My husband and I needed to get back in tune with each other. For that the hotel was wonderful, but not much to do in the hotel otherwise. We went in the off season which may of been part of the0 it was the best 2 nights sleep I've had in forever!!

We recently stayed at the Chestnut Tree Inn because we couldn't get a room at the casino hotel. This hotel was clean and conveniently located to the casino resort. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean but the bed mattresses are definitely old and need to be replaced. The breakfast buffet was probably the best we've had at a hotel in a long time and our server was great. We would definitely stay there again. Free WiFi!

My wife and I came to Cherokee on a spur of the moment trip. We arrived on May 18 and checked out on the 20th. We spent our honeymoon here when it was Holiday Inn and have stayed here since. We decided to check it out again and they gave us a good deal on the stay. It also comes with free breakfast. See Chestnut tree rest reviews for my review of that. This hotel is centrally located. The rooms were very clean and staff were very professional. The only thing I would change would be the pillows. ... Read more

Concerning the room price, we did not expect much about the the quality and service. Anyway, the front desk staff was helpful and quite professional especially when they had to take care of the bill and taxes. It is a motel style, a bit oldish but still functional. The breakfast was just OK too. On the contrary, the housekeepers did not take care of our beds well. The reason they claimed not doing it as there were some clothes on the bed (which never be the case for any other hotels we have b... Read more

The decor in the lobby and restaurant is beautiful. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The pool is lovely and relaxing. The rooms are basic motel rooms and are clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet is free and yummy. I highly recommend touring and attending the Cherokee Village and Unto These Hills outdoor drama.

The motel was clean, and staff was very professional and friendly. They had a complimentary buffet breakfast that was very good, not just cereal and fruit, they actually have a hot breakfast. Very clean and nice pool, beautiful mountain view and the location is perfect. Enjoyed our stay the only thing we missed was our own pillows.

I stayed here for 1 night, I was going to book Harrahs but the cost was very expensive on the trip. This hotel was great. Huge room with everything you would expect. There is a shuttle to harrahs from the hotel free of charge which is helpful. There isn't much food choice in the area which I found very strange. The breakfast was really good, Plenty of choice and lots of it. If I return to the area I will return to this hotel. Great price and value for money

This hotel was comped to us from Harrah's but I'm really surprised...First thing we noticed was the dirty shower with hair and black scum around the bottom and the pealing paint on the door frame. (Didn't shower). Next thing was the Huge stain above the shower that apparently has had water damage from above shower. Next was the mystery stains on the carpet around the base of the dresser drawers where the TV was. Then as we were laying down to sleep I looked up and was absolutely DISGUSTED at the... Read more

This was our first time at this property. Everything was spotlessly clean......very comfortable bed.......beautiful clean pool area, lawn area and playground beautifully mowed and neat. The free breakfast was a real treat.....real, fresh scrambled eggs, real pork sausage, wonderful fluffy biscuits, gravy, grits, hashbrowns, oatmeal, fresh made french toast. Older property, but beautifully maintained.

We stayed here a couple of nights as a cheaper alternative to staying at Harrah's. Older room but clean. Breakfast was much better than traditional continental breakfast that is usually included. It was a full buffet. We would stay here again for what we were looking for-- a place to sleep between slots and blackjack.

Okay, I have stayed there twice so far and the pool is like ice water whether it is June or August because they run a stupid hose of cold water into the pool at all times! Who wants to go to a pool that takes your breath away. It is beautiful to look at but that is it! The left hand doesn't know what the right is doing. We were supposed to have a frig in our room. Told the front desk, told housekeeping, told maintenance. We left after two nights and still had no frig. Has potential but la... Read more

This Inn has outside corridors and the rooms are a little dated, but all in all they are nice. The beds were comfy and the towels super soft! You get 2 free breakfast at the buffet with your room, it had a pretty good variety. All the employees we had contact with were super friendly.

