This hotel seemed brand new. Everything was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The location was convenient to shopping and to the university. There were many dining options close to the site.

Staff very helpful in answering questions about the area. Room was clean and comfy! Elevators were a tab slow. I think maybe just one was running. There than the slow elevator, all else was great. Will probably stay here again if back in Boone.

It would have been a nice hotel stay, but they had water damage on the 3rd and 4th floors prior to our visit and it was too torn-up to recommend. I'd stay there again, but only after the construction work was completed. It was a nice breakfast.

This hotel had clean rooms and nice views and the price was very good. As hotels go, it was fairly institutional, but the staff was very nice and the breakfast was sufficient. I am quite surprised that they boast an outdoor pool given its geographic location, but it would probably be ok in the deep summer. My only complaint was that the beds in our room were VERY used.

Stayed for 2 nights. Room extremely clean with comfortable bedding. Staff nice and helpful. Average breakfast for this chain. However, I was very impressed with the cleanliness and attention the staff provided for the breakfast. Great location, close to restaurants, shops and landmarks. Will stay here again if in the area.

Very clean and front desk was friendly and informative. Was able to have a late checkout of 2pm is always a plus for me. Disappointed they didn't have a fitness center but there is a greenway right behind the hotel. This is a beautiful area wish I could've stayed longer.

Enjoyed the stay. No fridge or microwave but pool and business center came in handy. Room was very clean and quiet. AC worked fine which always helps to keep down any random noise. Staff were pleasant. No complaints.

The location is excellent; the room on the back side was quiet and we actually opened the window for fresh cool air: service was excellent; breakfast was fine nothing really unuaual or unexpected. This is our second stay

Seriously, the two queen beds in our room were AWFUL!!! The beds were just worn out, bowed out and miserable. We could feel the springs through the sagging mattress. My back and shoulder hurt the whole time there. To add injury to insult, my wife hurt her lower leg on the hidden, protruding hard steel bed frame which apparently was not positioned or installed properly. The rest of the place was typical for this level hotel, not bad. The complimentary breakfast was the typical fare of imitation ... Read more

I recently was in Boone for a professional conference. My schedule had changed two or three times due to fluctuations in the scheduling of conference topics. There was a mix up with my reservation when I checked in (my fault), but Debbie at the front desk was terrific. While I was back at meetings in the afternoon, she alerted the manager, Margaret Roy, before I got back. When I returned everything was resolved to my complete satisfaction. The hotel is very nice, but the staff make it excep... Read more

We visited for a family trip. The facilities were nice and clean. The double bed room we were in had a nice big bathroom with a second sink outside the bathroom with a k-cup coffee pot. The pillows were actually comfortable. However, the beds were not very supportive and left the adults with a nice sore back in the morning. The breakfast was good. Location was great, right across from Walmart and multiple restaurants. Just a few minutes from tweetsie.

One of the best HI Express I've ever stayed in. Super clean, comfy bed, large bathroom, new large shower head and lots of towels. Plus airy bright breakfast area with wide assortment of breakfast items. And best of all scouted us staff. BRAVO!

We had a death in the family in mid April, 2016 an stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Boone. This place use to be better, but this time was extremely disappointing. The worst was the king bed was so worn and broken down, it was like sleeping in a bowl. We rolled to the middle and literally had to crawl, inch by inch out of the bed. We told the front desk about the problem, but got a blank expression and a flimsy "I'm sorry". We also wrote to the main office via email and received an email ... Read more

While the customer service at this hotel was fine, we experienced two significant problems with the facility. First, our door wouldn't lock. We had to leave the room for a long period of time and no maintenance personnel were available to repair the lock. Second, and more urgent, is the fact that the fire alarm went off at 11:30 pm and we did not hear it on the 3rd floor. Customers on the 5th floor heard it, but those on 4th floor and below did not. Even more disappointing was that one custome... Read more

On 7/7/16, I booked 4 nights (7/17-7/21) at the Holiday Inn Express in Boone, NC. We arrived early, but waited until the 3pm check in time to arrive. On arrival, we read the signs that the water heater was not working (and had not been since late night/early morning night before/that morning) and it may not be fixed until Monday (7/18) night.  I am highly displeased with the fact I did not receive a telephone call or email to let me know this. Instead I am sitting in a car with a tired child... Read more

This was a one night stay over the weekend to help our daughter move and the hotel was quite impressive! The rooms were neat and clean and the hotel offered free wifi. The breakfast buffet was much more than most hotels offer and the staff was excellent. I would definitely recommend this hotel to travelers.

