Good size room and bed. Breakfast isn't great and it gets extremely busy. You are so close to the Empire State Building and Madison square gardens. The sky bar is fantastic with good cocktails and incredible photo opportunities of the Empire State Building lit up.

A boutique hotel in the middle of Koreatown with aa rooftop bar (not part of the hotel so you can't charge to the room). Very friendly staff. Concierge knowledgeable and very helpful. Room clean and more than adequate for two with small refrigerator. Wonderful selection at breakfast which came with our rate. Like most hotel rooms, lighting not quite good for reading--lamp not next to sofa, table lamp not powerful enough to read in bed. Definitely a place I would return to in New York City.

Loved this place, heaps of restaurants nearby, great rooftop bar. Close to shopping both for groceries and/or clothes. 15min walk to Times Square (depending on the sidewalk traffic!) Clean rooms. Friendly and helpful staff.

The location was nice. Room was small but clean. I could smell the people smoking on the floor below. The roof top bar was small but nice. Shower in morning was ice cold. The hotel staff was friendly and courteous. Parking was just down the street in a public garage that they validated.

Located in the shadow of Empire state building this hotel is in a great spot for visitors. Its walking distance to some of the most well known sites in the city (such as Times Sq.). The hotel itself is clean and the rooms are pretty good for NYC. Roof top bar is a bonus. Checking in staff could have been friendlier and more elevators/lifts would have pushed the review score to 5. Overall a pretty good choice.

By accident we booked a smoking room! Although its a smoking floor they should spray deodorizer to neutralize the smell. When we came in we found dirty towels still hanging in the bathroom and the carpet had black spots all over. They need to work on renovating their rooms to match the esthetic in the lobby. This is the worst 3 star hotel ever! The hampton inn is a 5 star compared to this. This is more like a 2 star, never coming back again.

We arrived around 10PM to be told that they had 'technical difficulties' with a whole floor, were therefor overbooked and would therefor have to book us in another hotel. Rather than offering us a hotel with comparable rating, the manager only had authority to get us into a room with a comparable price. As we had booked far in advance that would have been a 1 start hotel 1 hr outside manhattan. The whole city appeared to be sold out except for one place that had officially not even opened yet af... It was perfectly suited for our needs location wise. Close to Penn Station and Times Square. It is a very busy area and I felt sometimes the security was not tight enough at the front area, screening hotel people from those just going to the bar on the 17th floor. Around 11pm one evening we were in the elevator with a bunch of "kids" (early 20s) who were quite rowdy and selected the 17th floor. There was no security at the front desk to make sure they were not just roaming the hotel looking for ... Read more

This hotel is very modern and well-maintained at the corner of 5th Ave and West 32nd Street. The room was very clean with up-to-date bathroom and TV and wi-fi worked well. The staff was cheerful and the breakfast had a lot of variety with very fresh food and juice and coffee. I would stay there again.

The rooms are small but typical of New York hotels. There was 1 window in the hotel room making the room dark. The scaffolding also didn't help. There is a simple continental breakfast with hard boiled eggs, yogurt and bagels. We thought the bagels were really nice! The lobby is quaint but nice. The 2nd floor lounge is a nice place to hang out with coffee and tea provided. The hotel is very close to Madison Square Garden which was the reason for our visit..

The NYMA is awesome. We had nothing but a good experience here. The bed was amazingly comfy, and typically when we travel the thing we like least is the bed. Bathroom was modern clean and spacious especially for a NYC hotel. The hotel rooftop bar had the best view ever. It feels like you can reach out and touch the Empire State building. Great location close to subway station and in the middle of Koreatown! We love Korean food so we enjoyed the variety in Food Gallery 32 and BCD Tofu House! Streets are crowded at night! The hotel itself is pretty basic considering it's hard to find a room for $200, but good enough for our purposes. We spent the whole day enjoying the city and only need a bed for 7 hours. No soap or conditioner in bathroom. Free continental breakfast is the usual kind. Stuff is courteous and helpful in general.

