Uncomfortable bed(s), bathroom way, way, way down the hall with drain backing up in the shower, less than clean common rooms and halls (mostly dust and spider webs) and food left out for guests that also attracted at least one pest that I saw (the rear end of a small vermin as it scurried away). If this wasn't "enough," the host -- who was dealing with stressful circumstances -- totally forgot my need and request for gluten free breakfast foods. She also forgot to mention that guests can request... Read more

My mom and I stayed here for part of RPI's Family Weekend. Would have stayed longer, but we didn't reserve far enough in advance for that busy weekend. A native of Troy, Tina suggested several scenic locales and filled us in on the rich history of the area. Delicious made-to-order breakfast, and room price was 1/2 what we paid at Holiday Inn in Latham. Ask for a room away from 6th St. unless street noise doesn't bother you.

We had an amazing host.Lovely breakfast.Dedicated parking. Good company. Home away from home. A little street noise early in the day. Warm and inviting. Not far from the main highway.Lots of history and great places to walk. Plenty of dining option within walking distance. will be back.

Everything is good here, and usually far better than good. Charming atmosphere, lovely host, great food, abundant breakfasts. It's like no place you've ever stayed; you may be caught off guard (and then intrigued) by the unexpected and distinctive character. But unless you're looking for chlorine-fuming pools, atomic-powered sauna, automatic toenail clippers, and insecticide-drenched polyester sheets‚??you'll love it, and come back again. (We changed our travel plans just to stay here again on t... Read more

The Olde Judge Mansion is a somewhat unconventional bed and breakfast in terms of its location. A cabbie was surprised to learn the building was a B&B, having driven by it countless times. It wasn‚??t to his mind where a B&B normally would be (e.g., secluded country lane, posh urban neighborhood, etc.). The Olde Judge is on a fairly busy avenue that traverses the city of Troy. That can be both a blessing and a drawback. More on that later. The rooms are exactly as they appear on the B&B‚??s web... Read more

My husband and I arrived expecting clean and nostalgic. We got dirty and run down. We love the bed and breakfast experience. But this was dirty with old clothes hanging in the closet. Nothing about it looked like the photos!! I have to wonder what happened...

We passed through Troy on a college tour excursion and stayed here to visit RPI. If you're looking for a historical, authentic place to stay, then this is the place for you. The hostess was very detailed on all of her instructions, cooked a perfect breakfast to order, and was well versed in the history of the area.

Had a great time visiting Troy while staying at the Olde Judge Mansion. Tina does a great job making the guest feel at home. The breakfast was excellent. The house was built in 1892 by my Great Grandmothers father so it was nice to see that Tina had brought the building back to life and people are enjoying the homestay feeling. I will be staying again on my next trip.

This was my first bed & breakfast experience and it did not disappoint. I was quite surprised to find this place so close to RPI and in a not appealing part of Troy. Despite the area this place satisfies my needs of a cozy place to sleep with the added bonus of a fully stocked breakfast home made by the innkeeper, Tina.

LOVELY Old Victorian Home and furnishings! Room= just fine. Bathroom down the hall=inconvenient. EXCELLENT, pleasant & helpful Host & YUMMY made-to-order Breakfasts! Run-down (dangerous?) in-town Neighborhood location. Lots of street traffic.

Nice, clean place to stay. Good value. Tina was very friendly and served a great made to order breakfast. If you're visiting RPI it's a great, overnight , close place to stay. If you are visiting RPI you can get a discount which I thought was great.
