By sheer luck, we selected this hotel as our base for several days in Asheville and found the location just perfect. It is close to main routes, but there is no traffic noise at all. The downtown area is a straight shot down Tunnel Road. The staff was friendly and helpful and a relaxed breakfast helped get each day off to a good start.

Friendly staff and convenient location. The downtown area is a short distance and a fun area. A lot of restuarants in the immediate area. The room was clean and there was no significant road noise. Breakfast was standard for this type of accommodation. Will definitely stay with again when in the area.

Our daughter has been a student at two schools in the area, and we are from out of state, so we have stayed at several mid-grade hotels in the area. We do not use high-end hotels, but seek the value locations. This time we splurged for the Hampton. Besides the pool deck outside the pool being down for renovations and some minor upgrades going on in the lobby, the facility was impeccable. The breakfast food was standard Hampton and fresh. The staff are all very well trained and were, without... Read more

Hotel is set back of the highway so very quiet. Staff was so friendly and helpful, even suggesting places to eat. Pool has a fire pit and there is a hot tub. Some parking requires climbing some steps, but there is handicapped and other parking in the back, which is level with the first floor. Room was spacious and bathroom suitable for a person who has a handicap - on the first floor rooms have walk-in shower with grab bar. Location is so handy - less than 5 miles from downtown.

We stay at Hampton Inn a lot during our travles.... And. This one was okay! I think it is quite expensive for it's location. It isn't downtown! The rugs and carpets seemed dirty and old. For that price it should all be new!

Clean room, free breakfast, indoor pool and hot tub, free wi-fi Cons: Easy to miss entrance from Tunnel Rd, coming from I-240. My wife and I stayed at this location for our 52nd wedding anniversary visit to Asheville. I cannot say enough about the exceptional staff at this location. . .they are all well above average. "Oliver" helped us with several rescheduling problems and made everything go smoothly. The location was suitable for both the Biltmore and the downtown areas without being "in the middle" of either. I think the best thing about this Hampton Inn (yes, they are all so similar) is the friendliness of its staff. The night desk help, the breakfast buffet ladies all make you feel so welcome. The beds are comfortable, the pillows even better. It's about a 8-10 minute ride to downtown and you will save money by being in the "suburbs" The one thing that bothered me was that the air conditioner seemed to go into "sleep" mode when it didn't detect movement in the room in the middle of the night, but ... Good place for a great nights sleep. Breakfast was average but having fresh fruit was a plus. Beds were very comfortable and rooms were in good condition. It is off the main road up on a hill so it is a bit difficult to find. It was good for an overnight stay.

Besides it's great location near downtown Asheville and it being spotlessly clean, the number one attribute of this hotel is the super friendly staff. The general manager Naim Cash spent quite a bit of time with us going over places to eat and things to do in the Asheville area. He seemed truly concerned about us having a pleasant time while visiting this great city. The rest of the staff was also as friendly and helpful as Mr. Cash. Went to Asheville on a motorcycle get away to the Blueridge and to visit Asheville. We have been to Asheville a few times but this was the first time staying at the Hampton. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Our room was very clean and very comfortable. The fire pit at night was just great also. We are looking forward to our next visit to Asheville and the Hampton.

The staff was very friendly, and the hotel was clean. However, the location of the hotel entrance is at a curve in the road. For safety's sake, you cannot make a left-hand turn onto Tunnel Road. If you want to go left, you have to turn right a do a U-turn at some point. This entrance annoyance is no reflection on the hotel or staff, who were great.

I had initially reserved a king room for my husband and I, but upon arrival the room we were put in was on the first floor by the pool and that was not going to work for us. The chlorine smell in the hallway and in the room was so overwhelming that there was no way we could sleep in there. The room was not only close to the pool, if the window could open you could literally reach out and touch the water. Not sure why anyone would want to have their bedroom window inches away from people playing,... Read more

We always try to stay at this Hampton Inn when we visit Asheville. It is perfectly located for getting around, is right near a Whole Foods & all the major roads, is minutes from downtown, and has safe & secure parking areas. We enjoy the super clean pool & hot tub which is usually very quiet (we are often the only ones using it) and like the outdoor fireplace when it's cool out. Great location close to downtown and the attractions in Asheville - sits up on a hill which is nice and quiet along with two other hotels and a chain Italian restaurant. We stayed on the other side of town last year, and this location (tunnel road) was so much better. It is a nicer area and easier to get everywhere. The Hampton Inn had all of the requirements, plenty of parking, free coffee, indoor pool, and decent rooms.
