The hotel was under renovation when we checked in so it was a little chaotic BUT these people will take good care of you. It is good to see the hotel putting money back into the property. The room was very clean and the breakfast in the morning was great. We would stay here again if in the area.

We stayed here overnight on our trip from NY to FL. Right off the interstate. We were surprised to see a total renovation going on. Even with that the room and hotel were fine. We were on the 4th floor and heard no noise. Check was fine even with construction. The pool was closed but didn't affect us as we didn't need a pool. Room was clean and well appointed. We had breakfast in the morning and it was good. Normal breakfast fare.

Hotel was under renovations but front desk clerks were very friendly. However, it took a while to get a mini fridge sent to my room and I was told if I left a note with what I had to put in fridge while I was gone they would do it. We were gone all day after waiting about an hour for fridge to be delivered and found that none of my items were put in fridge. Also 2 of my good pairs of sandals were missing upon my arrival in myrtle beach. I know they were in my Asheville room as I wore them during... Read more

Under renovation which was not mentioned making the reservation. Room lacked a floor length mirror. Hooks for it for but no mirror. Wall sconces did not work and other lights barely bright enough to see or read. Beds were great, nice pillows, clean room. Had problem understanding house keeping but was told quite curtly by front desk that there was no language barrier. Ended up not getting room fixed on day 3. Breakfast good. This location smells like it had a fire. I did not feel safe in any way. No one cared at the front desk. If you going to stay in Asheville, NC, beyond a doubt mind do not stay here. Betty was so friendly and professional while we booked our room while traveling by car on and for the night of May 29th. The other girl working with Betty checked us in upon arrival and accidently gave us a room with 2 Queens instead of the King bed requested. We went back down stairs and she changed it promptly and then said, very kindly, " I need to ask for cleaning purposes if you used the restroom in that room." Cost for 1 night $168. Was absolutely not worth it. Lobby was in shambles. Breakfast area was like going through a maze or maybe "hide and seek". We basically had to find the juice, ect. We found it was in a totally separate room from other breakfast items. Breakfast wasn't much good anyway. Outdoor pool was not usable. Bottom line, we will stick with Hampton Inn.

My wife and I were back in Asheville for the Memorial Day weekend, and I have never been so surprised with all of the changes that have taken place at the Holiday Inn East! Everything was new, from the entrance canopy , to the waterfall on the side of the porte-cochere, to the beautiful (!) new lobby, restaurant and patio bar. It was so welcoming and inviting (even though we loved the rustic, homey feel before the renovation took place). They have maintained some of the rustic feel, but mixed it... Read more

After reading the reviews and knowing the hotel was in process of remodel, we were hoping that it wouldn't bother us. The inside remodel is virtually finished and the work was excellent. From what we saw "everything" seems to have been redone. Carpets, lobby, paint, bathroom fixtures, etc were all new. Our three day visit was excellent. Employees couldn't have been friendlier and more helpful

We made a last minute reservation and got the last two rooms at a pretty steep price. Typical though of the season in Asheville. Staff were very good all around. The renovated room was good but the bathroom small and just ok. One elevator so it can be slow go when busy. Breakfast is adequate. Renovations are near completion and had no impact on stay at all. Pool is good. Nice to swim on a hot day which it was. All in all a good hotel, thankfully updated.

This Holiday Inn provided my husband and I with everything we wanted. It has a pleasant staff, a comfy bed, a clean room, and breakfast included. The pillows and linens were of good quality and we both slept like babies. My only suggestion is that the bathroom should have a night light so you do not blind yourself when you take a midnight pee, but I suggest that for most places. We even had a view of the mountains which was a plus. At $150 with taxes it was a great deal.

Evacuated due to hurricane specifically to this hotel since it is pet friendly. When we arrived said they would make an acception for our dog but they couldn't do it any more. Said they were out of pet friendly rooms. How were we supposed to know they had a limited number of pet rooms? We weren't told this when we booked and came here specially due to pet policy. We were just trying to follow rules. We've paid over $1100 for 3 nights at this holiday inn. Totally not worth the price at all. Cha... Read more

We too evacuated from Charleston S.C from hurricane Matthew. We were charged 35.00 per night for a cat and 350.00 per night stay. This was all we could find at the time or we would not have spent this kind of money. It's a shame people are taken advantage of when they are at a time of need. You would think that Holiday Inn would welcome the business instead of taking advantage of the situation. When the reservation was made they even asked what was bringing us the the hotel .. Wonder why ? On ... Read more

We stayed at this Holiday for the last 2 nights of our vacation (Oct 12-Oct 14) and we wish we had stayed longer. The hotel is beautiful on the outside as well as inside. A huge bonus is the free breakfast, as most Holiday Inns don't do the free breakfast (usually only the express locations do). The food selection was great, and always fresh and delicious. Plenty of seating available too. The room was spacious without being too much. The bed was so comfortable, and I didn't wake up with a sore ... Read more

Traveled in the wake of Hurricane Matthew. Arrived about 9:00 pm. Room was clean and inviting, beds were super comfortable with both firm and soft pillows. Breakfast was great. Welcome alternative to the "trough" at some places. This one has actual wait staff that can assist you.

