The air-conditioning does not go below 75 degrees. This is bad for those wanting to stay during the summer months. The bathrooms looked like they had not been thoroughly cleaned in a while. I changed rooms 3 times after check-in due to major room issues that included smoke and high room temperatures (84).

Always staying at the PL when in NY... Simple reason: the staff is always helpful and welcoming and really tried to make the best for the PL guests... Still at the hotel for a few more days, just wished to thank Ms. Edita Gutic (at the reception desk) for her special assistance... Coming in from a 21h trip early morning, she made a point to call me on my phone to let me know that our room was ready by 9am (instead of the usual 3pm check-in). While I could not get my usual park view room, we got... Read more

Excellent room rates, perfect location for visiting the Met, MOMA and other boutique museums. It had a beautiful view of Central Park and is located close to Bergdorf Goodman's. The only drawback was the lack of coffee makers in the room. On the other hand they offered a happy hour with wine, beer, pizza, cheese, crackers and cookies.

Stayed here for 1 week Positives: * location * room size Negatives * says free wifi but there is a catch - you get wifi a happy hour from 5-7pm daily and unlimited calls for Usd30 a day extra on top of your room rate and you have no choice to not accept it .The happy hour is congested into a rather small room for a hotel that has 44 floors of poor quality wines and food * Central Park view can also mean looking at tall trees * apart from a bed and bathroom there are no coffee making facilities... Hotel is old and run down. Stingy on toiletries, had to ask for shower gel. Phone next to bed didn't work, lamps old and worn out. Plugs are stripped so anything you plug in flies out. Breakfast buffet poor selection. Bar old, dark and boaring. Loud even on 30th floor no double glazing. Stay clear of housekeeping laundry service! This hotel is in a good location but that's about all. In need of some MAJOR tlc!!!!!

The Hotel is a great hotel because of the location on Central Park South. I always request a room on a high floor to take advantage of the amazing view. The Hotel has big picture windows with side windows that open for fresh air. When I visit NYC I always stay several days and the staff is always friendly and helpful. I've been staying here for many, many years and it always feels like coming home. The only thing I would say is that tt could use a little remodeling in the lobby. I will cont... Read more

A good hotel, friendly staff, decent room with an excellent view. It's a shame about the hotel's mandatory $30 per day facilities fee that made us feel ripped off. They even charge you tax on it! It's a shame as an otherwise 4 or 5 star experience becomes a 2 star review.

Be careful about that You're paying extra £30 every day even if you don't use their service like gym. They provide some food in the evening. But half the time you don't get place to sit cuz of smaller seating area. As a result you barely use the service

Reserved a large suite with separate living room for several all day business meetings. Room was a good size but beyond that, it was a bit dusty and the bathroom was not very clean. Also had to ask for basic amenities like soap and shampoo. No mini-bar and limited room service. I am a 26 year Manhattan resident who needed the space as apartment was under renovation. Everything v mediocre and left to go to Hilton for a much cheaper rate and about the same level of mediocre service.

Our first trip to New York for my wife's significant birthday got off to a great start with us booking into the Park Lane Hotel. We had a Junior Suite on the 22nd floor with spectacular views over Central Park. The location of the hotel is perfect for those wishing to explore the Park, 5th Avenue or Broad Way as all are a few minutes walk away. The staff were very friendly and helpful. You get what you pay for, and we were not disappointed.

This was our fourth stay at the Park Lane, over 20 years. The decor was not modern then and it is not modern now. But it is well maintained, the view and the location are the best, the room is large by NYC standards, the staff and service were fine, and the price was the true definition of value for money. The "resort fee" adds to the daily rate, but it avoids all the nuisance of extra payments. For anyone wanting more than a cheap room, but not yet ready for $500 a night, go to the Park Lane.

Pleasant enough stay, in a nice location. As other reviewers have noted, the hotel is showing its age somewhat, and in need of sprucing up. Breakfast was pleasant, with immediate access (no queuing) each day for an entire week. Probably worth paying the extra for a park side view, since the alternative is a rather claustrophobic view of a nearby office building.

We loved staying so close to Central Park. This is one of the more affordable choices in that area, and the room did reflect the lower price point in its furnishings. However, the room was very clean, and housekeeping was on point. We enjoyed the convenient access to the subway, and the daily cocktail time where we could replenish our water supply. There is a $30 daily amenities fee, which includes the cocktail hour, wifi for up to 6 devices, and 24 hour gym. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

It's perfect for families, and there are so many cafes nearby (Sarabeth's is literally next door!), so don't get the breakfast package. This is a rather average hotel that may or may not serve your purposes. The location at the south end of Central Park is probably the best thing going for it. A perfect location for a trip to New York, across the road from Central Park and next to Fifth Avenue and willing distance from Times Square. A lovely traditional hotel that's been well maintained. Pricey, but nice.

Excellent location and view on central park! I particularly enjoyed the breakfast time, the room has an amazing view on central park, choice of food is large and staff is welcoming! The interior of the hotel may look old but i find it charming and welcoming.

