Hotel was very nice and clean. We spent a lot of time at the roof top bar there. Very nice, food was ok drinks were good. Comfy spot to sit and talk. Location of the hotel is great. We were able to walk to shopping, breakfast, lots of places. Hope to go back soon

Really enjoyed my stay, the Staff was outstanding, rooms very neat and spacious. I tried the restaurants and bars and honestly even thought it was very expensive at least for me it was well worth it! I was kind of surprise about the 150 deposit for day and how the hold it on your card, it takes a few days to get it back but it was not a big deal. I will definitely go back on heart beat, is the place to stay in NYC. Easy access to everything, short ride to La Guardia. Many restaurants, bars, phar... Read more

This hotel is beautiful and is in the perfect location. I stayed here for my birthday with some friends and I felt like royalty. When we arrived, there was a bottle of champagne in each room. The bar and pool area are really nice, but the pool does close at 6PM, which was a little disappointing, but this was the only negative I could say about the place. The rooms were a good size, clean and the beds were super comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and would love to stay here again... Read more

My husband and I stayed at the Gansevoort while I attended the annual Vision Expo East 2016 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center. Morning workout and sauna got my day going. After a long day of classes at the Expo, food & drinks on the Gansevoort rooftop was simply perfect! Joel and the entire staff are fantastic. Clean, modern rooms plus the location is great and easy to get to the Javits Center and around town. Who said you can't mix business with pleasure...Gansevoort did it!! My stay... Read more

Stayed only one evening on a business trip, but it felt like home right away. Everyone was super friendly and accommodating from the doorman, the front desk, baggage handlers - everyone I encountered. The rooms were a decent size and the amenities are fresh, new and modern. The rooftop bar and pool area was amazing. Just a cool, fun place to hang out. I'm coming back and I'm bringing my wife and friends.

This hotel is fantastic. The location is brilliant and the view of empire is spectacular from the bar. The service from both reception and rooms is great. The only thing letting this place down is the breakfast. We paid to have it included but the breakfast range is very limited!! You cannot even upgrade to alternatives without paying full price. Shame as otherwise it's 5*

Its a pretty cool place and having a pool on the roof with a morning swim is not too bad at all. Still they could do better, its a kind of mass product and friendliness of staff is business driven and not heart driven. It was annoying that roof top terrace was closed for a private event on my first evening - you are a paying hotel guest and can't use the facilities?! Rooms are spacious for NYC - but no coffee machine or water boiler - a must nowadays and not to accept to pay extra. Decoration is... Read more

This hotel is really good. Great restaurants, lots of gift shops, great restaurants, friendly staff, this hotel is great. This hotel is also right in the heart of Manhattan, which means this hotel also provides great transportation. My only downside of this hotel is the pool. The pool is small, and is only 4 feet deep at the max. Not to mention, there's no hot tub. Other than that, this hotel is great.

Everything about the Gansevoort was top notch without being at all pretentious. Lobby staff were consistently helpful and smiling. My room was a very decent size for NYC. I was on the 10th floor and heard no traffic noise at night, which was fabulous. A/C was effective and not too loud. The bed was quite comfortable. Super clean. And the rooftop bar with all the windows and doors open was a really nice place to hang out for an hour late on a summer afternoon.

The location was great, near public transportation, shopping, restaurants, nightlife, you name it. Check in was very easy and customer service was very friendly and helpful. The Deluxe room was incredibly spacious, clean, comfortable, quiet and inviting. My room was on the 11th floor and the view of the surrounding area was nice. The bathroom was the best hotel bathroom ever with a separate shower and soaking tub. There was plenty of storage space, space to hang out, espresso maker, and stocked... Read more

i recently stayed in the Gansevoort for a week on a business trip. The hotel itself is great, the rooms are nice and big for NYC , the rooftop pool and bar are fantastic looking and a good hang. the overall thing that i noticed as an experienced hotel vistior, is that check in took a long time, there were 4 people at the desk and no one would even make eye contact for fear of having to check you in, took 15 minutes and there were only 2 guests. next i had prearranged for a massage in their "S... Our family stayed here for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed this fabulous hotel! Wonderful hotel with exceptional, friendly staff! Rooftop pool was very relaxing with great views as well! Rooms were very comfortable and level of service provided was first class. Marcus, as well as others, were professional and attentive to our family needs.

After leaving the Affinia Manhattan without even staying a night due to horrible rooms, we were saved by the Gansevoort. Great front of house staff, great amenities, room was big, clean and well appointed. Bathroom was very comfortable with shower, bath, toilet, double length sink and room to spare. Both downstairs bar and upstairs pool bar were nice. Location was convenient for subway, taxis and plenty of things within walking distance. The only problem we did encounter was some noise from the... Read more

The nightclub is completely awful; many better places to visit. The service is garbage, overpriced, and they will charge your card more then you signed for. The staff does not care about the people, just making sure they can get your credit card in their hands.