I had to book a Manhattan hotel room at the last minute for an overnight and the place I usually stay was asking nearly $500 which just seemed outrageous. The ratings were acceptable and I knew this would be good not excellent, but all I needed was a bed, shower and bathroom for literally 10 hours. This place was seriously deficient. We loved the hotel. The top floor was a bar where you may see the night view of the city. The beds were comfortable although the room was small. They offered decent breakfast although the bfst room was small too. No parking on site. You need to park couple blocks down and $40 per night just because we have a minivan. Normally it cost 30 for a normal sedan. We paid $270 grand total per night. For new york, it is kind of expected. The fitness center was bigger than expected.

This little boutique hotel was a great value for the money. friendly staff, clean rooms, and a great location in trendy Korea town. Walking distance to Time Square, Macy's, Empire State Building, Madison Square Garden, etc. My only complaints would be slow elevators (only two for 18 floors) and the breakfast could have a bit more hot options. But those were minor. I would definitely recommend this hotel and I will stay here again.

I have stayed here previously about 2 years ago and loved the location so on a recent trip for my fiancé's birthday I decided to stay here again. The location was still amazing like I remember, and the room was clean and the bed comfortable. The only kind of large issue I had was that the wifi was basically non-existent. Stayed here during Thanksgiving in a Deluxe King. "Deluxe" adds a refrigerator and microwave. Good location in Korea Town, close to Metro & Macys parade route on 6th Ave. Within reasonable walking distance to Midtown attractions & Times Square. Clean rooms, friendly staff. Can check your bags if you want to sightsee before check in or after check out.

Spent 3 nights over Thanksgiving period. Stayed in a king room. Staff very friendly and helpful. Very busy on Korea st in the evenings and night. Hotel great location for many of the sights and close to Penn station. Brekkie had nice coffee and good stodgy carbs to get you through the day. Main Breakfast room a little overly warm what with the toasters and such. Great donuts! Nice little spot with tv and coffee just off reception to chill on our last day prior to leaving.

Just home this morning from a 6 night stay at the nyma hotel which I had booked back in February for myself and 4 others - my daughter (12), sister, friend and her daughter (15). Unfortunately I made the mistake of reading updated reviews of the nyma during the few days leading to our trip and got quite nervous that i may have made a mistake in booking this hotel, even though I am a firm believer of NOT believing everything I read as there is no pleasing some people (but there was so many negati... I love staying at the NYMA in Koreatown. This hotel is situated in mid-town Manhattan. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I have stayed here numerous times. The hotel is very clean and offers a complimentary breakfast. My recent stay was during Thanksgiving to attend the Macy's Parade with my husband and teenage son. We enjoy staying at the NYMA. The proximity to the Empire State Building and Macy's is within a 5 minute walking distance. Times Square is a 10- 15 minute walk. I love the loc... Read more

Have travelled to New York the past few years with family for some Christmas shopping. This was the best hotel we have stayed in by far. We have stayed in much more flashy hotels but this was by far the most clean comfortable and best value for money! Brill location, close to macys, Empire State, subway. It was so central & walking distance to Times Square. There was a really nice Japanese restaurant next door called amiko. Room was really clean, we had 2 double beds, there was a free safe in ou... Very central, 1 min from Empire State Building and about 5 Mins from Macy's, MSG and Penn Station. Not beautiful by any means, but it's clean and it's easy to find with the close proximity to Empire State. I would recommend a non-smoking room. Unfortunately I didn't mention this in the booking and unfortunately the smell of cigarettes lingered in the room from previous visitors. Friendly concierge helped get car to airport and it was very pleasant. Would definitely return.

First time in NY so didn't really know what to expect, hotel is in a great location right next to the empire state building, the roof top bar gives a fantastic view of the aforementioned. The hotel is a clean comfortable no frills type of place. Our room was on the sixteen floor and was very quiet. Breakfast is basic, but we had no problem getting a table although the dinning area is small and busy. Like others have mentioned the elevators are slow, there are only two to serve 17 floors, but oth... Read more
