Lovely welcome with Birthday gift has my wife an I were celebrating her 50th Birthday. Breakfast was average and plenty of opportunity to have hot drinks during the day. (Cold weather during February -15) Room was ice, clean with all the required necessities available. Staff taking luggage on the main doors and on information booking desk were friendly and helpful. However my wife's Amarni watch and silver earrings kept in a small pink box were taken from our room prior to us leaving or after we... Read more

The negatives about this hotel have been well aired here. 3 elevators for a hotel of 32 floors can cause big delays in getting to and from your room - there are TVs on each floor to try to distract waiting guests. Also, it is situated opposite the ugly Port Authority building - there is evidence of social deprivation around, which may make some people uncomfortable. However, these negative points are outweighed by some big positives. The area feels perfectly safe and, the hotel being near near ... Read more

Breakfast is good with a range cereal, toast, fruit, yogurts and a hot buffet which is alternated daily. Complimentary drinks and snacks Monday - Friday are fab, great way to start your evening.

Our travel agent suggested this hotel as we are staying in New York for 10 nights and we asked for a facility that allows us to cook for ourselves should we want to. The hotel is situated a block from the middle of Times Square. The location couldn't be better. Reception was very efficient and friendly and helpful. We had lots of questions which were all happily answered. The workings of the subway were explained which made getting around a snack. There seems to be a social happening every aft... Read more

We stayed here for 3 nites and were impressed with the room, and the breakfast and happy hour, and staff. We were not expecting much from the happy hour but the food was excellent. So was breakfast. We went to these events each morn and nite. The staff and also excellent. They were friendly and out going. The young AA man in the lobby as Concierge, said he was new to his job but he was terrific. He gave good recommendations on ways to see NYC.

We spent a lot time researching hotels and reviews before we selected Staybridge Suites for our recent family trip to Manhattan. Visitor ratings were in the mid to high 4's and the fact the hotel offered free breakfast and an evening social hour and a small kitchenette were all pluses in our selection to book two rooms for our visit and wish to be within walking distance of Times Square. Upon arrival we asked for a room higher up as this was the first trip to NY for our granddaughter. The fro... Read more

We have just return from a 6 day visit to New York and stayed at the Staybridge Suites. We couldn't fault the staff who were extremely helpful and very friendly. The room on the 19th floor was clean and spacious, liked the idea of a fridge and facilities to bring your own food into the room to be prepared and eaten. We had a lovely breakfast each morning although at peak times very busy. A stones throw from Times Square a bus station & subway terminal just at the bottom of the road very useful.

Stayed here last month for a week for our vacation. Location is conveniently located next to port authority bus terminal, and about 10-15min walk to Times Square. Room is pretty average and I find its too overpriced. For the price of SGD400/night I think it's totally not worth it. The elevators were a little slow. The included breakfast was very good and 4 days throughout the week there is a happy hour fro 5 to 7 PM where you are offered free wine or beer as well as appetisers to eat. Staff were very helpful and friendly, the concierge was especially helpful. Worth giving this place a look.

We decided to stay here again based on a great experience a few years ago - not sure what the difference was - but this time, the flaws were apparant. The hotel was full, so I am sure the staff was stretched to accommodate everyone. We stayed in a nice room on one of the upper floors - where it became obvious that there is an issue with only 3 small elevators for a hotel that holds so many guests. Many of the guests stay here for the free breakfasts that come with the room and the Happy or So... Read more

Stayed here for 3 nights in 2010. At the time, the place was under construction - staff informed me that it was just built! All of the construction was indeed an eyesore, particularly since NONE OF THIS WAS MENTIONED ON THE WEBSITE WHEN I BOOKED THE ROOM. The other thing was that there were only 2 elevators. This was very insufficient particularly since there were lots of guests. Had to wait 15 mins to get the elevator at one stage. Then the wi-fi failed in my room and I was without internet f... II stayed at the end of Oct 2016 for a couple of nights. The hotel was clean and comfortable but what stood out was the staff. At check in, Chris and Fresenice were very pleasant and went out of their way to make sure that we had everything we needed. However, the standout was Marylee, a manager. Marylee was so pleasant on the phone when I called before my trip that I made sure I sought her out to thank her. We accidently left a very important bag at the hotel and once again, Marylee saved ... Read more

Me, my wife and our 15 year old daughter were a little sceptical about staying at the Staybridge as we had read many negative comments about the street on which the hotel was located, the crowded breakfast rooms, the infrequent lifts, the noise from outside, etc....well not for us, We didn't experience any of that. We arrived late and were greeted by a beaming receptionist who couldn't have been more helpful. We were directed to room 1104 and although it faced the PABT, the room itself was clean... Read more

