After reading some other reviews my expectations were not super high, but I was also getting an excellent rate for a NYC hotel through travelocity because I booked a flight with them. I've had several NYC hotel experiences where I paid upwards to $400 and more only to be sorely disappointed in some aspect of my stay including those tiny NYC rooms everyone mentions and worse. The Lexington is an excellent hotel for the money. The room I had was quite spacious and clean, it was quiet (26th Fl)ever... Read more

We had a very nice stay at The Lexington. The location was fantastic, and its proximity to Grand Central made it very easy to get onto a train and subway. The room was nice with a very comfortable bed. We slept well and were not woken by traffic at all. My boyfriend had some work he needed to get done before our vacation, and he was easily able to work from the lobby for a few hours. Overall, we only stayed one night, and I wish we could have stayed longer!

The hotel was great! The hotel staff were great and were able to recommend nice places to eat. The rooms were small but that's to be expected in NYC. The location was great too! Definitely try Ashleys which is across the street. They have everything in there from fruit to candy to ribs!

Check in experience was fine, downhill from there. I don't think they could have found a smaller room in the building, in a far far corner. So much for being a "gold elite" member! The internet connection was not working well, call operator for more than 15 minutes no answer. Call guest services, no answer. Have to go back down to reception, person claims no one has called. Landed back on UK soil his morning.. After reading a few negative but also positive reviews we went with an open mind..... This was a birthday trip for my wife's 40th so I sent a short email to the hotel a couple of months before our travel date to request "if possible" a room with a view. So nothing too extravagant in my email. I used hotel tonight for a last minute booking during my NYFW visit. The hotel is part of the Marriott brand. The lobby is art deco inspired. The decorations are very artistic - lots of black and white. I travel to NYC frequently but have hesitated to book this hotel because reviewers mentioned small rooms, no free breakfast, etc. I'm so glad I decided to finally give it a try, and I'm so glad to be liberated from the experience of those generic, plain vanilla hotels where I used to stay. The room is so well designed, and the hotel is so beautiful, paying homage to history (with jazz music playing 24/7 in the lobby). The Lexington Marriott is but a hop skip and a jump away from the Rockefeller Plaza and Times Square, making it a suitable alternative to the Marriott Marquis. The room we were checked in to (single queen) was small and the window had an excellent view of the side of the building. Stayed here for a week on business. Room was probably the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in. Bathroom was barely large enough to stay in. Front desk check-in woman was not very friendly and welcoming. Took 3 days and a note left to housekeeping to restock shampoo and soap. Breakfast in the morning was seriously lacking in terms of food (not many choices beside coffee, oatmeal, 2 kinds of cereal and fruit) and in tables at which to sit. Will not be staying here again

Stayed 3 nights at this hotel. The room was disappointing, in that it lacked many of the usual amenities such as a mini-fridge, coffee maker, or even a chest of drawers. The bathroom was particularly cramped. On the other hand, it is a charming old hotel, and the price was right (just over $150/night seems awfully good for Manhattan). The staff was helpful. Surprised (but forewarn by reviews) that I had to pay simply to check baggage for a while.

The location is great for business. It was a quick 10 min walk to Times Square if you want to get some sight-seeing squeezed into your trip. Very limited breakfast options, but if you are a Marriott Elite they have a very small breakfast layout in the morning consisting of fruit, oatmeal and bagels.

The location of The Lexington is wonderful. It is close enough to walk to Grand Central Station, St. Patrick's Cathedral, 5th Avenue and many more must-see places. The restaurant on the lobby floor is very good and convenient. The only thing I was not happy about is the fact they put a hold of $100 per day on my credit card. It was credited back; however, if you have a low limit on your credit card, it could make your trip a disaster.

I try to stay at the Lexington whenever I visit the city. I always have a great experience there! This time I stayed there with some old college friends that are scattered around the country. We decided on a little reunion in NYC and I suggested we stay at the Lexington because of its proximity to Grand Central Station. My friends were very impressed with the hotel. We arrived at around noon and were able to check in immediately. Given that check in isn't usually until 3 pm, I was pleasantly sur... Read more

PROS: -Good location (close to Grand Central Terminal) -Easy access from LGA via shuttles or buses -Nice lobby which has an onsite bar -Check in process was easy and efficient -Hotel common areas and rooms are nicely decorated and furnished providing sophisticated but relaxing feeling -Rooms are clean and provide sufficient space (Most rooms in NYC are on the small side) CONS: -No pool -Elevators are slow Dur... Recently stayed here for 8 nights as a family of four for our first visit to the US. The hotel is very well located with Grand Central Terminal and other subway stations along Lexington Ave close by and a 10 minute walk to Times Square, Rockefeller Centre and Central Park. The hotel rooms are compact, but functional although frosted glass bathroom doors, also used in some European countries are a questionable and probably the only drawback. There is still privacy but the main negative of this... Read more

Nice centrally eclectic hotel in NYC. Staff was helpful and knowledgeable. The hotel works hard at making you feel comfortable or engaged. My room was large, clean and everything worked well. The bar area is very intimate and comfortable. I do think they should offer a small bar dining menu as the attached Starbucks is not my first choice. Nice stay and would stay here again.

We have stayed here many times, most recently this past weekend. I have been solo with our tween son, with my husband and this weekend all three of us. Older hotel has done swell job with smaller rooms. No micro/coffee/fridge, but good water pressure, bedding... good business center, some elegance to lobby... felt pampered enough. This was my first stay in Manhattan and my wife and I found this hotel very convenient to all of Manhattan. We found the hotel bar relaxing on our way out, and for winding down after a night on the town. The staff was nice but overwhelmed at times with the volume of people coming in and out at times. The rooms were small by comparison to most you find in the US, but well appointed. If we come back to NYC again we will stay at the Lexington again.

Very nice, well furnished lobby (with free coffee and water for guests), very friendly and helpful reception and concierge staff. The room was very small but clean, comfortable and well equipped. Ideal for an overnight stay. Shared shuttle to JFK airport saved us money on the cost of a cab ( $42 for 2 people instead of approx $90) - thanks to staff for suggesting that to us! Very expensive to drink in the hotel bar ($28 for 1 beer and 1 small glass of wine)

It's a Marriott so it has a good level of decor and service but man is it expensive and the rooms are tiny on floor 7 plus no ice machine on this floor and housekeeping are very impatient on check out day and let you know that they want you out.
