Lovely hotel top of the Hyatt line. Park view suite was very spacious & comfortable. The location is perfect for getting around Manhattan. The staff are all very friendly, efficient and helpful. They go out of their way to make sure your needs are met. One morning in the dining room we inquired about the teas that are served - the waiter took the time to explain about the vendor the hotel uses for the special teas & then went out of his way to obtain 2 bottles of iced tea to take with us. ... I've given hotels 5 star ratings before, but this one truly embodies what a 5 star hotel should be. This hotel embodies perfection. Everything from the room, to the staff, to the pool are what all hotels should strive to be like. Entering the hotel I was a little surprised by the inconvenience of having to take 2 floors to reach our room- 1 to get to the check in desk, and another card enabled elevator to reach the guest rooms. A minor detail though. The staff is very professional and accommod... Read more

We were debating between staying in a lot of great hotels in the city, including our personal favorite Mandarin Oriental. We finally decided to stay in the Park Hyatt because of its amazing location and being a brand new hotel. The hotel proved to be one of the best city hotels in the United States, comparable to any top tier hotel in any big city and definitely the best in New York right now. The location is wonderful because it is just next to central park. Overall, the experience is good. I will definitely choose Park Hyatt NY again if travel to New York. However, there is a cockroach in the towel. And the 1st floor clerk keeps asking if i wanna check in when i return to hotel. I checked in when I first arrived in Park Hyatt NY. A little bit annoying. Besides the above two things, the overall experience is good.

Ready to splurge? The Park Hyatt overlooking Central Park is amazing: HUGE rooms, I could probably live in the bathroom: it was magnificent, every amenity possible of top quality, with superior customer service. The only hotel that I have stayed in that compares is the Sofitel in London by the West End. The restaurant had an excellent prix fixe dinner with a very good wine selection. This is a definite, really special splurge. Superb.

It was truly special to stay in this modern luxurious hotel with impeccable service. The staff, as well as the surroundings, are not the least bit pretentious. It's wonderfully located across from Carnegie Hall, close to everything but not in the middle of crowds. We had a lovely 4 night stay at the PH in the middle of July during the heat wave. Last year we stayed at the Four Seasons down the block and were very disappointed. PH is much better; perhaps because it's newer, I don't know, but they're almost incomparable. Although the rooms are much smaller than the FS, the appointments are first rate. The shower was perhaps the best shower I've ever had in a hotel, actually maybe anywhere. We were showering at least 2x a day as well bc of the heat. Al... Read more

As a regular at Hyatt hotels I know they are always beautiful. This place is stunning the pool area is lovely the rooms are amazing. But the only issues we had with the hotel was with the service. Moved over from the Plaza and happy we did. The rooms are large and very modern. Huge bathroom with separate tub and shower. In fact the rooms are very similar to the newer top end Hyatt properties in Asia and that is about as high a compliment as I can give. The pool is fantastic. Very convenient to the Subway, Central Park, Times Square, etc. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. We truly enjoyed our stay. Will definitely return next time to NYC.

There's nothing you could legitimately criticize with regard to the service or the modern, muted appointments at a Park Hyatt property. What sets this property apart, though, is the layout and size of the room - cavernous by NYC standards! My room had a dedicated entry and hallway that led past a large closet into a very spacious bedroom that overlooked the gorgeous green rooftop at Carnegie Hall across the street (who knew they had a garden up there?). The bathroom (also huge) had two sinks ... Read more

So lovely and so decadent. From the location, to the le labo ameneties, I knew I was in heaven immediately. Everything and everyone were so attentive and delightful. It was a breeze to arrive and depart and they took care of any and everything. I don't get back east as often as I might like, however, the new PH would entice me to.

I am a PH fan but all of us know that PH's service always does not match their price and class of luxury. Stayed in some PHs in different cities but the NY one most disappointed me. Room view is the worst even I asked for a higher floor room. I am a Gold Passport member, what I got is a room facing the roof of the adjacent building right out of the window. Tonight I am staying in Room 1015. Well, I don't bother asking for another one. Room is not that clean. We can find dust in the glass on t... Read more

We have stayed at the Peninsula, Four Seasons, etc. in Midtown. We decided to give the Park Hyatt a chance this time. The location is ok, but not close enough to Central Park to actually have a view. The hotel is so dark, maybe to hide dirt? The hotel seems like they are borrowing the space for now. Check in is at a small podium in the lobby. After 1 set of elevators there are several turns to get to the actual rooms. Very confusing. The Food was bad and it was inconvenient that they don't have... Read more

I recently stayed at the Park Hyatt NYC to celebrate my birthday and must say that the service was flawless from the moment I walked in to check-in to departure. Upon entering the hotel, one of the hosts immediately walked over to greet me, handed me a bottle of water and brought me up to the lobby level to check-in. On the way over, she showed me around the lounge and truly made the effort to ensure all my needs were met. During check-in, I was upgraded from a king to deluxe king room on the 17... Read more

This hotel is very centrally located at the bottom of Central Park. Absolutely stunning interior -especially the pool! The service was top notch and the bed was very comfortable - we had an amazing time! Definitely recommend this place. Only downside, we paid via rewards points so I'm not sure I would pay $1000 a night if I had to pay in cash.

