The rooms smell kind of musty. We were in 2 different rooms and had to air out both of them for hours. The beds are very hard, especially the queen beds. (The king bed was better.) The front desk staff is very nice and helpful but the shuttle driver is totally clueless and not very nice. We used the shuttle 6X and he did not know where one single solitary place we had him go to was located. He has no idea where places like Foggy Mountain, Blue Dreams, Salsas or Lex 18 are which is surprising sin... Read more

We went to enjoy the city for my husbands birthday. We booked this hotel bc it had a hot tub and shuttle. The hot tub wasn't up to temp and the jets didn't work. The shuttle was very nice and convenient, last call for rides is 10:45! Perfect. The 2 men that checked up in were so welcoming and even tried to get us a upgrade to a room with a whirlpool tub in it, but they were full. It was nice they checked. The lobby, pool, hallways, the bar and our room were very clean. The mattresses are nice... Read more

My husband and I stayed here for two nights. The hotel is very nice, clean and in a convenient location for visiting downtown. I wouldn't say it is downtown, but close. The first evening we took the shuttle downtown. Our driver was very friendly and helpful, with tips on different brew pubs to try and info about the Biltmore Estate. After that, we drove ourselves. An easy place to navigate. Parking can be an issue, though. We skipped the $10 breakfast. The same fare you get for free at many h... Read more

I stay at several hotels but this is the best hotel I've ever had the pleasure staying. It's clean, quite, very reasonable and the management team and staff are the greatest. The restaurant and bar are very good expecially on Tuesday Nights they have specials on beer and appetizers.

We were in town to visit a spa and decided to stay over night here. We were very impressed with our stay. The employees were very welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed the hot tub during our visit. It didn't have actual working jets however it was a great addition to our stay. We will stay here again when we return to Asheville.

I was searching for a hotel for a girls getaway with my adult daughter, and found this hotel a great place. It is close to shopping, good restaurants, and easy to get to off the confusing Interstate/Highway system of Asheville. The rooms were clean and quiet. The room was large, and the price was reasonable for the season. No complaints.

As with most Holiday Inns, they really know how to design rooms good to sleep in - great mattresses, spacious, etc. Marketing the place as "downtown" just isn't true. It's close, but there is a scary tunnel between the hotel and downtown, so forget about walking. They realize this, so they provide a shuttle. The area around the hotel is bad - not unsafe, just uninteresting. I drove downtown and parked EASILY which made the whole stay very pleasing. The hotel is off the main road, so its pretty ... The hotel was very nice, location is a little strange and better signage on Tunnel Road would help. Staff was very accommodating of an early checkin. Room was great. Review would be a 5 if the housekeeping staff hadn't done a knock and enter (1 second delay) while I was dressing about 10 minutes before I checked out.

After about four uturns I figured out the trick to find this well hidden driveway (didn't see any signs coming from dt, but did see them coming from highway). I'm not normally a holiday inn guy but was using some ihg points. I was pleasantly surprised king suite was very roomy. Quiet. Bed on the firm side which I'm good with (although ironically sofa on the mushy side, almost too uncomfortable). Wifi is good. Didn't eat here so can't rate food. One of the best stays ever ! The gentleman who checked us in was excellent (Joe). He was very nice, later when we couldn't get our TV to work he came right up immediately and fixed it! We were given a coupon for a free drink from the bar upon our arrival and our room was very clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend this motel when your in the Asheville area!

Great hotel and staff. Bar just opened as we arrived super bar person very accommodating.Decided to dine in restaurant...new staff needed to work out some glitches that we overlooked due to the bar person who was also our server. Had breakfast the next day all was great. This is a great location Outback Steakhouse next door, Ingles grocery store across the street and the shuttle service offered by the hotel makes it a good stay.Clean rooms &comfy beds.

My wife and I had a great stay. The room was clean, staff was nice & the location great for hitting the highway to the many beautiful waterfalls in the area. If you want Biltmore there are others closer, but this hotel is still a very short drive away. I recommend this hotel when visiting Asheville.

This place is not downtown as it suggests. Parking is horrible. Hotel is not what it appears on websites. Bedding was torn, carpets were filthy. Hotel appears to be old and not updated. Staff did not appear to care. Will not stay here again. Very disappointed. Booked this room through Expedia. Not pleased with entire experience.

This hotel is fairly new and very clean. We were pleased with our room and the location. We stayed on the sixth floor, and it was very quiet. We will return again! This was a Holiday Inn, and not an Express, so breakfast was not included. However, they do have a full service restaurant.

We didn't arrive until around dark because we had stopped for dinner before getting into town, but we didn't find it difficult to get to the hotel, and had no problems parking and checking in. We stayed here one night on a recent vacation. It's not downtown if that is what you want but they do offer a daily shuttle to downtown. We used the on site restaurant for breakfast as there is not continental breakfast. Food was made as ordered, quickly done, and tasted very good. It appears the hotel really wants to make the restaurant successful and more often visited. I see no reason why that cannot be. Overall, the hotel is efficiently run, clean, well-kept a solid value for anyone needing ... Read more

What else would you want from a hotel? The location is close to downtown Asheville and walking distance if preferred, the rooms were cleaned thoroughly each day and the staff were about as helpful and friendly as could be. Even the restaurant was efficient and reasonable for a hotel based restaurant and that was a pleasant surprise. Overall nothing negative and everything positive. Even a covered parking option for a smaller number of cars/bikes so arrive early if you want a covered spot.

This room was very nice and clean however the factor that took it to two stars is that this hotel is poorly misrepresented. This is not downtown at all, we stayed here Labor Day weekend and you expect to be downtown if the location is titled "downtown" we also spent a lot of money to be downtown as we did not want to drive, this really took away from first trip to Asheville. We will pay more to stay downtown next time.

My husband and I were very happy with this hotel. The location was great. They offered free shuttle to downtown (only 2 miles away). We loved using the shuttle! Stopped here for a night on a weekend trip through Asheville. The desk clerks were courteous, the room clean, and the bed was comfortable. The property was well-maintained and the room was clean. The tub was nice and wide and relaxing after a long day of driving and business appointments. My primary complaint is that the hotel, which I booked on the fly, was listed as Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Asheville Downtown. This hotel was such a disappointment. Advertising that they are "downtown" is a complete falsehood.
