I recently stayed at the Chestnut Tree Inn. The reviews for this property were primarily decent. The lobby is well-decorated and the staff were accommodating during check-in. The shuttle takes you straight to the Casino and the Breakfast is one of the better Motel breakfast's available in Cherokee. The rooms were basic but generally clean and comfortable.

We came to North Carolina in order to enjoy the Polar Express train ride during the Christmas season. The Chestnut Tree inn was a good value and had fair reviews. Our room was clean but had a very musty smell. We also noticed some black color mold on the bathroom ceiling and in the Bible that was in the drawer. We also were missing the hair dryer and didn't have a trash can. At breakfast (8 am) notified the front desk and they promised both items would be brought right away. As of right now (5:2... All I can say for the place is it's clean and spacious. During a 3 night stay (everything else booked solid) I was totally under impressed with this hotel. I'm not picky and it takes a lot for me to rate places a two...they managed. 1. The constant rattling of the heat unit made it impossible to watch tv without turning it up to shouting levels. 2. Sweat or freeze ...yeah fun. The window units are substandard. 3. Zero water pressure and you can turn the hot on and scald or just a little cold ... Read more

My wife and I stayed 2 nights in November. Was a slow week for visitors so not a great many guests. Had a king room- bed was comfortable, clean, good tv, mini-fridge . Cost was about 1/2 that of Harrah's room and was certainly adequate. The breakfast was good (off the menu one morning and buffet the next). I would stay there again when in the area...

Stay here every autumn. Rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. Breakfast is hot and plentiful. The staff is helpful and well trained. Convenient to the trails and to the downtown areas and Casino is nearby.

This place is a little shady. Noise all night long and is in need of a makeover. There was not outside in the parking lot all night long. I had a free stay at harrah's and when i went to book it they said they did have any rooms available and put me in this place.

I booked my reservation on line, 1 King room 2 Adults. When I was checking in, AFTER confirming via phone two days prior they tried to give me a double room. Then there wasn't any toilet tissue in the room, had to call immediately for that. The following morning there was less than 5 minutes of hot water for a shower. When I explained this at check-out they only said SORRY! I was a noisier room, I could hear most all of the people surrounding us. Clean.

Refreshing to for once stay in an hotel that is not part of a large chain such as Hampton, Courtyard, Days Inn etc. The Chestnut tree was nicely decorated and up to specs for a three star motel. The pool was already closed which was a pity given the warm temperatures mid october. No alcoholic beverages are served within the Cherokee reservation but you can get them at the gas station quite nearby (or go to the casino). The staff were very cheerful and efficient. The Breakfast was simple but tas... Read more

My mom, sister, and I stayed at Chestnut Tree for one night. We experienced no issues during our stay. Parking was a breeze, the lobby was nicely decorated (very "Cherokee"), and the staff were all kind and attentive. The room was basic, but sufficient. It could have been a touch cleaner (dusty furniture and baseboards, maybe a more thorough vacuuming job), but was satisfactory. The wifi was practically useless, and the TV channels were limited, neither of which were a major issue for our short ... Read more

This place is ok to stay the night if you are just passing through, but don't except a lot if you are staying for the week. Free wifi, how about no wifi at all! They had no wash clothes during our stay, was told to use hand towels REALLY! My family and I stayed 3 nights and not once did house keeping vacuum the floors or change the sheets on the bed, which by the way had blood stains on them.