My friend and I stayed here for a week on a recent girls trip to NYC, and we were both very impressed and thankful that we picked a great hotel. The room was clean and well appointed, everything was fresh and smelled nice and the beds were very comfy. The bathroom was lovely, great water pressure in the shower and we never ran out of hot water. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and always helpful. The location was probably my favourite thing about this place though, it is so central to ever... Read more

Right in the heart of manhattan, 5 minute walk from times square. Also there is a subway station and a taxi rank just up the street. Staff was amazing, always welcoming and happy to help, the happy hour from 5-7 was fantastic and helped to save a lot of money since drinks can be expensive in the city. Breakfast was great, many said it was very busy but if you go down to the bottom floor to the confrence room, it's pretty quiet. Lifts can be a hastle especially around 8am, we were on the top fl... My boyfriend and I have just returned from a trip to NYC, where we stayed at Staybridge Suites and our hotel experience was certainly a game of two halves . On the plus side, the location of Staybridge Suites is great. At the end of the street there is both a Subway station and a great bar - Beer Authority' as well as Restaurant Row (as the name suggests, a street lined with many restaurants). Most importantly, this hotel is walking distance to Times Square and Broadway, Fifth Ave and Central... Read more

This is an excellent hotel for families staying in New York. The staff are very welcoming and the rooms are very spacious by New York standards. There is also a complimentary evening buffet during the week as well as a great breakfast. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling with children.

The staff were so helpful in every way, reception were very friendly and happy to help with any queries, the concierge helped with directions and travel arrangements, the staff at breakfast were so good one of them cooking turkey bacon for my friends daughter who asked when it would be available again and the cleaners were so thorough, with the rooms and bed... I spent my birthday in the "Big Apple" with my sister. I chose Staybridge Suites Time Square for it's location, breakfast and room size. I was not disappointed. We arrived early (before noon) and only waited about 20 minutes to get a room. I had expected to not get in before 4pm, but Melissa at the front desk and Matt the bellboy, were very helpful at taking care of us. I guess we looked a bit weathered after dragging our luggage through the streets of NYC in the rain. We were on the 21st f... Read more

This was my 2nd time at this hotel and would come back again! there is a free breakfast served in 3 locations, the C floor is better it's not as crowded! The rooms are very good, and housekeeping was wonderful. The hotel is in a great location, it's not in the main area of Times Square but you are close enough to everything and there is a subway stop just up the street! Higher floors are better so you can't hear all the noise from the streets! ???

We stayed one week with family at Staybridge in end of October - beginning of Nov. Very good location if taking trains/buses from Port Authority or Penn Station ( one subway station). Walking distance to Bryant Park, Times Square etc. Nice Rooms, but nothing special. What we especially liked was that breakfast was included and even light "dinners" on weekdays with beer and wine. For a family with children we thought it was good value and liked having express subway station close, easy access do... Read more

Hotel is reasonably priced and well placed on Manhattan island. You can walk to both Central Park and to battery park although the latter is a long walk. Having said that there is a subway and bus terminal at the end of the street. Its very close to Times Square but without as much noise. Breakfast and free wifi are included, which gives even more value for money. Staff are extremely helpful and polite

Needed to be close to the city for an early morning flight and this hotel was the perfect fit. I was impressed by friendly check in and the room was perfectly clean. Housekeeping should get an A+. The only downside is I booked a king room and got a double. Other than that not one negative thing to say.

We had a King room with a kitchenette. The room was well equipped and very comfortable. The size of the room is quite large for the price in the heart of New York City. The hotel is situated next door to the port authority which made getting around the city easy as the subway is just around the corner. As other reviewers have said the hotel is right in the middle of it all so you can walk to most attractions easily. It's a safe area to walk at night and the shows are all within walking distance.... This continues to be my go-to hotel location in mid-town. Some people question the location, as it is across from the Port Authority Bus Terminal. But that not a problem. It is relatively quiet. 9th Avenue on the corner offers an alternative to a crowded Times Square if you're walking north, it is close to all subway lines, and is an overall great spot to be. We've stayed at Staybridge the last few years on our annual girls' weekend to New York. Once again this year, it did not disappoint. It's a very nice, clean hotel with a great staff. The only complaint I have is that the shower in the bathroom is tiny. I'm an average size woman and barely have enough room to shower. Other than that, it's really great.
