The service here is outstanding. I requested a fragrance-free room, and that's what I got - none of the usual Hyatt nonsense about "it's good enough". They also remembered that I like extra feather pillows; I didn't even have to ask. I only ordered room service once, but it was plentiful and yummy, as well as arriving promptly. Oh, and the shower . . . that was amazing. What an awesome shower, with tons of water pressure so that the "rainfall" shower head felt like standing under a waterfall (ra... Read more

I often travel for work, and, when I travel to NYC, I often am staying at the Hyatt Union Square. I love the location in Union Square - tons of restaurants from fancy to hole-in-the-wall finds are walking distance away, a main subway hub right nearby, and good leisure activities around (if you have the time - movie theater, mall, etc.). The hotel itself is very new (I think it opened in 2013?), so the rooms and conditions of the whole facility are still in that brand-new stage - i.e. perfect! It... Read more

I stayed at the Hyatt Union Square in New York as it was within a mile of my daughter's apartment. If you want to get out of mid-town Manhattan, the Hyatt Union Square is a great location. Within walking distance of many great restaurants and shopping. (I highly recommend tours of the East Village, West Village, Chelsea, SoHo, Wall Street, the 9/11 Memorial.) Rooms are small, as is typical in NY, but nicely furnished. A fitness center is available 24/7. I ate at the restaurant one evening.... Read more

Location is the only thing this Hotel has going for them. The rooms are very small and not very up to date with it's décor. It was ok but for the price we paid - it was very disappointing. Definitely not a 4 star hotel. 1 of the elevators was always down and their stairs led you outside - it was pouring out 2 out of the 3 days of our visit - therefore everytime we used the stairs - we had to run around the corner to get to back into the hotel (after getting soaked) Staff was not very frien... This was my first trip to New York. It was for a conference. I loved the hardwood floors and room setup in the hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. Walking distance to some vegetarian and gluten-free friendly restaurants, huge bookstore on the same block, and 7th&14th subway stop close by. I would definitely stay here next time. We appreciated the advice about how long it takes to JFK- we would have been late if we had relied on the time set up by the travel agent.

I recently stayed four night at the Hyatt Union Square. I found the customer service from the entire staff very friendly and professional. The guest room I had was relatively large for NYC, well appointed, and sparkling clean. The hotel is in a great location, 1 block from a major subway station, and finally the price for my stay was very fair! I absolutely recommend this hotel,

A very good hotel overall. Good location is a big plus. Small rooms are expected on NYC but I we surprised there was no regular Hyatt breakfast: it never happened before in any other Hyatt. Also it is the first time we were not upgraded, and even though I did book hotel for two ladies and asked for separate beds we needed to sleep in one bed and everything (towels, shampoos, a robe, even an evening square of chocolate) were made for one. People at the reception were very friendly.

Great location! Amazing staff! Stylish room! The only complaints we had are regarding the bathroom comfort; the faucet in the sink, although very stylish, is to low! You can??t fit both of your hands when you want to wash them ?? unless you slide them, under the faucet, one by one. Very uncomfortable! Another thing that was missing, again ?? comfort reasons only, was a Hand Held Shower Head in addition to the Wall-Mount Shower Head.

The hotel is wonderful. You are greeted by warm staff who make check-in seamless. The hotel has all the amenities: restaurant, room service, gym, in room coffee and a great mini bar with snacks in the room. The room was quiet in spite of the central location (I didn't hear other guests or traffic) and has blackout curtains with a comfortable bed. The service was incredible (they brought me a toothbrush and toothpaste that I forgot). The location is fantastic in Union Square at a lower price tha... Read more

I stayed in the Hyatt at Union Square because I had business more downtown rather than up around Central Park as usual. I did pop "uptown" on the underground which was extremely easy -- Union Square-Time Square-Lincoln Square. The hotel is a boutique hotel with a great gym, nice lounge/bar and small restaurant. The staff was delightful and helpful. Best of all it was an easy walk everywhere. I think I found my new base in NY.
