This hotel has a very open and welcoming lobby. There are nice places to sit to read or visit in the lobby. They offer a nice variety of food on the restaurant menu and the staff at this hotel are very nice and professional. The business and computer area are also in the open lobby, rather than a dark hole in a hallway. There is an indoor and outdoor pool linked together. In warmer weather they are both open. The outdoor pool offers a nice sun deck area. While the hotel could use a little updati... Read more

Honestly hard to know how to rate this place. We stopped for one night on a trip to Hilton Head. Check in was easy, clerk was friendly and helpful, and rate was reasonable for the area. The lobby was beautiful and recently remodeled, and the clerk told me the rooms would be next ... and that's where the disappointment came in. Rooms are definitely dated, with chipped paint on the door frames, a loud air conditioner that never shut off all night, and questionable carpet. On the other hand, o... Read more

We love Asheville, visiting there at least once or twice each year. Typically, we stay in a VRBO, but wanted to get more points for future Holiday Inn stays. I was not excited to stay here, but it was a very nice hotel, only 10 minutes or so from downtown Asheville. There is a breakfast buffet with a choice of a continental or full breakfast (NOT included in the nightly charge, but easier than going out). The food was good and the service as well. There is also a lobby dining room separate ... Read more

We were a family of 7 traveling to Asheville for 2 nights. We had booked 3 rooms at this hotel. Now - do remember that there are two properties called Holiday Inn Asheville Biltmore - one called East, and one called West. My brother ended up going to the East property by mistake. Check-in was smooth. They gave us 3 adjacent rooms on the same floor, which was convenient. I had a king size bed room, with a balcony. We stayed for an in town family wedding. Several of us stayed. Our room was nice - bed was very comfortable. We had the breakfast buffet two mornings. It was very good and lots of variety. Hotel was close to many restaurants and shopping. There was an inside and outside pool that looked very nice. Lots of lobby seating to hang it and talk.

My 90 year old mother and I stayed here last night. I asked the young man behind the desk, Chris, for a room with two queens. After he quoted a price I asked if any such rooms were available that were handicapped accessible. He told me that all accessible rooms had only king beds. We really didn't want to share a bed so he quickly found me two connecting rooms. My mother's room with the king bed was really great! Nicely sized, with a sofa and coffee table and walk in shower. Our room on the outside of floor 2 had a very noisy and blowy HVAC unit under the window that woke us up at night and made the desk impossible to use during the day. The wifi was spotty in this room too. Our traveling companions who stayed in an inside room had none of these issues.

I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the room after seeing some other reviews. The hotel in general is clean but they have some issues that need to be addressed. Their was only one girl at the front desk that was friendly and unfortunately I do not remember her name. She helped us with directions and with tickets for Biltmore. The housekeepers were not friendly at all, if you passed one in the hallway they would look the other way to avoid speaking to you. The mattress slept well but... Read more

There are not enough words to say how nice our stay was. The area is absolutely beautiful. The room was very clean. The only draw back was the woman who checked us in could have been a bit friendlier as she didn't seem very excited to welcome us even though I am a platnum elite member of IHG.Regardless we did enjoy our stay on our way to Myrtle Beach.

We have stayed at this motel in Asheville a few times, but this particular visit was a bit troublesome or should I say worrisome. As soon as we took off our shoes in the room, we could feel that the carpeting felt very damp, thankfully we put on slippers to avoid that 'wet' feeling. But then on our 3 night stay, we noticed that EVERYTHING felt damp!!! And our towels and swim suits never dried out. The A/C ran constantly and noisily, and didn't remove the moisture in the room. This hotel was a great value. For the price of a true budget hotel you get an indoor/outdoor pool, jacuzzi, bar and restaurant. Just got here. I am not impressed! If your staying in town go to the holiday inn-east location. The west is run down. The doors are old and some have been repainted as the wood is chipped. Stayed here two nights and overall we were satisfied. The rooms had some worn out areas (worn out wall/ sheet rock, doors de-laminating) but the rest was decent overall. The breakfast buffet very good which my kids enjoyed each morning. Location is good since it is only a few min from West Asheville.