I have been to NYC 10 times now and this was my first stay here. I booked through my credit card rewards and got a great price and opted to upgrade to a junior suite with a view of Central Park. I am so glad I did! The views are incredible and because you face the park, there's far less light pollution and noise in your room at night than if you stay in the city. The rooms are VERY spacious for NY standards and while the main room is nice, the bathrooms need A LOT of work. It was the only drawb... Read more

We stayed 3 nights in this hotel. Don't be fooled by the appearance of the lobby and 2nd floor. It is very dirty. We stayed on the 23rd floor. The bathroom didn't have a fan so it was really steamy and musty. There is a thick layer of dust and various gum wrappers under the battered furniture. They didn't even clean the room one day. During our stay, it rained and it was extremely hot. After walking around the city for 8 hours, you can imagine that we were looking forward to a shower and a clean... Read more

We stayed here for business and pleasure! The rooms need updating as well as need attention to functional issues! Our bathtub wouldn't drain properly and would fill up while taking a shower! I called the front desk as well as personally told them face to face...a total of four times! No one ever came to our room to check it and it never got repaired! Our housekeeper didn't leave us any washcloths and I had to call the front desk twice and went down and asked face to face for some before we ever ... Read more

The location of this hotel is fantastic - right across the street from Central Park and close to pretty much everything else! Our room on the 35th floor was small but charming and the housekeeping staff kept it really clean. They only provide room service for breakfast but personally I wouldn't bother with it. It's expensive and unremarkable. The hotel does provide a reception for hotel guests between 5pm and 7pm where there are free food and drinks. This was definitely a nice bonus. We stopped ... They let me have late check out. Service was really amazing. I wish if they had coffee and refrigerator in the rooms like we have in other hotels. Overall amazing experience. Nice city view. I had a lot of fun here.

After days of searching for a hotel we finally just booked here after looking at decent reviews. Reception was so kind and check in and out was a breeze. The staff was very kind accept for the person outside who took our car, he was pretty rude to us after not understanding what he was saying. The person helping with bags at check in and check out were both so kind. We were placed in the Manhattan side and it eliminated a lot of noise, still some noise from construction around the area but that ... Read more

Great experience in New York helped by my stay in the Park Lane Hotel Great location and very friendly helpful staff Will be back here again. Could not fault anything in or around the hotel. Location overlooking Central Park is perfect with everything so close to the hotel. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is thinking of travelling to New York.

I proposed to my Fianc├ę in one of the rooms overlooking central park. Edita and Celeny from the Front desk helped me make this the perfect proposal by helping me arrange the perfect room on the 29th floor with the best view of central park and a table for two and provided us with flowers and all the accessories that I needed. Needless to say , we had a great night and a perfect engagement!

This hotel has an excellent location on the south end of Central Park. So convenient and in walking distance to museums, Broadway, Rockefeller Center, subway lines, etc. Most staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, our hotel room was very disappointing for the amount of money that we paid to stay. It was outdated and the upkeep was just awful! The sheets and towels were clean, thank goodness, but one of our double beds had a sag. Both mattresses were marginal in comfort. Not at all luxur... Read more

I had paid extra for a premier park view room and they gave me the 10th floor. Upon entering the room it smelled horribly of weed. The view was just the middle of the trees right off the road. I called the front desk and wanted to checkout and go to a different hotel but they offered to upgrade my room free of charge. We moved to the 14th floor where the room didn't smell like a hippie convention. The view was better, we could actually see the park. The rooms are not impressive for the price you... Read more

The main plus point about this hotel is its location. its situated exactly acrros from the central park. I traveled with my wife and kids and we walked 70% of the time to the shops and famous brands around us. The hotel in general is dated and needs an uplift. our rooms were spacious, one looking ar the park (great view) and the other (city view) , actuality the back of other buildings. I juggest to take higher floors (20 and above) to enjoy the view. in the down side no room service is availabl... Read more

Our family of 2 adults and 2 teens stayed in a double park view room for 2 nights. We got an excellent deal on tripadvisor. Although I had booked a premier park view, which was supposed to be above the 29th floor, we checked into room 2403 on the 24th floor. When I questioned reception about it at check in I was told I could have comp breakfast for the 4 of us. I was happy with that. We pulled up at the 58th St entrance and could drop our car very easily. Parking was $58 a night. We checked in ... Read more

My experience at the Park Lane was excellent. Everything was top notch, from the room and its view of Central Park, the manager's reception in the afternoon, the staff, all. And, it doesn't hurt that Sara Beth's is right next door! I will definitely return with my husband for a relaxing time at this wonderful hotel.

We booked a premium view room and that it was! We did have a problem when we checked in as our room was cancelled (as per the hotel clerk) so we asked to speak to the manager and he immediately found our reservation but the premium rooms were not available, so he put us in a regular room and promised to discount our price and move us the next day. We returned to the hotel the next night to find we were moved to the 38th floor, a premium room with a fantastic view of Central Park. This hotel i... Read more

A beautiful hotel in the heart of NYC across from Central Park. Central and close enough to walk to many areas. The hotel itself is first class. Room was very nice with comfortable beds and great water pressure in the shower. The late afternoon cocktails and snacks were a nice bonus. The staff was quite friendly and helpful.

Great location and good service. Hotel bathroom needs some upkeep. The rooms are small for a family of 4. We requested for a kettle which was not available with the Hotel. After a lot of follow up we were provided a flask with hot water. As the room was small the hotel provided us a roller bed free of charge. The room rate directly available with the Hotel was much better than bookings.com.

Third time here and we will be back again. This says it all really. Our room on the 37th floor had a great view of Central Park. Staff were friendly and helpful as always. Room was spotless although no coffee making facilities which was a pity. Minor point I know but my wife likes her coffee first thing in the morning.

Nice Hotel Nice place but disappointed by the fact that our tickets for the Cirque du soleil and the Yankees were stolen. Weird for a nice hotel we had a discount on the tax to allow us to buy new tickets but did not receive any compensation as agreed by the management for the waste of time and for the troubles affecting our peace of mind.

This is a good value hotel for a family looking to be located in central Manhattan. We took two nights at the hotel in July '16, attracted by the fact that it is a mere stones throw away from Central Park, and the close at hand attractions of mid town. The subway at Columbus Circle is just up the street. The staff were pleasant and welcoming and full of local knowledge, and our family of four children and two adults was comfortably accommodated in large interconnecting rooms with a decent view o...