The room was clean, nice view of the city from the rooftop BUT I got charged for two items from the mini bar in the room that I didn't even use. Also the tub was clogged the next morning after being there 1 night. . Housekeeping should pay attention when they're taking inventory.

Popped in for a drink on Friday evening. Roof top bar is a really fun place to be. Casual atmosphere without the pomp you might expect on 5th ave. staff were super friendly. Views are great alcohol is cold! Just a great place to drop into on a warm summer night for a quick drink or two

We loved our stay at the Gansevoort Park Avenue! We mentioned it was our honeymoon at check in and they very kindly upgraded us to a suite which was huge and the bathrooms were amazing. We also had the continental breakfast included which was delicious I especially loved the yoghurt and granola. We didn't find the time to check out the rooftop unfortunately but maybe next time we visit! The staff were very polite and attentive I would definitely recommend staying here and the location was great.

Stayed with a friend while sightseeing in NY for a weekend. Perfect location for getting around. The room was very impressive big comfy beds, great views all the amenities that we required. Staff were very attentive. The roof top bar/pool area was amazing, fantastic to see the Empire State Building at night while sipping cocktails.

Gansevoort Park was absolutely fab! My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights en route to Toronto, so it was just a whistle stop but we really didn't want to leave. Roof top pool and bar are ace, staff are lovely and very helpful, room was lush, mini bar was the most extensive I've ever seen (!), awesome complimentary toiletries, good room service and it really was an amazing hotel! This was our second stay in the Gansevoort, which is a most convenient starting point to discover the city - Fifth Av. around the corner, Central Park in walking distance, subway on the other side of the road. Checking in was extremely friendly and uncomplicated, generally the staff at reception and in the hall is always helpful and nice. The unique point of this hotel is the rooftop pool, unfortunately a bit crowded in this hot and sunny time of year, but anyway, it is a most enjoyable experien... Read more

This is a bit of a condundrum. It is a very plush, elegant hotel in a good location of NYC. It's at the higher end of the price range and it does have some minor frustrating faults. The front of house staff are extremely helpful. However I didn't like the fact I was corrected by a barman in the pool bar about not tipping him when he poured me a glass of wine at the bar -which I had come in to get. But hey I'm an Aussie and didn't realize that it was worth a $2 or $3 dollar tip on top of a $... Read more

My wife and I stayed there in April 2016 for 4 nights. The staff were really good and friendly. The rooms were also clean and the bedding was also good. The rooftop bar and Pool were also great and so was the location. We were there for 4 nights and loved our time in NYC. Would definitely go back to the same location.

We stayed 4 nights at the Gansevoort Park Ave at the end of July. This was our family's first trip to Manhattan and I'm so glad we picked this hotel. We were 8 people in 3 rooms (all 2 double beds). I don't know how old it is, but it is maintained very well. I don't know the size of typical Manhattan hotels, but a few times we all gathered in 1 room to make plans & it wasn't uncomfortable. Bathroom used space very well & plenty of room for our toiletries. I never went to the pool but my kids & n... Read more

Fab location, fantastic comfy beds with luxury bed linens which was just perfect after a long haul flight from UK. The roof top pool was wonderful and we had it pretty much to ourselves in the morning. The view of the Empire State Building from the pool was just amazing. It's not cheap to stay here but as a special treat it's worth every penny and I'd definately recommend it.

Where do I begin? Let me say that until staying at the Gansevoort, I have never, ever stayed in a hotel where no one ever asked how my stay was (or at the restaurant, how my meal was). So here is how it was. We stayed here for a weekend while in NYC. We specifically picked it based on their being a pool there, which would have been nice for relaxing just for a bit on a hot summer weekend. When we arrived Friday, we were told the pool was closed for the remainder of the day for a private par... Read more

We stayed at this hotel with our 3 kids (14, 13 & 9). Great location. Lovely rooms. Staff were seriously helpful. Rooftop pool more like a bar in water. Seriously posey, but a great view of the Empire State Building. Could have done without the smoking & dogs at the pool. All in all pretty cool. Would definitely recommend.

The Hotel Gansevoort is centrally located. It has stars. There's Dom Perignon in the minibar. I get it. The pool is a constant scene. From Supermodel Lolitas in full hair & makeup, to nouveau-riche Ukranian Applestore fans. This place is always busy. They let you order Pizza from anywhere. Security escorts the Pizza guy up to your room. Yeah.
