I booked this hotel when my first choice hotel in Hyde Park was full. It is a perfectly acceptable hotel. Nothing exciting but comfortable and easy to get to. The rooms are nothing special but do have in room coffee makers with surprisingly decent coffee, a microwave and a mini fridge with a freezer that worked well enough to refreeze a blue ice pack. The room does include breakfast but it is continental with fewer choices than most hotels with this kind of breakfast: whole wheat bread, cardboar... Read more

Rooms were in rough shape and wouldn't get on the best cleaned list. Front desk staff was rude and refused to accomodate our promised late check out from booking. Shower water was either scalding hot or freezing cold. Rooms are very small and old. No elevator for upper floors.

When I arrived at this location I was rudly spoken to, given dirty looks, and did not feel welcome at all but like it was a hassel to check me in. When I left with my husband and our friends for dinner in the evening we forgot our key. Our husbands stayed out in town while we came back because we were tired..... Now when we described our situation, Iorn, the night clerk, made disgusting anti femenist comments to myself and my female friend. He made comments about my marriage, my husband and th... Read more

Check in was quick...arrived around 8:00 p.m. We had booked and paid through Expedia and got a non-smoking king sized bed for about $93.00 with tax. Upon arrival we asked to be in a quiet location...can't stand being able to hear doors slam or toilets flushing, footsteps or voices all night. We were nicely accommodated in Room 128. The room was very nice - standard in that price range. Clean, comfortable and it had everything we needed - a small microwave, refrigerator and coffeemaker. The... Read more

The lobby, was, cheerful with a photo mural of Daisy's over the front desk setting the mood for summer*, and there were comfortable leather chairs . It was open to view of its breakfast area with unique stone topped tables and a lovely floor. The person at the desk was very welcoming. Our room, like the lobby area was immaculate with a large flat screen TV, refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. We had a quiet nights sleep, as did our relative in another room.We enjoyed the light continenta... Read more

My wife and I stayed here recently for a wedding. Getting to our "non-smoking" room required walking through a hallway that was filled with cigarette smoke. It was disgusting. The room itself also developed an odor that was hard to eliminate. Smoking rooms, if you must offer them (and I find it hard to believe that hotels still do), should be far away from the rest of the rooms.

Friendly, accommodating staff. Safe area. Continental breakfast. Comfortable beds. Good water pressure. There is not enough electrical service. There are 2 desks against one wall but only one electrical outlet. This outlet services both the refrigerator, a lamp and a microwave. The rug need to be cleaned as they darkened the soles of my white socks. We would stay here again.

For the money this hotel is a good value, our room was clean and comfortable. There were a bunch of young people with British accents staying the same night we were and they were partying and running up and down the halls at 4am but I can't really blame the hotel for that. I'd stay again and hope for a more peaceful night.

OK for an overnight pit stop. Conveniently located just off the Thruway and a mile or so from New Paltz village. Clean rooms, accommodating front desk. Rooms are small, short on outlets. Skimpy towels and amenities. Smoky smell in hallways even in non smoking wing. Breakfast offerings are meager. There aren't a lot of lodging options in New Paltz and other places down the road tend to be much pricier. Head into town for good dining options and some funky shops in a college town atmosphere.

The first two things we noticed were how pleasant the woman at the front desk was when we checked in and the weird, covered up cigarette smell in the lobby. This hotel has 1970's decor but not in a cool, funky way, just a dark, never updated kind of creepy way because you know it has seen 40+ years of use. The bathroom was pretty clean, no mildew and the peeling paint wasn't too bad or the huge chunk of plaster that is about to fall off the wall behind the toilet wasn't even so bad. Then I pull... Stay away! Found bed bug in towel in bathroom. Room was dirty and hallway smelled of stale cigarettes. Management could of cared less that they have bugs. Pick any other place to stay even under a rock would be better.

This hotel is your basic side of the highway hotel. The staff were friendly but the rooms were rather small. It is a good place to stop overnight as it is close to the thruway and New Paltz is a 5 min drive away.

Well, the room was clean and had 2 beds, but was very small. The beds were a little mushy, but fine if you like that sort of thing. A little noisy because you can hear the traffic from the nearby Interstate. But the worst thing was the breakfast. Basically rolls and cereal. No protein of any kind. You should definitely plan to eat out.

Located close to a Thruway exit, it was perfect for our visit. It has entrances on 2 roads and a local ordinance allows for only one sign. That, combined with some local construction, made it a little difficult to get in. Otherwise clean, with helpful attendants, it has a free limited breakfast policy that enables one to get back on the road without having to look for a place to eat.

