The spa is fabulous, and the grounds are magnificent. Loved the food in the bar (lots of it is locally grown) and the staff. Rooms? Meh. If I ever come back, I will stay somewhere else and just come for the day to visit the spa. The rooms are really dark (I had to sit directly under the desk lamp to see anything - there's no reading in bed), not a lot of luxury, and the throw pillows on the bed smell funky (ew!). Oh, and no bathtubs unless you want to upgrade to the 'luxury' suites. I'm a bath t... Read more

December 26, 2016 was our first time eating at this hotel. We were passing through the area and wanted to see the Gingerbread displays and visit with some dear friends. We chose the Omni Grove Park Inn as the place to meet. The location of the hotel is intriguing. Perched high on a hill overlooking a beautiful golf course with glimpses of mountains in the distance. We were there for breakfast and everything we had, from the coffee to the biscuits, was delicious. The blueberry sausage was the... Read more

One of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed at. A little pricey, but worth every penny. Great food, drinks, service, gym, Terrance, views, shops, etc. Very clean. Very exquisite! We booked one night, but ended up staying an extra night. My family definitely plan on coming back.

My husband and I stayed at The Grove Park Inn as a late anniversary getaway, I had never been and was thrilled by the location, the history, the service and the Sunset Terrace Restaurant. I cannot say enough good things! It was like stepping back in time. We stayed in the historic part of the Inn in a room that was built in the early 1900s. Loved the history and even riding on the old-fashioned elevator that required an elevator operator. The grounds were gorgeous and the Inn expansive wit... Read more

Staying at The Grove Park Inn is one of those "bucket list" items that you must do. It's grandeur, it's history, it's beauty. Everyone should stay there, right? No. Trust me, it's not all it's cracked up to be. They are overpriced, over-arrogant, and generally "too big for their britches, as my Mom would say. The staff, as a rule, must be taught to be arrogant. Maybe that's the service some expect when staying at a hotel of this nature, but not me. This is the most I've ever paid a night for a h... Me and my daughter met girlfriends from Florida for a quick weekend getaway and had a great time. I will bring my husband with me sometime soon. Beautiful resort but price was a bit steep for just 2 nights so maybe we will make it an every other year getaway. I would love to try the spa next time.

Prior to this trip, I had last visited 26 years ago and many changes have taken place (to be expected). It was disheartening to see the Omni chain purchased this and did not maintain and uphold some of the "charm" associated with grand properties and historic gems such as the GPI. The terraced gardens have all but been replaced by tables and chairs. Children are now allowed to run all over the place including the sunset terrace. When I was here 26 years ago with my two children (both under 6)... Read more

Our room was in the old part of the inn and we loved it! The quirky elevators built into the fireplace were fun! The history of this inn begins in 1912 when they began construction through its opening in July of 1913. The original furnishings, artwork, and gracious style of this classic Asheville experience are not to be found anywhere else in town - or in the state for that matter. Meals are wonderful, service is perfect, activities onsite abound and it is worth your visit.
