"This hotel is worn out, not well maintained, and dirty. I was uncomfortable walking in bare feet on the carpet, and the bathroom had bugs crawling over the walls every time I went in there. It smelled and the rooms were beat up.nnIt's inexpensive for NYC, which is really the only thing going for it. Actually -- location is pretty good as well -- just a block from a major subway stop and in a nice area of the city. But I won't be returning."

"We stay for 4 nights.
Good things: place near subway in a good area, convenient to go to everywhere. Room was clean.
All other was not good: for $150 reservation we expected room with private bath Toilet paper was absent, shampoo is not in the service list, elevator is small and slow, furniture is bad and not nice to use it, etc.
Waist of money to stay.

"I booked a last minute trip to NYC to visit my cousin who is looking to move there. Having stayed at this property in the past, and had a good experience, I checked for availability. When we first checked in there was a bit of a wait a check-in but the front desk agent answered all of the guests questions. The check-in process was quick and the front desk agent was friendly. Being an event planner I checked for bars to go to in the area. I asked the front desk if these were good places and he agreed (George Keeley's or the Dead Poet). Our room was on the 5th floor and next to the main door near the elevator. We didn't really like the location of room (close to the elevator and too far away from the bathroom). We asked the front desk if we could be moved to a different room farther away from the elevator. He kindly showed us a room on the 6th floor which was better. One side of the wall was painted and had a picture of a flower on it and the other side had a mirror. This room would do just fine for the 2 night stay. The bathroom was down the hall from our room. We never had to wait to use the bathroom and it was clean. The walls are soundproof so you don't have to worry about being too loud and your neighbors hearing you. On my reservation, I requested extra pillows and blankets, which was brought to our room once we were settled in. We asked the front desk agent where the closest liquor store was and he kindly gave us directions. Once we got there we realized we would need a bucket to put ice in. We called the hotel and he said he would see what he could find. We got back to the hotel and there was a bucket waiting for us! I would recommend this place on just the service we received from the front desk; he made us feel right at home. This place is good for last minute trips for short stays."

"I was looking for a cheap room to stay in so that I could use my saved money to enjoy the city, I definitley got what I paid for! CHEAP! Aside from the wifi only working on the first floor and the 'shared' bathroom, which is just one toilet/bath at the end of the hall that everyone shares, it was the management that was truly terrible. The other staff members were actually very friendly and when I called to change hotels and I was able to stay a much nicer hotel, more expensive but it made such a difference to go to a welcoming, clean, larger room with my own bathroom! I would not recommend anyone to stay here, even on a budget, the price is just not worth it."

"When I entered the hotel I was immediately told that my room had 'collapsed' and need to change to an other partner hotel, 3 blocks away. Finally the hotel was 5 blocks away and they promised to pay the taxi for me.

The hotel Marrakech, 2688 Broadway was otherwise ok, but I woke up twice during the night because of a mouse making noise in my room.
I complained about that next morning at the reception and they promised to contact the Royal Park hotel in order to arrange compensation to me. I doubt if it really happens! What will you do, I booked the room from you?