The rest of the motels in New Paltz are below average. A new motel is being built and will be available in January. The room was adequate and good for someone that is not spending too much time there. Breakfast was below average. The drive in & out of Terrwilliger Lane to the road going to the motel is very difficult----cars blocking in both directions. It is close to the downtown area and to the college. New Paltz really needs new motels!

We had never been to New Paltz and were please with the America Best Value Inn due to its location. Furthermore, the rooms were nice sized, included a king bed, recently updated, and clean. They include a modest continental breakfast as well. The price was on the low end.

We had a wonderful weekend from the start. As my wife and I are both handicapped carrying suitcases is a challenge, so the manager Kim and Annie came out and helped us move our bags to our room. Later, Kim checked up on us to make sure all was well. We found our room was clean and fully stocked with all supplies. We spent 3 days and each day the room was cleaned and restocked with all necessary supplies. Upon checkout we were again assisted with our bags. We were very pleased with the entire wee... Read more

We booked a room in August for October 30. Somehow when we arrived we were not in the computer. The woman at The desk was so helpful and calming. Thankfully we did get a room for the night. Our room was clean & comfortable. Everything we needed after a 5 hr ride.

I never go to New Paltz without staying there. Before I stayed there, there were some other places that were either more money & not worth it or too far out of town. Location=perfect. Cynthia, Colleen, Gail, & Kimberly have worked there for a long time and they are wonderful, friendly, always helpful, to select one appropriate adjective, EXEMPLARY! If you need a bottom floor, when you make a reservation, clearly state because there are 2 floors and only a staircase. WiFi, nice size fl... Read more

The room was sold at a very reasonable price. The room was clean but a little on the small size. The staff were very welcoming and went out of their way to help. Breakfast was ok but with very limited choices. There is some traffic noise at night which was bearable in our room but some rooms could be more affected. The inn is well situated for restaurants, a food supermarket and the village.

I stay in this hotel at least 4 times a year and the people that work there are all amazing. The rooms are clean with free wifi, frig, microwave, makeup mirrors, hairdryers, flat screen tv with many channels they have it all and the prices are reasonable. Location is perfect and walking distance to town. Continental breakfast is an added bonus. Kudos to the staff.

The staff was very friendly. The hotel was right off the highway and easy to find. I got my room through Priceline and got a great price. The room was quiet and comfortable. I had a great night sleep. Breakfast was good. They had Leggo waffles. Would stay here again.

We have stayed at this place in the past. It used to be a Super 8. The rooms have been fixed up and are clean and the location is good. Only shortfall is the cost. We paid $205 on a Saturday night. The room value is closer to $109. The breakfast was a bit cheap.

Clean large room, really nice staff. Close to town . Stop here on a whim and they were able to accommodate us with a room. The breakfast was so so but about what you would expect for that price range.

We have been staying her since it was the super 8 in the 90's and it's the best little hotel in the area. It's a perfect distance from town and of course the hiking at Mohonk and Minnewaska. The price is right and the cancellation policy is wonderful even though we rarely cancel. There are plenty of parking spaces and you never have to walk more than a few hundred feet to get to your room.

Booked a room. Cancelled within the required time frame. Hotel refused to refund any money. Lied about ever speaking with me. Attempted to get a refund through the third party booker hotels.com and they couldn't help me with them either. Avoid at all costs.

This is the first time I have stayed here. There are not many choices of hotels in New Paltz. I expected a basic hotel - clean quiet room, fair price, & decent free breakfast. It was difficult to find. The turn you make off the street had no sign & the street where you turn looks like it goes nowhere. The room was as basic as you can get. Yes, it was clean. The window was showing the highway & we heard highway traffic through a closed window. The free breakfast was the worst I have had & I have... Read more

It was clean, but it was depressing. I felt like I was staying in a shelter. It was too outdated, and the hallways had a musty moldy smell. But, the room was basic enough to sleep in. We overlooked some garbage outside. And, I didn't like that there was no elevator like a motel. The fitness room was like a large closet with 3 pieces of equipment. I didn't understand why all the fuss to get a key for a treadmill. You have to sign in at the desk. A treadmill is not that special. A little bi... Read more

Americas Best Value Inn provides the basics, plus a continental breakfast. As a previous reviewer wrote, it's much like an old-school roadside motel sans rooms with exterior doors. Pros: very comfortable pillows. The continental breakfast was adequate, with coffee, juices, cereals, yogurt, muffins, etc. Cons: rooms are basic but not particularly nice, "fitness room" is remarkably inhospitable. It's kept locked (had to go find someone to open it), is tiny, equipment is dated, and although th... Read more
