We had a wonderful experience during our stay. The spa was extra special and the entire staff was excellent. We had breakfast each morning and the food was delicious. We had dinner in the Edison one evening which was also delicious. The only negative was that we had to leave. We hope to be able to return one day.

Highlights if this gorgeous hotel are the stunning mountain views (great spot to drink a glass of wine) and the spa. We've been here in late November with Christmas decorations and gingerbread houses everywhere which was fantastic and during the summer. This is a great spot for a couple's getaway but we've seen many families here as well. Be sure to book a spa appointment far in advance if you can. The reason for the 4 star is the rooms are nice but nothing spectacular/ kind of dated.

How to describe the GPI to a traveler that has never been? Would using the Disney Resort concept help? I have stayed in Disney Orlando almost two dozen times and stayed at multiple resorts on property. Do you pay to enter the property? Yes. Do you pay to park your vehicle? Yes. Do you pay for additional services? Yes. Are there ways to curb your investment in your stay while still taking advantage of the "perks"? Yes. So... a fluid piece on helping folks in their discernment of staying at GP... Read more

Absolutely charming. Beatiful golf course and not so difficult as to frustrate this bogey golfer & wife. Avoid dinner at Sunset Signature Restaurant; our steaks were almost inedible, but at Ruth's Chris prices. So go there for a cocktail to enjoy a breathtaking sunset over the mountain range.

Our family debated a stay at the Grove Park or a less expensive option. We were all glad that we opted for the Omni. A beautiful facility to return to each day after exploring Biltmore Estate and the attractions of Asheville. We enjoyed a complimentary cider at check-in, took a morning tour on the history of the hotel and enjoyed the lobby entertainment with a nightcap each evening. It could not have been better.

Stayed here for our early Summer vacation with out two elementary aged school boys. Between the views of the mountains, the impeccable service that catered to every age in our party, and the amazing food I can't imagine even thinking of a different option for our next trip to Asheville. Thank you!

We travel a lot and this hotel was one of the best we have ever experienced. They gave a complimentary upgrade so we had a mountain view which was just beautiful. The service and staff was like no other we have ever experienced. We ate in all the restaurants but one and while they are expensive the food was excellent. All the facilities including the spa was top notch. Yes this hotel is expensive but we feel we got what we paid for.

Celebrated a wedding anniversary, (50th) by treating 9 family members, ranging in age from 8-45, to 4 days at Grove Park Inn. Accommodations, food and service all exceptional. Between golf, tennis, sports complex, spa and the variety of activities available in Asheville and the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains everyone in our party was able to participate in both individual and group activities that they enjoy most.

This place is like a dream. I absolutely love the ambiance, and the spa was incredible! It was an extraordinarily relaxing two days, and everyone was extremely friendly. I stayed at the Grove Park Inn with my husband and teenage daughter while my husband attended a convention for work (and therefore paid a lower rate). The place is gorgeous, with mountain views everywhere! Our room (Sammons Wing, #7033) was good-sized, with a king bed, two leather reading chairs, desk, etc. and overlooked the 18th hole w/ mountain views. There was enough room to add a roll-away for my daughter w/o moving furniture. (The roll-away was a not very comfortable. We asked for a second... Read more

Why so average? Well, I didn't think this hotel was all that great. The wings are spread out. In the samson wing, the rooms are dated. We didn't get to try the historic wing. We heard the Vanderbilt wing was newer. That may change the rating. The hotel as most resorts, is a bit pricey. Drinks are expensive and so are the meals. The distance to the rooms are far from all the entertainment and restaurants. The sports complex is average with a typical indoor pool that has nothing exciting... Read more

You pay for parking. You pay to use the Internet. There are no free newspapers. There are not even complimentary nuts at the bar. The room we have has a lovely view but the decor is dated 70's colors with over size framed tacky posters. The bathroom is motel quality. The carpet is indoor outdoor. It is a bit run down. I am sure the rooms in the original hotel section are very nice. I am very disappointed. The spa was great. Nice staff.

Beautiful hotel, nice clean rooms, wonderful vista views and great staff. The hotel is pricey but worth it. However, the spa is overpriced and its facilities are not included in your added-on resort fees. I stayed at the GPI to attend a conference. Overall, the building and grounds are nice, but the room was unimpressive. And, the AC was not working too well in the room. No doubt there is much history here. While I see others who rave about the GPI, it may be that the hotel and motif are not my style. That said, I was unimpressed by the food at the restaurants. I was supposed to have a king bed but was given 2 doubles. The ceiling in half the room was so low that i could touch it with a flat hand and bent elbow, i am only 5'8". Bring your hiking shoes as the hotel is not easy to navigate and hopefully you don't have any disabilities.

