Westhouse has been my NY 'home' 3 times, great, convenient location, friendly, professional staff, great beds and baths. I highly recommend, with 1 caveat: the daily $40.00 hospitality charge for the breakfast buffet, internet, and evening bar/light buffet. Last year this was terrific and enhanced the hotel's experience, this year the hours have been shortened and the food/drink offerings downgraded to mediocre. I hope they will return to their earlier standards, then I will return!

The location of WESTHOUSE is picture perfect, close to times square, close to central park, close to MOMA, rockefeller center, near museum mile. Ask for rooms on the 23rd floor, killer views, super quiet and huge by New York standards (to be honest by any standards). The 40 a day resort is totally worth it. Unlimited high quality bottled waters, espresso drinks, tea, 24 a day, Free drinks *wine, beer, champagne, in the bar, killer dinners, seafood paella, and the breakfast is tops, eggs, meats,... Could not fault this hotel at all. Great staff (big should out to Raphael on the bar - he was fab), clean rooms, the most comfortable bed ever!! Excellent breakfast and evening food. Three blocks from Central Park. Short-ish walk to Time Square. Subway on corner of street and situated on 55th Street, between 7th Avenue and Broadway. Yes, you have to pay $42 per room, per night but for that you get breakfast, lovely one option (by that I mean perhaps a cold pasta dish with chicken, fish, ... Read more

Awesome place to stay in terms of location, friendliness of staff, great breakfast food, and overall cleanliness. My wife and I stayed at the Westhouse for 2 nights. We got transferred there from the next-door hotel (Park Central); I think they had overbooked the rooms. Overall, we couldn't be happier with this transfer/upgrade.

This hotel feels like coming home. The rooms are beautifull and clean. THE Beds are terrific. THE service is great and THE location is perfect. THE additional fee you pay per day for drinks, high tea and buffet brings a lot of extra' s. Very good price Quality level. THE breakfast buffet is the only thing That can be improved. A little bit more variety would make THE five stars complete.

We had a very pleasant experience at the WestHouse Hotel as the staff was very friendly and helpful. The only issue I had was that I need a gluten free diet due to celiac and the hotel was not able to accommodate very well.

A last minute overnight to Manhattan led us to look for a hotel on line. We truly lucked out with the Westhouse. It is a lovely boutique hotel a few blocks from Times Square and all of the broadway shows. The only hitch is a $40 per person residence fee required on check in. To be fair this does include all food consumption on the premises and breakfast was a wonderful European Style buffet with ham, cheeses, breads, croissants, hard-boiled eggs, fruit, espresso, cappuccino, lattes, coffee, teas... Beautiful, newly renovated hotel in a great part of the city. Near Central Park and Broadway shows, but you avoid the crowds you may experience staying in Times Square. Amenity fee was worth it--great breakfast spread, but doesn't include a hot breakfast. We really enjoyed the "light fare" and drinks in the Den in the evening. It was heartier than we expected and the service was great! The Terrace on the 23rd floor was great for relaxing in the evening before heading to bed.

I get that it's New York City, but it was over $1000 to stay here for 2 nights for me. I have no problem with that, if it's worth it. For that in Switzerland or Norway you can get an absolutely amazing experience. Not here unfortunately. The room was tiny and the view was awful. Bathroom was just average. Beds were very comfortable, thankfully. I wouldn't stay here again though, just not a good value at all.

Great location, amazing, helpful and ingratiating staff, superior guest rooms, good food and drink -- all add up to one of the best hotels in the Big Apple. Don't believe me? Couldn't access the room set aside for us until 5:00 and my husband was extremely tired from the flight and wanted nap before the Ranger game so they up graded us to a suite at no extra charge. The charge for the breakfast, snack and dinner was more than worth it. The people from the front desk/consierge to the terrace breakfast/snack staff were polite and accommodating. We're not royalty but we sure felt like it!

This newly opened hotel is spacious and modern with a great restaurant and ideally located for vacations or business meetings. The room we had with double beds were super comfortable with eco friendly touches. The restaurant was very good. We had the breakfast plan which offered a wonderful American style breakfast and good service. The staff is young and energetic and extremely competent. We will come again.

A breeze to check in and out. Excellent staff, friendly, helpful and very professional. The residents fee for breakfast, afternoon coffee/tea, and evening cocktails is a real bargain. Super clean hotel. Looking forward to our next stay.

