The room was called "Cozy Queen" which was about the size of a queen size bed plus 2 - 3 feet around the bed, and bathroom the smallest I've ever had to experience. In addition the air conditioner keep both of us awake when it cut in atl east every 1/2 hour

Service was poor from valet to front desk and then concierge showed limited support in printing out a document. W staff always seem to have something more important than helping the customer. Room was OK for NYC although hot and the Air con made a loud noise so had to turn it off. The late night concierge lady with "colourful" hair was awesome and went above and beyond to help me out - She is definitely your saving grace.

I admit that I am a fan of the W chains but there's a reason. Great customer service. I enjoy staying at this hotel for its location, the easy access to the Bliss spa, located within the hotel and the great service. The rooms I've stayed in have varied a bit - from a smaller room to a suite - but the decor is a little more modern and in good condition. If you get room service, you might have it delivered by Reza, if you're lucky, And then if you come back - even months later - he remembers you. ... Read more

W is good in one respect. The location is very good if you have a lot of dealings on the East side of New York, and it is within walking distance of Grand Central and many good restaurants. The rooms are very small. I think the price they extract from you is overboard for what you get. But that's NYC.

This is a very comfortable hotel, but not at all appropriate for a traveler on a budget. Pros : excellent location, clean, comfortable bed. Cons : cost, excessive noise from the hotel bar (we arrived to our hotel to a fistfight in front of the main doors), rooms are small, 15$ surcharge for wifi. Despite the location, there are better alternatives for a better price. The main reason for the three star rating (instead of two) is due to the staff being very courteous and knowledgeable, and the... Read more

As a Platinum For Life SPG member, I'm very loyal to the SPG brand, and when in NYC, more often than not I will stay at this property - even though I do love several of the other SPG options in the city. The rooms at The W New York are always clean, well appointed and they make sure my special requests are handled promptly. And the staff members are always very friendly and helpful when needed. My New York weekend started at the W Hotel on Lexington Avenue. I was greeted Buy Derron who is always courteous and welcoming. The Derron knew how to point me to all the right directions from Rockefeller Center to Tao restaurant. He's one of the main reasons I come back to that hotel time and time again. This hotel is in the perfect spot for so many attractions which makes it really easy to get to. The meatball at Lavo restaurant nearby is a must for Foodies. I can't wait to go back!

We're currently staying at the W New York, Lexington ave and travelled from the UK for our first time ever in the US. When we arrived we were able to check in early, however one of the lady's at the front that we spoke to didn't seem as friendly as we would have expected, so that had put us off from going downstairs to ask any questions. (Minus half a rating). Other staff such as the cleaners and maintenance always have a smile on there face and we're very welcoming, even saying the off "hi" h... Read more

This hotel is clean and tidy. The only down sides i could see whilst i visited the W New York is that walls are very thin and you could hear people in the hallway when they are checking in and out of the hotel. the security is very good specially as you need to use your room key to use the lift, it would of been nice if they had explained that on check in but luckily someone else came into the lift and told us. Having lived and been in and out of New York as a traveller got eons I have a pretty good feel for the mid town hotels. My company recently added the W to our list and needed up here not out of choice but I am a very happy and loyal SPG member so no drama. This hotel is in a super busy tourist strip on Lexington and a few blocks up from GCT so its pretty handy for trippers. I had a very nice welcome upon check in, and a surprise upgrade-woohoo! Also, complimentary fruit was available in the afternoon, as well as coffee in the morning and ice water (flavored with lemons and mint). As a single woman, I appreciated the security measures in the elevator. My room was lovely--a very comfy king size bed, bathrobe, bath amenities from Bliss Spa, and a minibar. It was not noisy during my stay and I slept well. I had room service one morning and it was great--very genero... Read more

The W is beautiful! The rooms are modern and the bliss products are nice. This location is perfect. Great for walking around and easy access to public transportation. The restaurant was expensive and not impressive but that okay because there are many other options in NYC! The bar is fun with great drinks! I will always consider this hotel when visiting New York.

This hotel was in a central location. Valet parking was great when checking in, however it took a while to retrieve our car when checking out. It was quite a busy morning though, so I don't blame the employees. The lobby was quite loud at night time, but the noise could not be heard from our room. The room was a decent size, with a view of the busy street below. The Bliss products were a nice touch to the washroom.

Midtown location was perfect and easy to get around to see and experience what we needed. The hotel is modern, alive and has the energy of the city. Great lobby bar, well appointed room - although tiny, met our needs. Bed was comfortable, tight but functional bathroom but overall quiet and pleasing to arrive back to after walking 20,000 steps in the big apple. Would recommend if in the midtown area and looking for something hip and stylish.

Overall, it's a good hotel if at times it feels a little over priced for some of it (IE mini bar it's $10 for a coke) - I mean seriously. We choose the W Hotel for 2 reasons, first, we couldn't get into the Waldorf Astoria again and the second was because of its location. Now, with that being said we really, really enjoyed the W. This W location fits perfectly with my agenda when home. Easy access to everything, Central Park, Meat Packing district, theatre, trains uptown and downtown. All in a heartbeat away. With all the hype around the W brand, I guess I thought I'd be blown away by how cool and trendy the experience would be - but it was just like every other 4 star hotel in NYC. Everyone knows the W Hotel Brand stands for sleek, modern, trendy, fun, but the rooms at this location have really gone wrong.