I had been in Boone for 45 days. We stayed at Holiday Inn. It was a program for secondary school teachers all over the world. It was difficult time without the family. But the hotel was so nice. Warm and friendly. After classes I ran to the hotel. It was the only place where I felt home, like real home!.

Stopped with my son on way to Florida (school). Very clean. Comfortable beds. Good size bathroom and great shower. No on site restaurant but great hot morning breakfast served. Right in downtown Boone so tons of restaurants nearby. Appalachian State 1/2 mile down the street. Very reasonable pricing.

My third time at this hotel. I'm not super impressed with it but the location is right for me and we didn't spend a lot of time in the hotel. The breakfast really turned me off. The pancake machine and the toaster were broken and other offerings did not look that appetizing. There are many restaurants within walking distance. Generally I am used to hotel pools having towels at the pool. They did not and I didn't bring one with me. Second time with a saggy bed. Seems to be an issue at thi... Read more

Came in town to visit student at App State.... As others recently have said, the breakfast is as adequate as a continental type breakfast should be... Pancake machine was out of service, but honestly I'm not sure I'd have tried them... There are indeed several nice restaurants in the area, but I see this type of breakfast as an "eat and run" affair. Room was clean and the mattress was to our liking. We choose to stay in the two room suites here, or across the street at the Fairfield as we're us... Read more

This hotel delivered, and lived up to all of my expectations. Checking in and out was a breeze. The staff was always friendly and accommodating. Parking was convenient. The included breakfast was good, and the room clean and comfortable. There's not much to go on about; but this to me is what a hotel stay should be, comfortable, convenient, and uneventful.

After 38 hours of non-stop travelling I arrived at the Holiday Inn Express in Boone, North Carolina early afternoon on Sunday. When I got to the front desk and was told that the Travel Agent had not paid for the room I had reserved back in January of this year. I expected the worst - having to wander around trying to find a room in the Hotels in the town, and what I needed most of all was some sleep. But to my surprise the receptionist assured me, despite not having received the money, my roo... Read more

We spent 3 nights here in September. I reserved a room with a balcony and I was pleased to also get that one the ground floor. There is an outdoor that looked nice but I didn't get the chance to use it. The breakfast here was slightly above other HIE in selection and the food was good quality. This hotel is close to anything you might need and a short drive App State Univ.

We booked this the day before & this was the most expensive hotel that we stayed at in our entire 3 week trip (which included Washington DC)!!! The hotel seemed to be fairly new with some of the finish work incomplete. The hotel is home to college students whose apartment building isn't complete, so they stay close to full and therefore feel entitled to price gouge tourists. Our plan was to spend two nights in Boone, but decided to move on as one night here was what we paid for two nights in ... Read more

My husband and I took a short trip to the area - and we always stay at a Holiday Inn. We walked in to find the young lady at the front desk in a terrible mood - not good for us. We informed her that we were IHG members and she said "nope"..."you booked through a third party"...in other words no points, etc. for you...without explaining to us what that meant......the bathroom seemed dirty...it was a terrible experience...would not recommend.

This was a clean, comfortable hotel right on the main road through Boone with easy access to the city. My room was spacious and functional. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Arrived around 8:30 and was greeted warmly and processed promptly. Room was plain a little dated but ok. Mattress was also dated. When my wife and I got in bed we both rolled to the middle. Very soft and saggy. Then alarm began going off in adjoining room at 4 till 6:30. Guess I could have called front desk but didn't. Breakfast was surprisingly good. Attendant very nice.
