"Decent hotel, great location. Love the free parking. The garage is attached to the hotel very easy to park and enter hotel. Deli right next door. We had a room facing the street and it was pretty loud. Located right across from a Police precinct as well as a nighclub or bar. I could hear the music and the people outside. I would ask for an inner room next time. Would stay here again."

"A few small things: the beds could have been better/ softer; the center window had a broken latch (where the window opens 'in' for cleaning), so it let cold air and street noise in; there was no evidence of mice or other rodents, but we did see a mouse trap under the bed---it's a little off-putting; even when the heater was turned off, it still emitted heat and kept the room toasty. Not in to paying for wifi @ $6.00/day.
The hotel was clean, convenient and close to major attractions: Times Square, Theatre District; Staff and management were pleasant. We weren't in NY for fancy accomodations, we were there for sights, shows and adventure. It was excellent accomodations for the price, especially on 42nd Street in Manhattan. We would definitely stay again! Would be nice if they would just exterminate, rather than having mouse traps under the beds."

"For us, it was value and location. Although we came by train and did not take advantage of the free parking, we felt the hotel met our needs in all ways. At first there was a communication problem as I interpreted 'double' as meaning two beds and the desk clerk felt that the term meant meant two people in one bed. Regardless, a room change was immediately made- with no hassle. The hair dryer was broken and replaced with a new one in two days.

The location is close to the theater district as well as the Port Authority Bus Terminal and not that far from Penn Station (We are in our early seventies and we walked the 12-13 blocks okay- with our luggage). We prefer to rely on public transportation and the #42 crosstown bus stops right near the hotel as does the updown bus that goes directly to Lincoln Center. The Subway is two long blocks away.

As the rooms have a fridge and microwave, there is a nearby full service grocery. There is also a basic deli adjacent to the hotel and The nearby Theater Row Cafe serves good breakfasts.

Noise is hard to avoid in NYC and the hotel is located directly over two rail tracks; however, the noise was no big problem. In summary, we will again use this hotel for future trips to NYC and reccommend it to friends looking for value and location."

"Very good location near Times Square, Great value specially with free parking!!
The hotel is in good conditions and rooms are spacious and clean. Decorations are old looking but nothing that bothers.
I would definitely come back again in my next trip.

"Not a great stay in NY at the Travel Inn.

Room was ok until we saw a mouse running under the bed. We looked under beds to discover mouse traps everywhere. I wouldn't book a room with know live mice!!!!

Staff couldn't / wouldn't move us to another room until the next day.

Staff seems to be fine and friendly. It was the management that wasn't very helpful.

We left a day early because 'Super Storm Sandy' was rolling in and we didn't want to get stuck in NY. This was not the hotels fault obviously!

Would not stay at the Travel Inn again.

Some sort of credit would be nice and well diserved."

"We booked the Travel Inn pretty much at the last minute due to changes in our plans and based upon other reviews.

We were surprised at the 2 star rating and thought that this should be 3 star as a minimum.

There are a couple of minor gripes, the windows don't seems to keep the noise out and as there were road works directly outside the hotel late at night this was a bit of a problem.

I guess we could have asked to change rooms, but as we didn't we can't really criticise the staff.

Only one lift was working, but this didn't prove to be any real inconvenience.

After that, the staff were pleasant and helpful and the whilst some of the fixtures and fittings are a little dated, the hotel seemed very clean and well-maintained.

It's also in a great location, at least from our point of view.

It was nice to experience some of the locals in the adjacent deli which we assume is part of the hotel.

We didn't use the pool, but we wasn't there for the swimming!

All in all, we would recommend the hotel to others, including our closest friends.

"Just spent 2 days in NYC with girl friends on October 17th and 18th, 2012. Hotel was quiet and clean. Requested room 'away from noise and trains.' Was given room on 5th floor facing pool. Very quiet! Room was hot. Asked about air but was told the air was turned off (it was warm for the middle of October). Was shown how to open window. Perfect! Opened bottom window and the room became comfortable! Again- no noise, even with window opened all the way! Room was nice size. Only spent enough time there to sleep and shower. Bathroom small, but worked fine. Beds were very comfortable. Couple negatives: was not allowed to check in until 3:00 (we arrived at 1:30 and was told room was not ready- the hotel was not full). Staff is hard to understand and can be a little curt. The gentlemen at the Security room were very friendly and helpful. I would stay here again and would recommend it to family and friends!"

"Very pleased with hotel! Great location, price, and room. I was sooo scared from word of others the room would 'be the size of a closet'. But I was very impressed with its size (we had a double room). Also had a nice sized refridgerator for leftovers from all of NYC's fabulous restaurants! "The Staff were very good. There was only some slight problems with the elevators there while they are putting in new ones, so a few times we had to walk up the stairs and after a day of walking around New York, this can seem daunting.

"This is our 3rd stay at the Travel Inn and it gets better every time. The staff is friendly and the rooms have been upgraded with new tvs and other extras. "I booked the travel inn and i relaly enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The hotel was in the perfect location to times square. The hotel was clean and the staff were very plesant. The parking was great and i was allowed to take my car out numerous times with no problem, i always had a parking spot. everytime i visit NYC this will be the hotel of my choice."

"The room was beautiful, it was clean and appeared to be fairly new furnishings. The only problem was the heat, there was no way to regulate it. It was a Cold and rainy day and the room was really really hot, I had to open a window to try to cool it down to sleep."
