Excellent hotel located in business section of the city. Rooms very clean and a good size. Get deal of construction going on across the street yet we could not hear it from inside the hotel. You could walk to convention center and a number of other hotels without going outside. Felt safe as a result. Desk staff went out of their way for us.

Beautifully appointed hotel, right down to the doorknobs! Excellent breakfast buffet for $6.95. A bar with lots of character and we loved our bartender. Room well appointed and spotlessly clean. Parking right next door...no valet charges. I'd come bacon a heartbeat.

First time at this property since the Doubletree raised their rates. All in all an ok stay. One of the reasons food in the restaurant. I can always get a good burger a chicken sandwich or half a chicken dinner. The menu here was a little eclectic. Duck confit etc. This is not what I expect or want at this type hotel.most likely will not return too this property

I like the Hilton Garden Inn brand. Staff here is very nice and tries hard, but the hotel itself is lacking. The floors are an endless rabbit warren of corridors and many of the rooms only look out into air shafts. It all feels a little claustrophobic. Neighborhood outside the door leaves much to be desired.

I had the opportunity to recently stay at this Garden Inn. It's a bit tricky to get to because of construction (I was told that it's almost completed) but certainly worth it! This was by far the best and most modern Garden Inn that I have ever stayed at. Great check in and they even upgraded my room to a suite. Everyone in the hotel was super friendly. In addition, the rooms are extremely spacious and they have a wonderful restaurant and bar located in the hotel. This hotel is definitely a... Read more

Very pretty interior, good service, clean and quiet rooms. Really, no reasons to complain. And close enough to walk to Dinosaur Barbecue, I had a late checkout, slept late, and spent several hours working in the room without interruption. Would definitely stay again.

Good location for downtown helpful staff disappointing accommodation. Finding the parking lot is the first challenge no signage for hotel and poor lighting on upper levels does not inspire confidence. Very noisy ac But biggest disappointment is old motel room ambiance with cardboard cups and old brown furnishings. Hilton has created a new category "urban motel"

This unexceptional property is perfect for people who enjoy solving mysteries--like trying to find out how to get to the entrance. Because of street construction, the entrance is neither on the street advertised, nor on a street that will take you to the correct side street (one way going the wrong way). Since most of the other streets in the neighborhood are one-way, this provides a challenge for out-of-towners (e.g. the type of people who stay at hotels).

The only con was the price. I stayed last year and this years price were higher for a smaller room, but I was satisfied because the room was still nice and clean. The staff was friendly as well and they told me when to book my room next year to keep the cost down.

Other than the fact that hotel is right next to major construction it is a very comfortable place to stay. Entrance a little confusing as it is listed as 155 East Main and it is actually on a side street.

I love it that this hotel was previously a clothing store which has been repurposed into an elegant and quaint Hilton Garden Inn. We enjoyed a large and spacious room. However, the room had hardwood or laminate flooring in the front. I'm not sure why hotel chains are moving in this direction since this is much louder than carpet. There is a beautiful atrium and noise from the band playing in the Drifters lounge drifted easily into our room late into the night. Carpet throughout probably would ha... Read more

I'm surprised to read some of the previous negative reviews. I agree that the hotel was a little challenging to find due to construction on the side street - but that's a temporary situation and not the fault of the hotel. the parking at the Hilton Garden Inn Rochester is in a ramp when I checked in they validated my parking slip. We thought we would be in the middle of the action, but its location is more in the business centre, and there aren't that many restaurants, bars, pubs, attractions close-by. Located right in the heart of Rochester. The rooms were very nice. One of the best beds I have slept in. The lobby area runs into the breakfast area and bar. Clean look and very appealing. The bar was friendly with a great bartender. Breakfast was wonderful. $10.95 for all you can eat buffet and they made the food to order. There was a nice pool and workout room. The staff was very courteous. The design of this hotel was thought out. I would recommend this hotel for a stay and would stay h... Read more

Well maintained Hilton, with lots of space and attractive rooms. The bar in the hotel is wonderful, with great staff and delicious food. Most importantly the hotel had a nice "welcoming vibe" which made the coming and going during our stay less stressful.

Nicely remodeled hotel right in the heart of downtown Rochester. Covered parking garage adjacent to hotel, fast check in, very clean hotel with attentive staff. Would stay again, the location has ease of access to expressway system.

Everything with this hotel was in pristine condition. At check in there were fresh cookies which is always an added bonus when staying at any Hilton property. Was recognized as a Hilton Honors member as soon as I told them who I was. The staff was exceptionally friendly and whenever I passed any member of the staff in the hallway they always had a smile on their face!

Hotel and the front desk staff were excellent but the Restaurant staff not so much. It didn't open on time, chef didn't show up. Direct access to parking would be nice. Beautiful hotel and would highly recommend.

When I stayed in this hotel in July 2016, I gave it a top rating in tripAdvisor. But since then the costumer service has deteriorated and finding parking is a chore. The front desk manager was rude and argumentative when we questioned the room that she was assigning. She initially gave a closet-sized room with view of a alley and construction but after lots of arguments gave us a nicer room with at least a roof top view.

Very awkward hotel entrance, with confusing parking garage... Room had no tub and inefficient shower... Beds and pillows are comfy... Breakfast was good, eggs made fresh, with excellent service... Front desk staff very friendly and knowledgeable..