We stayed @ this wonderful hotel for 4 nights in November and enjoyed it immensely! We were treated like a Queen and King. The room is large for NYC standards. We especially liked the wonderful view of Carnegie Hall/Russian Tea Room from our 15th floor room. The bathroom area has a large walk in shower and a separate bath tub with all the wonderful bathing amenities and a large 2 sink area. There is a small TV that comes through the mirror. The heated floor was a plus along with a low light com... Read more

At first glance, this hotel is very nice. It has the surface level gloss that promises five start service and feel. But if you pay attention to details, you will notice the Park Hyatt New York is not what is advertised. The rooms, for example, are very sharply designed. But after a few minutes you begin to notice the cheapness of the furniture and decor. It is Ikea meets the Upper West Side. And I am all for Ikea, just not when paying for something else. The same goes for the spa and pool, and t... Read more

This was our first stay at a Park Hyatt and we were impressed. We were greeted warmly by the doorman as we walk into a small simplistic 1st floor. Probably sensing my confusion, the host standing by a small podium welcomed us and mentioned the main lobby is on the 3rd floor but she'll check me in here. :) She kindly thanked us for being Platinum members, handed us our card keys, and led us to the elevator to the main lobby area. The main lobby offered a dining area with bar called The Livin... Read more

The Park Hyatt is a beautiful hotel in a perfect location. Unfortunately, the hotel has some issues. First, be aware that the hotel restaurant is closed for renovation. Therefore, the only food available is in the lobby bar known as the Living Room. The Living Room only serves an expensive breakfast buffet of mediocre breakfast fair. When I asked for a bagel, I was told I had to order the $40.00 buffet to obtain a single bagel. How ridiculous is that? Additionally, the luxurious spa is not real... Read more

I have stayed at this hotel three times over the 18 months, while the hard product is outstanding, the soft touches leave for a huge amount of improvement. Pros: Pool/Gym are gorgeous. No expense has been spared in having a beautiful space to work out/enjoy a swim. Lobby/Entrance area are also an aesthetically pleasing experience. Cons: This hotel has a lot to improve and I have actually noticed a downward trend in the way the hotel treats guests. Park Hyatts and many Grand Hyatts are kno... Read more

We stayed here for 3 days as a family of 5 in the west side suite. They had a great promotion with cash and points. The entire hotel is understated but luxurious which basically epitomizes the park Hyatt product of which this is the flagship. Located 2 blocks from Central Park across from Carnegie hall in midtown, pretty much close to everything. There were several street closings which made it difficult to get there by cab. As a guest with extensive travel experience, Park Hyatt NY doesn't honor your membership status. I am a platinum member, I requested an early check-in at 11:00am. I was given the keys to the room around 1:30pm. Generally with other chains such as SPG, Marriott, or Hilton. They do honor early check-ins, and I always get an upgrade when checking in. This hotel will not upgrade you to a better room. Very poor.

We were fortunate enough to have free night certificates for two nights at the Park Hyatt in New York. What a lovely treat. We were upgraded to a Superior King, with a view of Carnegie Hall, and even thought we were not "paying" guests, we still received some complementary treats for my husband's birthday and free drinks in the lounge with our platinum status. I loved the heated bathroom floors, and we got quite a kick out of the TV screen built into the bathroom mirror. The staff could not ... Read more

My husband & I stayed here during a trip to the east coast last spring. We started in New York City, and traveled down the coast stopping in Philadelphia, Atlantic City, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C. While we typically vacation on the beach, this was probably one of the most fun trips we have ever taken. NYC was our first stop, and the Park Hyatt was where we stayed. Everything was as you would expect in a very fine hotel. The rooms (suites) were beautifully furnished, quiet, very technologically advanced etc. The toilet in particular was one of the new Japanese-inspired ones that does an excellent job cleaning places you can't mention in a family publication such as TripAdvisor. The service was likewise great. Check-in was a breeze and valet had our car right out in front (no easy feat on a busy street) right on time. There was also lots of swag for chea... Read more

Hotel seems very secure: staffed desk at street entrance watching who enters, and then you take an elevator to another floor to access the key-carded elevators to the rooms, before walking through a hallway/reception area, watching again who passes by. Rooms and public décor are typical Park Hyatt, rather severe and somewhat dark, but the furnishings are good quality and the design elements are quite attractive and unique. The fitness center on the top floor was fully-stocked with high-quality... Read more

To the staff of the Living room, in particular Edsel who organized out thanksgiving night while visiting NYC. The concierge approached me realizing it's was my sons 21 st birthday and organized a cake, staff visits and congratulations from all. The menu was funky but with an eye to the traditions of thanksgiving. It was a great credit to the entire hotel what a magnificent night was created for first time visitors.
