It is always good to be back in The Manhattan At Times Square Hotel! The staff are very friendly and courteous and makes you feel welcome all the time. Mohammed and John are a delight to chat with during breakfast time. They are always ready with a smile and a helping hand! Thank you so much for making us feel like this is our home away from home! This hotel is in a great location and the lobby looks great, however, the hotel is old and outdated. I was in room 1128 the furniture was outdated, lighting outdated, bathroom dingy, bathroom door rusted, crack in ceiling, corking horrible job, counter tops out dated. The hallway was dim and while going to a family members room on the 20th floor I noticed the hallway had 2 different color schemes and was even dimmer. The carpet was awful. It was hard for me to pay $667.00 for two nights and... Read more

Checked in with lovely staff, got to the room and was beyond disappointed. The room was disgusting. Once mentioned, offered to move us to a new room the next day, which was a pain because we had to re pack in the morning, re check our bags, and then get settled into a new room the next night. Bellhop aggressively took us into our room and awkwardly stood there until he got more money.. which we never gave because we were offended by his behavior. Excellent location, easy to walk to everything. L... Read more

This is a useful Midtown Manhattan location but the hotel leaves somethings to be desired: we were upgraded to a deluxe room but its only chair was at the desk while there was plenty of room for a leisure chair in the room. They brought another desk chair when I requested twice. The room lacked some features one would expect such as note paper on the desk and glass glasses. The towels were small and thin. We needed attendance to both a running toilet and AC that wasn't working--staff came quite ... Read more

The hotel is just barley average. Three hallways are nicked up, wallpaper coming off and carpet needs to be stretched. Lots of bumps in the carpet. Hallways dimly lit too. The carpet appeared newer and nicer on the 5th floor where the fitness room was. Lobby and hotel entrance nice but room is in need of a lot of repairs. Air not that cold either. Room dusty and the front desk offered a very very small credit and to move is the following day due to being booked. The hotel does have a goo... Read more

Stayed here three nights as part of a bigger trip. Hotel lobby looks fine but that's where it ends. Once you get upstairs, the decor is really shabby, carpets very worn and we felt very uncomfortable walking the corridors with people loitering. Our room was uncomfortably small with nowhere to unpack our clothes. Bathroom had mould on the walls and smelled dank. In all it brought to mind the hotel where Tom Hanks stayed in Big. Mohammad checked me in as well as out - and he was so gracious and helpful - and has a beautiful smile. I felt like a valued guest - and for the fee, I was delighted to also have a valued fee level. The room was nice. It was clean and spacious enough for the two of us. The hotel employees were friendly. The gentlemen that ran the breakfast service (William and John) were helpful. They were able to give us some tips about were to go and what to see. Overall everything was great. I would have given an excellent but there were times when the line for the elevator was quite long. This was partly due to one elevator being down for several days.

Thank goodness I called 2 days later to confirm as the change was NEVER made and no confirming email sent. BE SURE TO REQUEST IN WRITING! My room was upgraded to a nicer floor - not all room lobbies are updated. To me it wasn't important but unexpected amenity. There is no restaurant or bar. Bfast is continental and for a fee. This hotel is in he perfect location. Just at Times Square. Renovations have started to update the hotel. They have done the penthouse and are working their way down the building. The room we had was a little run down but perfectly clean and acceptable. No restaurant but they do have a breakfast bar. Very expensive as you would expect in New York City.

The room safe didn't work. The hotel shower bar was only attached in 1 of 2 spots. Hand towel bar was broken. We set the hotel room a/c to 65. It got down to 74 after being there 2 days - even had hotel engineer look at it. Woke up early both mornings due to jackhammering outside. Bed was ok. Had a hot shower both days.

This review is really difficult to write, as I don't want to have my negative emotions have all to much of an influence... as this hotel experience very nearly ruined our New York Trip! This Hotel is by far one of the worst I have ever stayed in.... it took FIVE hours for us to get checked in... first the room wasn't ready, then (after two hours) we got a room which smelled like a public toilet... then (again after two hours) we got a room which was supposedly clean. The location of this hotel is great, a few minutes walk to Times Square and subway stations round the corner. We stayed on the executive 18th floor and the room was clean, fresh and of a high quality, the direct elevator is great as there seems to often be a queue for the other elevators. We took and look at some of the other floors and they weren't what I would have accepted from the looks of the corridors! We thought we were spending a bit extra to stay in a nicer hotel. I guess $350/night doesn't get you that in NYC. This may have been a nicer hotel 15-20 years ago, but not so much now. Nothing has been maintained or even cleaned since then. I won't even speculate about what some of the spuge on the walls of our room might have been. This was one of the best value hotels I have stayed in in Manhattan. The room and bathroom were clean, the bed and pillows were comfortable, and the staff was friendly and helpful. There is free WiFi, breakfast (1 each of pastry, fruit, drink), cable TV with Showtime, hair dryer, and coffee maker in the room. I stayed on the 20th floor. The room was quiet and comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel for the less than $300 price I payed thru Groupon.

Just on the edge of times square the hotel is in an excellent location near to 50st subway station. Reception was helpful and patient. The building had a slight early 90s vibe to it. Not pristine bit the rooms were good sized and full of facilities. If booking through a third party you will be charged 28 dollars a day service charge. New york is a very expensive place and money seems to be given out a lot for taxes on most things and tips. Definitely feel the affect of a low British pound.