On our way to visit the Biltmore Estate, we stayed here over night. This place was very clean, inside and out. We loved the little wooden bear statues thru out the venue and loved the cute little water fall out front. We took a brief hike thru the woods and it was awesome. Loved the property and landscape too. Swimming area was so gorgeous. You could sit by the pool and enjoy a book and see the mountain views. Staff was very friendly and nice and clean rooms also. My apprehension of this location disappeared as soon as I walked into the lobby. The staff was super friendly and helpful and the entire hotel has been recently renovated. Great mountain view from a clean and comfortable room and dinner at the onsite restaurant was very good with very friendly and excellent service. Would definitely stay here again.

Located just off the interstate near the Bluegrass Parkway and Folk Art Center. About 8-10 minutes from downtown Asheville. Very clean and updated restaurant. Nice landscaping. Excellent hot breakfast included w room rate. The downside? No in-room refrigerator which was a huge disappointment. And outlet plugs are too few. Bathrooms are absent of an exhaust fan which means the bathroom gets (and stays) fogged up after a shower. The rooms for have a Keurig coffee maker

Wow! We could not believe that this was a Holiday Inn! The property is well maintained, the rooms are very clean, and the staff is very friendly. The pool area is decorated in mountain rustic, and the pool itself was heated (and very clean!). We would definitely stay here again!

This Holiday Inn exceeded our expectations. Normally our extensive experience with Holiday Inns turns out they are "OK", but nothing special. This one is different. The staff & facilities were well above the normal HI standard. We defintiely would stay here again when returning to Asheville.

Booked this Holiday Inn for a mid-week stay. It was close to the Biltmore Estate, so we could mark it off our Bucket List. The room was clean and very welcoming. Enjoyed the complimentary buffet breakfast. I wish all full service Holiday Inns would provide that amenity. Would recommend this hotel to others. Pleasant stay and pleasant staff!!

One of the things you want most when you travel is a comfortable bed. The beds at this hotel are anything but comfortable. I weigh 240lbs and I hardly put a dent in the bed which makes your body try to conform to the mattress instead of the mattress conforming to your body. I can't sleep on this type of mattress and won't be staying there again.

This is an older facility that has been upgraded and remodeled in a woodsy, country decor. They spent mega bucks on this place. It is classy and homey and they even take the time and expense to decorate the exterior for the season. The rooms are clean, the staff is fabulous and the free breakfast is a buffet but you have table service for beverages, etc. We stayed here while attending a seminar a Billly Graham's Training Center, "The Cove." It is practically outside the property gate. And there... Read more

Called the day before on the spur of the moment, and was able to book a nice room with King bed that was dog friendly. Even though it was leaf-peeping season, the prices were reasonable. The room was clean, quiet and smelled fine. We had some trouble adjusting the temperature of the room, which looked out over the parking lot toward the woods. The grounds were very enjoyable. Lots of flowers, and a mulch covered trail in the woods for walking the dog. We were warned about walking there at n... Read more

My wife and I visited for 3 nights and had an overall good experience. They brightest part of the stay was the clean room and the front desk staff, especially Holly. Holly diffused an incident with a drunk couple smoothly and professionally. She was a joy to chat with and knowledgeable. She deserves a raise based off of my 30 minute interaction with her. The worst part was dinner in the Woodfire Grill on sight restaurant. The food was horrible and had less flavor than diabetic food. The o... Read more

My husband & I stayed here the night before attending a retreat at The Cove. It's basically across the highway from The Cove's entrance. It's nice with a rustic flair. The breakfast was a full-on buffet breakfast..very rare these days. The staff was very friendly. The only thing I would suggest is since the bathrooms are a little small, an additional mirror in the room would be nice. We plan on staying at this hotel again the next time we are in the area.

They keep the hotel well staffed in numbers and talent. Very friendly. The decor is chic in the restaurant and bar area. Live music even. Breakfast is complimentary and very fresh. This hotel is extremely pet friendly. They even have a dog walk wooded trail! The owner should be very proud. The hotel has a family feel, and they were very accommodating with a late check out. Their pool is heated so it was open in Nov! The DOS Brian is a great guy.

Starting with the cons, the bathroom was a little small and tight. We reserved a "mountain view" room, but not sure we ended up in one since we overlooked the roof of a gas station and the highway. But the bed was comfortable and room was quiet. We really enjoyed the Woodfire Grill on the premises, all 3 nights of our stay. The food was delicious, wine bottles reasonably priced, and the waitstaff very pleasant and capable. Well, where to start talking about this fantastic place. Very accommodating, every request I had they bend over backwards to make happen. Great rooms and the dog walking area out back was superb! Pet fee was really reasonable at $35! It was a nature hike area with poop bag stations along the way. The front entry was so cool and mountain themed.