Nice hotel, nicely appointed, clean and updated. The elevators smell horrid...no idea why. Parking is in the deck next door. The hotel restaurant is good. Beautiful courtyard area. Located within walking distance to much of downtown. The current construction made getting there with GPS near impossible. Hopefully that will be concluded soon.

We stayed here while attending a wedding and couldn't have asked for a better location. Located next to the convention center, it is easy to get to any location in the city due to its proximity to both the interstate and the loop. Really great is the complimentary in and out parking next door, with spots specifically reserved for the hotel. Inside the rooms are reasonably sized, ours was a double queen, clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly, attentive and accommodating. Procedural qu... Read more

This hotel is in a very bad location. It is hard to find, and to find parking if you are not familiar with the area is right next to impossible. The room we had is very good (clean and the bed was comfortable). I thought the price for the room was high and the price for the food at the hotel was too high although the food was good. I will not stay at this hotel at this location again.

Good location for walking the downtown and with very convenient free parking when you need to go further. Quiet and easy access to the room and the faculties. Staff was very helpful and the internet was also free, without using my Hilton membership.

This is a very good hotel. It is a 4 minutes walk to the convention centre and downtown. The room is fine, the restaurant is very good and the fitness centre is more than adequate. A few restaurants close to the hotel. 15 minute taxi ride to the airport. No uber in Rochester. I had a good week except that the temperature dropped and it was cold, windy and raining by the time i left.

We chose to stay downtown over a hotel closer to our friends because we had HH points and also wanted the views of the city at night. We ended up in a claustrophobic room that was very narrow and small. The "view" was a rooftop, mysterious door and another rooms window. The parking is awful, if you don't have a ton of luggage, it may not be bad. When you arrive at midnight with two children in tow and lots of luggage, it's not fun to walk two flights of stairs and out of a parking garage. Not w... Read more

We just returned home from a four night stay at the Hilton Garden Inn in Rochester. Our son was attending a music conference at the Eastman School of Music which is just a few blocks away from the hotel. We found this hotel to be perfect for our needs. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The towels were very soft which is something that I usually do not really notice. The rooms include a mini fridge and a Keurig type coffee maker. I was also very appreciative that cream was provided... Read more

This is a great hotel for those who need to be downtown. It's centrally located and feels quite new: the common areas and rooms are all fresh and clean and decorated in a modern style. We really enjoyed our dinner in the lobby restaurant, whose menu was focused on seasonally available food. Everything seemed to be made from scratch and was much better quality than I'm used to finding in hotel restaurants. The staff were friendly and efficient. This is an excellent spot to stay if you're attendin... Read more

We Stayed here for my daughters hockey tournament. The rooms are nice and the hotel itself is small but well appointed. The area of town has little to offer except a great BBQ joint. The only major downfall for a team is the tiny pool. The staff were very good.

We had a lovely stay in Rochester. The staff was so friendly, even talking is through getting to the parking garage over the phone. Our housekeeper prepared a delightful surprise in the room for our anniversary weekend. The front desk was more than hospitable. The breakfast was tasty. The workout facilities are spacious. The space is grand, but unique to Rochester, as it's a recently remodeled historic building.

This was a great hotel, very conveniently located to Tower 280 and all that downtown Rochester has to offer. The beds were comfy and the bathrooms were newly renovated. The only issue is that none of the rooms have a great view, so you won't be able to get a sweeping view of the city. That being said, we slept really well and it was a very spacious room. I would definitely stay there again the next time I am in Rochester.

We stayed a few days at the Hilton Garden Inn Rochester Downtown, 155 East Main Street Rochester, NY 14604, (585) 232-5000 and I have mixed reviews. This is Rochester's newest hotel, originally home to the National Clothing Company, established in 1924, with high ceilings and marble floors, an arboretum, heated indoor swimming pool, fitness center with state of the art equipment and a convenient location. Unfortunately, we circled the block twice before jumping out of the car and asking wh... Read more

A wonderful hotel, great bed and so quiet but a few things.. I love that the hotel supposed and provides food to the homeless population downtown but there is not oversight on who comes in and out of the hotel. Homeless individuals come in and wander the hotel and panhandle the guests. Since there is no oversight on who enters, I was afraid that I would find someone wandering the halls of the guest rooms. The breakfast service is so slow. It took over 20 minutes to order breakfast. The bar serv... Read more

The hallways were a bit worn, but the room was clean and comfortable. Very quiet. The parking garage with free entry and exit was very helpful and convenient during out stay. A few restaurants nearby, and close enough to walk to the Strong and Science Museums. The parking garage is currently under construction, so the road is a one way and a bit harder to navigate, but nothing that interrupted our stay. No free breakfast, although it looked nice enough for a hotel at $10.95 and kids under 6 were... Read more

I have to admit that I prefer new hotels. This a great example. We were able to check in a little early and select our room. Room 519 was almost perfect. Top floor, southern exposure and nice view. They provide you with a parking pass that is good for some nearby surface spots or in the nearby College Town parking garage. I preferred the latter to stay out of the weather. I can say that I have stayed in every major hotel in downtown Rochester and the Garden Inn ranks # 1 for me. The hotel is in a re-purposed space that used to be a clothing store. What an amazing transformation. I arrived a bit early and was able to get into my room. The rooms are very clean and well appointed. The bathrooms come with a very large shower. My only complaint would be that the door to the shower requires that you have to reach a bit to adjust the water. The rooms all have a mi... Read more