Stayed for 7 nights for a girly week away for my 40th. Absolutely loved it. The daily residents fee was 100% worth it, the breakfasts and evening light bites were always delicious and varied and we made sure we took full advantage of the free bar between 5 - 8pm. The room had a fantastic view of Times Square and was clean and comfortable. All staff were lovely, and always helpful and polite. The location was perfect, shops, Central Park, Times Square all within 10 mins walk. If I'm lucky enough ... Read more

Stayed for three nights in Sep/Oct 2016. I was going with a friend, so we had a double queen room. We were delighted with the amenities provided of breakfast; wine and beer or non-alcoholic drinks with "light fare" in the late afternoon (Happy Hour?); bottles of plain or fizzy water in the room. The beds were very comfortable and the room and bathroom were clean. One evening we were going to the theatre at Lincoln Center, and it was an easy walk. I would stay there again if/when I get back ... Read more

After a horrible stay at Aria hotel in Vegas I was eager for a great service and my wish was granted. Checking in didn't take long and we were greeted with warmth. Luckily, we got an upgrade to our room which was a huge advantage. The room is modern and has an amazing view of the city. And best of all the location of the hotel is perfect especially for shoppers and broadway lovers. I would definitely recommend it to anyone going to stay there as well as go back and stay at it myself.

The location of this hotel is perfect, walking distance from central park and times square and fifth ave. The staff were very friendly. The room size was good and the pillows were comfortable. My room was next to the elevator so it was a little noisy but other than that everything was fine.

A lovely hotel with easy access to the theater district and excellent staff. The room was large - by NYC standards; the staff was kind; gracious and very considerate. It was a really nice addition to include breakfast and high tea. Security is also excellent

The prestige suite is the absolute best suite you can get in New York City for the view and affordability. We arrived at the hotel at 3pm and were told that the room was not going to be ready until about 6pm because the guest the night before had not left yet. That was a little concerning but the hotel manager gave us a slight discount and a room to change in until it was ready. Once we got up there we realized exactly why we had to wait. The view from the terrace is inspiring, especially spent ... Read more

Tarick and Ashley at the front desk are warm and accommodating, always greeting us with a warm smile as we come and go. Located on 55th between 7th and Broadway, this boutique hotel has a $40/adult charge that includes breakfast and afternoon tea on the 23rd floor "Terrace" (which has one), and evening drinks and generous hors d'oeuvres in the bar. We highly recommend it, and have already booked our next trip.

Westhouse is an excellent hotel! It's located in midtown Manhattan. Central Park, 5th Avenue shopping and Radio City Music Hall are within short walking distance. While the basic amenities of this property are acceptable, the elements that lead it to earning a "Certificate of Excellence" by TripAdvisor, or it's high ratings, really make me question the system. Rooms are clean, normal NYC size, good property location, but...service is really poor. First, and of utmost importance, we checked our bags for the day at the hotel due to our early arrival. When we arrived back at the hotel, we found our bags stored literally by the front door, loose and virtua... Read more

We got a good deal on this hotel, but were a bit apprehensive about having to pay a 40$ hotel tax per person per day. We need not have worried. The extras contained in the tax were well worth it. Excellent snacks and light meals. Happy hour was a treat. The staff were extremely helpful and courteous and we would have no hesitation staying here again. It is an ideal location to see NYC`s attractions.

There was little to no noise at night so the room was nice and quite. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. I cannot fathom why this property has received a Certificate of Excellence. We are well travelled, and seldom have such a disappointing experience that I'm inspired to write a negative review. Let me start with the security issue: We checked our luggage with the bellhop when we arrived early (9:00 a.m.) Upon return at 3:00, we discovered our luggage sitting on an open cart, literally by the revolving door, with no hotel employee anywhere in site for the 25+ minutes (yes--that long) it took ... This is a great place to stay. What I felt sets this place apart from others I stayed in were the breakfast and the evening wine service that is available at no extra charge to the hotel guests. The breakfast is served in a large breakfast room on the 23rd floor buffet style and would impress even the most discriminating guest - at least in my opinion. The one complaint I have about breakfast is that when I called a week ahead of our stay to inquire what to expect, I was told by the person wh... Read more

Pay attention to the extra rates that might be charged. So let me begin with the good part. The hotel is cool, sofisticasted, new, clean, attentive staff, close to the Central Park (what we were looking for). We booked it through hotels.com and prepaid, since it was at a good price. It included breakfast - which was good, but could've been better, and also snacks during the day, which was nice.
