We stayed in room 209 April 16-17. Pros: Very friendly staff, nice indoor pool area Cons: The room needs a good cleaning. There was dust caked on the heat/AC unit. Also, the shower walls felt slimy. The shower head was pointed all the way out so when I turned it on the whole bathroom got sprayed! Guess I should have looked but never had that happen before. For the price of the room, I expected it to be clean. My son has allergies and has been congested every since we stayed. But I don't wan... Read more

Great hotel for a great price on priceline.Very clean nice rooms. We had a king room with fridge and microwave.Free breakfast with the usual fare of eggs, biscuits and gravy, cereal, etc.Indoor pool also. Good location to get around the area and quick entry to Blue Ridge Parkway. Only negative is all the construction going on in the area on the roads. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

We spent the night in Blowing Rock after a shopping trip to Tanger Outlet. The room was clean and the continental breakfast was as expected. We had a pleasant stay but nothing outstanding to write about. One thing that bothered us was the male employee behind the counter who was checking in guests. He was very vocal with his opinion of House Bill 2 which had recently passed in NC. He was very loud as he shared his opinion to a family checking in from New York, but his comments should have b... Stopped here in May 2016 on our way to Virginia. Clean, with friendly staff. Coffee and tea 24-7. Hot or cold breakfast was good. Pancake machine is nice. Would stop here again. Decor is simple and clean. Free WIFI. Restaurants close by and is located just off Blue Ridge Parkway.

In my opinion, Holiday Inn Express should remove their good name from this place. The motel is located on a hillside, lobby is 1/2 floor above the 1st floor, and 1/2 floor below the 2nd floor of the motel. It does not look like a usual HIE, rather, it looks like at least a 25+ year old generic motel. Our room was small and had a very low toilet, an easy chair and ottoman. Breakfast was at 7AM (Sunday). Our room's A/C knob operation was broken, so we had to do "trial and error" to change any of t... Read more

I am a Holiday Inn member & would not stay here again, the road down into the hotel is awful for getting in and out on a motorcycle with construction going on & not sure what it would be like without it, air conditioner was loud and layout of hotel is different for sure. the staff is welcoming, breakfast area is well maintained, just not to the standard for price.

We stayed at this hotel for one night, and we chose to leave because they did not have a washer dryer The hotel was clean however I needed some updating. The service was mediocre. Is decently priced for the area. This is a good place to stay for family. The fitness area is not good at all!

This is a typical Holiday Inn Express with a decent breakfast offering a variety of choices. Its close to the Blue Ridge Parkway and a short walk from an authentic local bar-b-que place. The road in front is under construction so there a slight delays getting into the hotel, and back out again. But it looks like its almost complete.

We usually stay here when we travel the Parkway. We love Blowing Rock and this hotel is reasonable and offer a good breakfast. I do think they need to replace their mattresses or at least the last one I had. There is road construction in front of the hotel but not a very big problem. Good restaurants very near by. I will stay again when in the area as I have several times in the past.

We stayed here for a two day trip to Tweetsie Railroad. I was quite surprised with our stay at Holiday Inn Express. The room was spacious. The hotel does need a update, but for the value compared to other places to stay in the area, this is the best deal around especially the way it makes my kids happy that they have a fun and affordable place to stay when we come to visit Tweetsie. The hotel is out of town on the bypass. It was clean and comfortable and the reception staff were friendly and helpful. There was a good comfortable lounge are if yo did not wish to be in your room. Breakfast was good. A large indoor pool which was rather tired looking and needed some decoration. It is built on a slope so reception is on one level and the first floor rooms are below and the ones at the front are basically in a basement. As the pool is down there it is a bit grim. However ... We've stayed here for a number of years on our annual business trip to Blowing Rock and have watched the pretty complete lack of attention to maintenance issues escalate to the point where we will not return. The parking lot is a nightmare full of pot-holes, etc. - it needs repaving both from an aesthetic point of view as well as a safety issue. We stopped off the parkway in Blowing Rock for the evening. We found the rates to be average. The room was adequate for an overnight stay. The complimentary breakfast was fine for what you usually get. It would be unfair to expect a lodging facility to provide you with a 5-star breakfast, but we found this to be quite adequate as I said. The only thing we found bad was the air conditioning unit.