I left my iPad and some dirty clothes in the top dresser drawer when I checked out. My bad (obviously). Everything that has happened since has been a reflection of the extremely bad operation of this motel! I checked out at 8am Sunday morning. I discovered the missing stuff at 11pm Sunday night. I immediately called the Chestnut Tree Inn and was told that nothing was turned in by Housekeeping, but the room was not occupied so it probably wasn't even cleaned that day. I was told that the He... Read more

Nice hotel. The most charming place os the breakfast area with an area full of treasures from the Cherokke culture and the old times inhabitants of the area. Excelent breakfast as well. Very central place.

The hotel has a nice entrance and lobby. The rooms seem very dated and needs a refresh. My room had a smell of bleach in it. The breakfast buffet is great. The Wi-Fi was extremely sporadic and the cellular service with Verizon was weak as well. There were people running around all night in the parking lots and around the level my room was on.

We stayed here 2 nights as a weekend getaway. The place is a former Holiday Inn and everything was very good. Room was clean, housekeeping came in the morning and made it up well. The breakfast is a full restaurant-style hot buffet (two free breakfasts per room are allowed). It was very good and close to things without being right in the busiest part of Cherokee. Rooms open to the outside but felt very safe (I arrived a few hours before my husband). We would stay there again. (Didn't use the poo... Read more

This was a surprisingly nice motel. The room was large and clean, and the staff friendly and helpful. It had an outstanding full buffet breakfast with service included with the room for up to two people. Also a beautiful and large lobby area. It is located very close to all the "action" in Cherokee, which itself is not very large.

We based our mountain road trip at the Chestnut Tree. The hotel check-in was easy and the breakfast was satisfactory. We spent our days in the Smokey Mountains, Gatlinburg, TN, and the Blue Ridge Parkway. We arrived late at night, took showers, and went to bed. We rose early the next morning, had breakfast and went out for the day. The hotel was adequate for our needs. The wifi is spotty so if you need to work, this is not the place to be. If you need to shower, sleep and explore, you cannot bea... Read more

Let me tell you it was a good experience. I stayed there to meet friends to go to Harrahs Cherokee Casino. Checking in was so fast, front desk had out 3 rooms that were joined. We all had a blast, our rooms were very large. beds so comfortable. They do not have refrigerator or microwave, it was not problem. We bought a cheap cooler and used there ice machine, which worked great. Now to the breakfast was so great, they have a cook that worked for Harrahs doing all the cooking, it was Soouther... We were given a comp room by Harrahs to stay at this hotel. I will say it is an older hotel but very clean. It use to be the old Holiday Inn and they have cabinets that house original hotel items. We were given two free breakfast buffets for the following morning. However we never made it down to eat. I would recommend this hotel if your not super picky and are planning to see Cherokee and not hang in the room. My only concern was the lock system on the door was kinda dated. Keep in mind all reviews should be in relation to price point. This location offers pricing at about 70% of the newer locations (typically located closer to the casino). While we typically stay at a newer hotel, due to last minute travel, we opted for the Chestnut. Considering the lower cost, we cannot find any issues with this hotel any will certainly stay in the future without hesitation. The hotel sits back from the road so you get no traffic noise. This place is ok to stay the night if you are just passing through, but don't except a lot if you are staying for the week. Free wifi, how about no wifi at all! They had no wash clothes during our stay, was told to use hand towels REALLY! My family and I stayed 3 nights and not once did house keeping vacuum the floors or change the sheets on the bed, which by the way had blood stains on them.

My mom, sister, and I stayed at Chestnut Tree for one night. We experienced no issues during our stay. Parking was a breeze, the lobby was nicely decorated (very "Cherokee"), and the staff were all kind and attentive. The room was basic, but sufficient. It could have been a touch cleaner (dusty furniture and baseboards, maybe a more thorough vacuuming job), but was satisfactory. Refreshing to for once stay in an hotel that is not part of a large chain such as Hampton, Courtyard, Days Inn etc. The Chestnut tree was nicely decorated and up to specs for a three star motel.