The hotel was perfect, price v/s quality is excellent, big rooms, bathrooms an amenities, everything clean and care. I want to say that the people who works at the hotel is amazing, Jossie and Linda, from the front desk, ladies from the cleaning service and specially Mohammad, John and William, who gave us every morning a nice smile, and a great breakfast to-go. Thank you all, It was a very nice experience.

The staff is very nice and professional. However, the halls ways need cleaning or painting. The room was nice but the Air Conditioner was a nightmare. Great location within walking distance from Times Square. V handy for getting around. The interior in the hallways and our room showed a good bit of wear and tear (marks on the wall, peeling wallpaper) but overall the location makes up for anything like that

I have stayed at this hotel many times for work. This last one was unpleasant. Checking in was fine, although they did not have the King room I had requested. It was only 5:30, so that was disappointing. Worse, they put me on one of the floors that has not been refurbished. I knew it wouldn't be good when there was a chunk gouged out of the door (see the picture). The rook was warm, so I turned on the air, dropped my stuff and went to my meetings. When I got back, the room was still 76 deg... Read more

She engaged my daughter and kept her busy while she checked us in. I highly recommend this place and will be going back myself next tim I'm in the city.

We stayed here for 6 nights in a junior suite. The lobby in this place is small and nearly always overcrowded. One evening the line for the elevators was about 20 people long, and the wait times at the reception desk are long. Staying here was expensive, but for the large room we had and the location, I didn't mind. One evening we asked for some spoons and for some glasses, we were told the hotel did not have room service and therefore had no items of glassware or silverware (quite odd being in ... Read more

Our favorite employee was Mohammed Chowdhung in the lobby coffee bar. Super nice!!! This hotel does need some upgrading but was perfectly fine for us! Thanks everyone for a wonderful time! Patrice

Terrible hotel more like a cheap hostel . Given a room in 22 floor that is tiny, noisy, smelly and run down. The pictures on the website are of a floor they have renovated. When we complained we were told we could pay extra for better rooms. Any hotel in NY would be better!

We paid approx £2800 for two rooms on the executive floor for our four night stay in New York, and we found the whole experience to be not much more than average for the amount we paid - I understand that New York is an expensive place to stay, but some things were lacking. No room service available, and also no "proper" cups etc. Just paper cups that didn't fit under the coffee machine unless you held them at an angle. Toilet didn't flush properly, blocked most times it was used. Would of be... Read more

Stayed here for 5 nights. The best thing about the Manhatten at Times Square Hotel is the location and the staff. Easy to get to so many places from this location. All staff we came in to contact with were very pleasant. The rooms (and corridors) however, leave a lot to be desired. We stayed in a room on the 15th floor. All decor was very tired, dated and in fact shabby. The bed was clean as was the bathroom, which were the most important facts for us. We didn't have any problem with noise. Th... Read more

We chose this hotel because of the location and on how nice it looked on the website. The location is indeed convenient but the hotel itself should be closed and completely renovated. Room are dang and dirty. Bathroom had mold and dripping faucets. Towels had stains and were paper thin. Huge burn hole in the rug from the iron. We waited for an hour for our luggage only to have the wrong suitcases delivered to us. I then went down and brought up my own bags. Called management regarding the room a... Read more

It was quite pricey compared to most cities, but reasonable for NYC.The photos made this hotel look beautiful, and while the lobby area was nice, the rooms/hallways were very run down and dirty. There was dust everwhere (plug in power strip was covered in a coat of dust, but you had to use it because there were very few plug ins). The vent on the wall was falling off. The people that worked there were very friendly and helpful. I personally will pay a little extra for a nicer hotel next time.

For the location and the staff, I would stay here again. Yes there is an extra fee per night but when booking online for us that was mentioned so it was not a surprise. It is an older hotel and various floors do need renovating. After looking and comparing prices this came up as an offer. On booking realised too late additional taxes and daily charge so cost a lot more than the search advertised. Plus. Location Negative. Tired looking, poorly decorated, poorly renovated, heat/aircon not working. This could be such a good hotel but let itself down. Advice look elsewhere.

The reception area was nice but once past the lifts it was a different matter. The hotel was in the best location at Times Square. We found it ideal for a few nights as we were going onwards on a cruise. I wouldn't have liked go stay there longer as it was very busy and hotel had no facilities ie bar or eating place . There was a coffee and croissant bar for a short time in the morning but nowhere to sit as the few seats were always taken. Our room was a deluxe and it was ok but lesser rooms were a bit poor .

We recently stayed at the Manhattan and it was very dirty and outdated... it's deceiving because the lobby looks great but once you get in that elevator to go to the rooms, it's a completely different experience. Appalling rooms and bathrooms and corridor hallways I would never advise anyone to ever come to the manhattan hotel time square. Hotel is in a great location. That is the only Rea I rated them as high as I did. Beware.. many hidden costs and, although every photo you see of the hotel looks beautiful and updated, only one floor has been renovated and we were not on it. Would not suggest this hotel. They advertise renovated rooms. They've only done one floor. We stayed in one of the worst rooms we've ever stayed in. The carpets were dirty and ripped. They also charge extra for things even if you don't use. They charged $25.00 for internet and water. We didn't need the internet or water, yet still had to pay for it. For a Hotel in New York City, Manhattan at Times Square Hotel certainly needs much more improvement. Hotel condition seriously needs proper maintenance or even an overhaul. Especially the beds.
