We were in the area for a funeral of a young person. Our family was in shock due to the young age and tragic death. It was as if the hotel staff sensed our pain; they were so kind. Our extended relatives visit the area often and will stay at this hotel in the future despite the fact it is a little distance from some of the relatives in the area.

This HGI property has never disappointed. Staff is knowledgeable of the area and super friendly. Lobby snacks around the clock and the best toffee chocolate chip cookies in the evening! Bar and restaurant are standard HGI, but staff makes them seem like destinations. Very clean even though it's always busy!

Clean and spacious hotel. I travel a lot on business and found this stay to be very comfortable and convenient. They had orange infused and cucumber infused water out in the lobby. They put treats out at some point as well - in all it felt very welcoming.

Microwave and refrigerator in the room is nice. There is only one elliptical in the exercise room so expect to wait to use it. Location of the hotel isn't the best-> I would not go out running around the area. Hotel is right off the main road to the highway so factor that in the morning commute as it adds traffic time. The hotel appears to have no parking from the street but there is plenty of parking at the off street side. I was travelling by motorcycle and the let motorcycles park under the entrance canopy. That started things right for me. The staff was very friendly and the service was good. My wife and I were the only ones eating dinner there ,but the food was good. Excellent hotel very convenient to downtown Troy. The staff was friendly overall and helpful. The location was very convenient to downtown Troy as well as Albany. It is less that an hour to Bennington Vermont. There are many restaurants within a short drive from the hotel.

Ensure you use a credit card (the same one) at check-in as when you booked otherwise you will be CHARGED twice for the room + incidentals. Meaning if your room is $175, they'll charge you $375 (take out of your bank if you use debit). We are still waiting a week later for our $200 to be refunded. Most hotel place a hold on the funds, but do not charge you. Hilton blame us for the issue, and made no amends for the BS.

We decided to have this hotel serve as the location for our ceremony and reception. Such a good idea on our part because everyone here made our day more special than we could have imagined! The service during the reception was amazing the waitstaff was very attentive and helped us keep to our schedule. We were able to stay the night before and after in the Presidential suite and it was perfect for hanging out with my bridesmaids the night before and then getting reading the morning of. There was... our first stay in this hotel.. vey clean. no odor, comfortable beds and rooms have mini-fridge and Keurig coffeemakers etc. the staff were exceedingly friendly and helpful and we used teh new HIlton login where i was able to pre-register which made checkin take only 3 seconds!. Our only negative is that breakfast is $11 pp which feels excessive when other local hotels provide it free.

My husband and I were in TROY, NY, for his 50th Reunion. We chose to stay at the Hilton Garden Inn, because we wanted easy access to all the venues at his school. But, we were pleasantly surprised that the hotel offered many amenities that we used - like a shuttle service back and forth to the school, a terrific breakfast buffet (omelets, too!), and very friendly staff members.

This hotel really does try to make sure your stay is a good one. As a hotel guest I really appreciate that. They really tried to make everything wonderful. The Hilton Honors Program is a great program and we will always choose Hilton because they really do care.

First time I've ever been to Troy, came into town for a wedding. This place was closest to the reception, and everything was great. Nice room, well equipped, and a wonderful and dedicated staff. If I'm ever up that way again, I know where I'll be staying. Great bar in the lower level, too.

My Dear Readers: Never have I experienced quite the colossal reservation mess up. After driving a long 5 1/2 hours thru fog and rain, we arrived at our lovely temporary abode, the Hilton Garden Inn in Troy, NY. Exhausted and worn out, we came to quickly find that Surprise!! Our one-bedroom suite we had booked over 6 months ago had been given away to another patron!! Lovely!! The joy on our crabby companions faces was palpable. And of course, this being an extremely busy weekend in Troy there... Read more

This hotel is very close to and has a close relationship with RPI (Rensselaer), which was my reason for staying there. I splurged a little on a junior suite and was very satisfied with the spacious room, though the murphy bed could have been a but more comfy. (I assume regular rooms have more conventional beds). Downstairs was a quite decent sports bar that seemed active every night. Didn't try the restaurant. Parking was convenient. Pro tip: if going up Hoosick Street your left turn into the ... Read more

My experience was very good interacting with the staff. Very polite. The public areas were very nice although the rooms were a little plain.I ate in the hotel three times. My food was very good. I am gluten free and also my niece who was staying there. The staff at our Friday night dinner found out and brought us bowls of fruit for desert. We really appreciated it.

Check in was a breeze with the app on my phone. Room was nice, clean and fine for my needs. Room service was a disappointment. It arrived in a bag in paper cartons. If I had known this, I wouldn't have ordered a steak which I had to cut with plastic utensils and eat out of a paper carton that was disintegrating as I ate. Awful and tacky.

Nice hotel and nice amenities. Beware of late hotel check-in, I arrived at 1:30am and the front doors were locked and access required a room key, which of course I did not have yet. No doorbell, no intercom, the front desk is far away so nobody knew I was there. Thankfully, after 15 minutes, another guest returned to the hotel and I was able to get in.

bar food this trip was below par. Many of the guest had to send the food back for either being under cooked or over cooked. Was very disappointed with the food at the Recovery Bar in the Hotel. Next time I don't know if I will eat at the bar again. May givr it one more time to see if it improved.

We were not expecting much when arriving at this hotel, and the room was fairly typical for a high-quality chain hotel, but it exceeded expectations in every other way: service, amenities, etc. The overall atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and there is a good sports bar off the lobby, which doesn't hurt!

The front desk staff couldn't do enough to help, they have a really nice buffet breakfast with cooked to order eggs and other items also. I was happy to stay in this new hotel until I tried to go to sleep. The hotel is next to a busy road and my room was right next to it. Heard trucks all night. I'm a Diamond Member and I don't want special treatment but if the front desk knew that the side of the hotel was noisy, they should have put me on the other side. Will not stay here again. Otherwise, hotel was spotless and comfy beds.
