massively attentive, so expect a quality stay.

We were at the hotel for a 3 night stay for a wedding and were very pleased with the accommodations. Both the lobby and the rooms were different than a standard chain hotel. The décor is modern, fresh and bright. My only complaint about the rooms is there is no dresser. We compared lots of Charlotte hotels before deciding on Aloft. We had a previous bad experience with the brand, but decided to give it another shot based on reviews. Our stay was a stopover between DC and Hilton Head. We knew the 4 teens would like the amenities, but my husband and I loved the pretty golf course view, cleanliness and quiet of this hotel. Having never stayed at an Aloft hotel prior to this visit, I wasn't sure what to expect outside of what the website provided and what the receptionist divulged upon booking. I realized upon check-in, that I clearly had not been provided with some important details about the hotel. The hotel is privately owned by the Bissell family, meaning that, if you have stayed in an Aloft hotel elsewhere, do NOT expect the same standards at this Aloft location. Before staying I read the reviews here...I was glad I did. I learned that it is a pet friendly hotel and to ask for a room on a non pet floor (I have allergies, so this was important). I noted this on my reservation, and when I checked in they were already aware of it and gave me a room on the 4th floor. Sam at the desk was great and helpful throughout my stay. We were directed to this hotel by the Ballantyne Hotel, after finding out they were completely booked (thanks to a football game). While I can appreciate what they were trying to do with the "look" of their hotel .. what it ended up (imo) was looking cheap and left "un-done". My bedroom at home is larger than these shoe box rooms. Bedding was less than impressive for the price of these rooms. I've had nicer bedding (and actual bed) at most Holiday Inn Express Hotels. Aloft is a modern, minimalistic hotel. Room is on the small size with just one chair but has a bench style sofa. Desk space is available and the bed was comfortable. We were here for only one night, but we thought this was a very good mid-range hotel. The whole hotel is modern chic. Nice people at the front desk and overall an enjoyable stay. Our one minor complaint: The heat was a tad noisy and we found the room to be either too hot or too cold. Note: The room alarm clock has no audible alarm! It's nice to walk around and plenty of restaurants and eatery choices are within 10-15 mins walk from the hotel. The room is clean and the housekeepers are hard working to maintain the facilities in good condition. Overall, it's a great experience to stay in this hotel. This was the first time I have stayed at aloft hotel. It was very clean and the staff at this location were very nice. The hotel bar seemed to be a busy spot. But around midnight, when I assume the bar closed. Sounded like half the drunks at the bar came up to my floor and decided to have a conversation about how the hotel was not as nice as the hotels she is used to in new York city.. other than that. My stay was very restful. Very comfortable bed and room layout.
