"Overall, we were slightly disappointed with our stay at the Marcel. On the positive side the staff was friendly and courteous. In addition, the hotel is clean and conveniently located near the subway and dining. Unfortunately, the hotel has a claustrophobic feel. The room was smaller than expected and the corridors very narrow. The hotel is good for a one night stay, but wouldn't want to stay for much longer."

"My husband & I recently stayed at The Marcel for 2 nights. The location is convenient to shopping & resturants but close to a hospital because all you hear is ambulances passing all night long. We were on the 3rd floor so street sounds were very loud as well as the nightclub music downstairs vibrating the floor until the very early hours of the morning. The rooms are extreamly small, about the same size as some of our rooms in Europe could barely turn around in the room. For what you get I would say this hotel is overpriced, will definately look for another place next time we go into the city."

"My husband and I recently stayed for 2 nights at The Marcel. The staff was accomodating and the room was very clean. The hotel itself is in a great location good for walking to allot of great shopping and resturants. However close to a hospital so very noisy ambulances going past all hours of the night. Our room was on the 3rd floor so you could hear the music from the nightclub downstairs until the early hours vibrated the floor of the room. The room was extreamly small, had a queen size bed but felt smaller than some of the places we have stayed in Europe. Overall for the value I would most likely book a room at another hotel just too small of a room for the price."

"I could write an essay on why this hotel is the best in the city.. but if I write something too long I know no one will read it. Impeccable service. Friendly, Efficient, and Knowledgeable staff. And just soo easy on the eyes. The design concept for this hotel is remarkable, very boutique-modern. You'll regret going anywhere else. I didn't even want to leave the room! Location is GREAT - 10-15 minute walk or a 5 minute taxi ride anywhere. Alcohol, shops, and restaurants all around. A rooftop lounge with complimentary beverages, and a club downstairs! If this company asked me to do free advertising for them in Toronto - I would."

"The hotel is beautiful and in a great location-three blocks from the 23rd St. subway stop. The staff was friendly, pleasant and very accommodating. Unfortunately, we had a problem with the heating/air unit in our room. We had to make four calls to the desk about it. The unit blew hot air when we needed cold, then blew nothing at all, then cold when we need hot, then flooded the room. We had to move to a different room our last night. The staff immediately responded to each call but the unit just needs to be replaced. They were apologetic but said since we had prepaid, they could not make a refund. They offered a free upgrade the next time we're in NYC."

"The staff at the Marcel is very friendly and helpful. No complaints. at all. The location is pretty good, although there is no nearby subway stop which can be problematic if you're going in different directions in a short timeframe which we were. The hotel facility is very clean and modern. The only downside is that the room we had was smaller than the smallest room in all of Europe. There was absolutely no room for a chair. If you opened a drawer, you couldn't walk in or out of the bathroom, and if you walk around the bed, there is no way not to hit the feet of the person who is in the bed. Tiny does not begin to describe how small the room we stayed in was. "

"Our stay was part of a package through Bookit.com, so I can't comment on value, but overall, we enjoyed our stay very much. Our room was very small, but it is NYC, space is always at a premium. Decor was decidedly funky. Lobby was slick, room was newly fitted with mod trappings and was well kept. Housekeeping were great. Front desk and door staff were courteous, friendly and cool. We liked the location a lot. Central and close to everything, but not in the thick of it. Didn't check out the attached nightclub or Inoteca restaurant but both seemed popular. Only gripe would be that wifi costs extra. Like 10 bucks or so. Not a big deal, but even Burger-King has free wifi.
Overall a great time. Thanks to all at the Marcel."