My family and i have stayed at the Grove Park Hotel a total of 4 times over the past years. We have always been satisfied until this past visit. We were awakened to a fire alarm that we were told was due to mist in the system and while we understand that this can happen, it made our stay extremely dissatisfying. We would finally go to sleep and the alarm would go off again. This happened approximately 3-4 times. Our sleep was disrupted over and over and we were never able to go back to sleep. ... Read more

This beautiful Omni provides a very relaxing visit for anyone. One can walk around the hotel and read about the history and look at items used long ago or sit in the Great Hall and people watch. A must is that one must at the very least, stroll down to the Spa, it is world class and the best Omni Spa that I've visited. The only complaint is that the food and bar items are way too pricey for this Omni.

For the price paid, I was expecting something much more luxurious.

This is a marvelous historic hotel. Great service, great food, and the spa is the best one we have ever visited! We spent a long weekend there, and had a marvelous time. It overlooks Asheville, which is a fun city to visit. Quiet close to the Blue Ridge Parkway. We loved the history of this hotel. Highly recommend it. Impossible to build places like this anymore.

My husband was given a very generous Omni Resort Gift Card for a retirement present. We decided on Asheville's premier hotel, The Grove Park Inn (an Omni property). It is so charming--like staying in a grand country hotel in the 1920s. It was built back then but they have really kept up with the times. The rooms are hotel-sized -- not very big, but we managed. You have everything you need. Dinner on the famous terrace our first night allowed us to see North Carolina Mtns' incomparable sunset... Read more

Lovely old hotel with all the modern touches. Golf was amazing. Downtown amenities close by and the hotel has everything you need. Only reason not 5 stars is because the food at resort was mediocre and as a foodie I expected much higher quality food. It seemed as though there was no imagination to the menus.

This over 100 year old property has done a spectacular job of preserving the historical mountain feel, while elegantly updating it in keeping with the cozy mountain feel. The main hall is spectacular. The views from the patios and terraces are breathtaking. The spa is top class. This is not a spa to go to an hour before your treatment and relax. This is a spa to go for for the day. It is way more couple friendly than most spas too, if going with sig other. There are separate well appointe... Read more

The Grove Park Inn has alot to offer onsite with food, views, golf, spa's, and more so check out their site. Then with a 5 min drive your in town with all kinds of great shopping and more food and don't forget the Biltmore House which is a must see if you haven't seen it at least once. GPI is a wonderful hotel. It's setting is spectacular. Make sure you arrive in time for the sunset and sit out on the deck to soak in the rays as they slip behind the Blue Ridge Mountains. The entire hotel staff is warm and welcoming. The spa is amazing. The town of Asheville has lots of shops and restaurants for every taste and budget. While the hotel is a bit pricey, it is worth it - and so are you! So go enjoy it and yourself!

A truly unique experience with a room that was truly amazing, a restaurant meal in the veranda watching the sun set over distant mountains. A round of golf on a wonderful sunny autumn day, the leaves all shades of beautiful colours, and a warm of greeting from every member of staff we met made our stay truly fantastic. Long story short, the desk staff is very unfriendly. I paid extra for a "Premier Mountain View Room", at check in was told "we oversold these rooms" and gave me a room with a view of a wall despite paying extra for my room specifically to view the mountains. Had to spend hours of my vacation and spa day dealing with this issue. Totally unacceptable service from any hotel, much less an Omni Hotel.

Grove Park Inn is a historic, unique and spectacular place! I had not heard of it, but my husband booked us to go there on vacation. We loved it so much that we tried to extend our stay but the place is full so we could not stay longer than three days. I would definitely go back. The place has a magical and enchanting atmosphere. Gonna make this one short and sweet. Overall the grove park is very pretty and picturesque. My main issue were the rooms. I had a discounted rate through a group- but without that I would have been looking at a price tag around 450$. Really?? The quality of the room alone is worth about 200. The resort itself is beautiful and very large - your room may potentially be opposite of many of the areas you'll want to get to. The decor in the main areas is stunning along with the fireplaces Christmas t... Read more

Once again, I have had the privilege of a stay, though brief, at the famous Grove Park Inn, the first since Omni took it over. It has always been an historic, unique and elegant hotel with a marvelous setting and touches to remember, not the least of which is the Great Hall with massive fireplaces at opposite ends. Omni appears to have polished it, and maintains the entire property in first rate condition. The caution that I would offer is the price. With added taxes of $47/night, and a "Res... Read more

The Grove Park Inn is a spectacular place to stay. I had a room that was below the Grand Ballroom and was constantly work up starting at 5:22am on Thanksgiving day, sounded like a runway above me. On the day I was leaving the elevator quite working a I was stuck for 15 min until maintenance and engineer s could get it working again. Must not have been my weekend....
