I had a nice room on the 32nd floor and as a Marriott Rewards Gold Member had access to the Concierge Lounge. It was nice to have full hot breakfast before heading out for the day and appetizers before heading out for dinner. Service in the lounge was friendly. My room overlooked the 9-11 Memorial. If you are on the other side of the building, you'll have water views. The room was comfortable, but showing it age. I always appreciate having a refrigerator in the room, a nice iron and plenty... I typically stay at Marriott when I travel for business. This hotel delivered what I expect when I stay: clean, updated, fast and courteous service. I will stay at this hotel whenever I have business in downtown. This is not a five star experience. It is however a reliable place to use a base of operations in downtown. Right next to WTC. Plenty of food options nearby (it is NYC). The rate isn't the most important thing to me, but in this case the rate was pretty reasonable for NYC.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights while we toured NYC. The room was bright, clean, very spacious for New York, and the shower was amazing (great water pressure). We also upgraded to the Statue of Liberty room, which was really cool! The bed was very comfortable - probably the best sleep we have both had on our travels, which is so important when you're out exploring all day on your feet. Unfortunately, the walls are insanely thin and you can hear everything in the adjacent rooms. Af... Read more

Great location next to WTC site, Battery Park City, bike trail, and ferries to Statue of Liberty and Staten Island and subway lines to Brooklyn and Uptown Manhattan. Oversized rooms for Manhattan but only one chair to share...also, wear sunglasses in elevators...garish photos of taxis hurt the eyes...newly innovated fitness center with new equipment. Very accommodating staff. Room costs vary according to season from under $200 to over $300...avoid high season rates if you are on a budget.

Stayed at this hotel on business weekly for almost 8 months and cannot say enough about the staff and amenities. The location is great (close to many subway lines, Wall Street, any of the ferries), it's within a short walking distance of everything in the Financial District, and the views from the rooms are amazing. Skip staying in the crowded Times Square area and stay at the NY Marriott Downtown for an amazing experience!

Great hotel in the downtown of NYC. Close to the 911 Memorial, Financial District, and wharf. 2 blocks from the subway and good neighborhood for markets and places to grab a bit. George's Deli is 2 blocks and great for any meal or just a snack. Staff very helpful and rooms large and comfortable. Great value for this hotel in NYC. Chocolate chip cookies are offered in the afternoon which are killers.

We got a family room for 4 of us and there was no floor space left, but we did have a view of the statue of liberty. Hotel was just a short walk from Battery Park and was so much more peaceful than being up in Time Square. Not a great hotel if you are looking for fine dining to go with it. We chose this hotel for a ladies weekend mainly because of its location and the rate we got. Valet parking ($60) wasn't cheap, but it was hassle-free. This was a very nice hotel, if you are there only on the weekdays. Although 4 subway trains service the area only one runs on the weekends and that one stops just before midnight and has waits of 20-30 minutes when it is running. We wound up taking a cab multiple times because there was just no other safe way back. If you decide to chance it, just plan on paying for a cab or making hefty hikes and waiting.

In all, this place is decent. It was renovated in the last decade and may need to be updated again fairly soon. Many of the front desk staff are nice and helpful. Mario in the concierge lounge is great; he is there at night. On the other hand, the senior woman in the morning is not happy to be there which makes the lounge feel very different in the morning, even among other staff. The location is a marvel in itself, far from the madding crowd of NYC, and yet within walking distance of it. The staff is very helpful. I do recommend it.

To start, the view was probably the best I have experienced for the many years of traveling everywhere. 35th Floor. Stayed here for 4 weeks. Staff was excellent, attentive, food in the club lounge was requested specifically by our kids they wanted to go eat "lounge pasta" as their special dinner (over the local multicultural restaurants in Battery Park/Wall Street area... seriously?!). We did lots of internet searching and ultimately went to this Marriott, hands down and didn't disappoint. ... Read more

It was my first time in NY, and I found the Hotel staff very friendsly. They even offered me an loyalty card and I got free internet. The room was big and very close to the 9/11 memorial. I liked everything except the breakfast in the dinner that is inside the Hotel.

Walking distance to Freedom Tower and 911 Memorial this Marriott property is a great value for pleasure or business. The staff here is great and both housekeeping and the concierge were willing to respond to any request. Nice bar of lobby and an even nicer one in much more expensive "W" , around the block. Stay here , have drinks at W.

Great location, I had a awesome view of the World Trade and the river. I was upgraded to a junior suite. This hotel is ideal for business travel because it downtown and easy to get around. Great concierge lounge, breakfast and dinner was decent. Only cons is the elevators and daily rates. The elevators are slow and the room rates are bananas. It's difficult to get a decent room rate.

I went to New York on business and stayed at the Marriott which is in an excellent location. The employees there went out of their way to be helpful, they helped with anything. There is a Starbucks in the building, and they also have a concierge level as well. The room were the same size as any other Marriott which I did not expect being in New York. I would not hesitate recommending it to anyone.

We used the Downtown Marriott as our base for a day of meetings on Wall Street, followed by a day and a half of playing tourist in Nieuw Yawk. Hotel has spectacular views of New York Harbor and Hudson River and is very near WTC historic sites and the Battery. Subway service is two blocks away. The hotel is well located near the Metro. It is in the Wall St area and very close to Battery Park. Rooms are big and spacious, clean and tidy. We got a very deal for the week end which included upgrading our room. Breakfast is a little bit pricy in the hotel but there are plenty of places nearby where we got breakfast at a convenient price.

I frequently stay at this Marriott when traveling to NY for work. As a platinum member, this hotel often upgrades me to a nice corner room which is very large and spacious with a full living room and separate bedroom. They have a very nice new modern gym which is rarely crowded. It has all new equipment and is a very open space with plenty of room to work out. The concierge lounge isn't very large, but you can get a quick breakfast in the am and some food (not good at all, but something) i... Read more

Location is in the financial district. The World Trade Center 1 is only 2 blocks away. Subway is right around the corner. Out of our window we saw The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Had a wonderful dinner along the east river. Quite a few nice restaurants in the area. Historic Wall Street. Short ride to Times Square, Lincoln center, Soho, upper east side and upper west side. Transportation to Laguardia was short and reasonable. It was a wonderful location.

Very nice property, recently updated. Rooms are clean and "typical Marriott" experience. Gym is quite nice. Close to subway and the PATH. Better service than Hyatt or Hilton nearby, but Concierge Desk is not helpful with restaurant recommendations. They sent me to a terrible Chinese "cafeteria" when I said I wanted a nice Asian restaurant... As well as a really greasy breakfast spot. This is NY!! They should be able to make decent restaurant/entertainment recommendations.

Stayed here for a work trip, otherwise I probably would have stayed someplace else. The rooms are small and the beds are tiny.
