We have stayed at this property many times in the past several years when visiting our daughter who lives in NYC. The location is superb...walking distance to Central Park, museums, subways, Columbus Circle, Times Square, Hell's Kitchen (for fabulous choices of restaurants), etc.. The hotel rooms are large, and although they could be updated a bit, they are clean, comfortable and the staff is great! Although we have not had breakfast in the hotel, there are many options in the area. While we ... Read more

We weren't sure what to expect, but this Holiday Inn surpassed our expectations. The hotel staff were all very friendly, and helpful. The room was very spacious for any city, but even more so, when you compare it to other NYC hotels. The location is great too. Columbus Circle subway line is just a few blocks away and you can walk to Radio City, Times Square and Broadway. While we were there, there was a food festival, just a couple of blocks walking distance. The only downside to the hotel... Read more

Hotel is aging but was fine and clean. Location was perfect for Lincoln Center. Elevators were old and very tiny (max eight people tightly squeezed in). The day we left (9am) the elevators were packed and we had to wait thru several cycles to get one that wasn't full. We left from the 10th floor in a packed elevator and hit every floor down to the 4th when the elevator abandoned the trip downward and went to the 18th floor and started the process over. We decided to take the stairs at the 1... Read more

This Holiday Inn located in Hells Kitchen, is a foodies delight! There are literally hundreds of restaurants within a 15 minute walk. Rooms are clean and decent; could use a bit of renovation. Hotel is also located within walking distance to Times Square, Central Park, and the Theater District. Concierge was very helpful; as were the bellmen. First, the positives. Great location; terrific staff at check in and in the Skylight Lounge (kudos to Ben!), the beds and pillows. Marginal -- the breakfast. Negatives: We checked in to our room and there was something in the room that seriously triggered my allergies. The desk accommodated us with a room change, but it was a hassle after a long, cross country flight. Because the weather was quite hot, we slept with the windows open -- noisy streets -- but that is expected in NYC.

The location was the main reason we picked this hotel, as its 10 blocks from Times Square, close to the park and right near a subway station. There are plenty of nice local restaurants nearby if you feel like a casual dinner, and there is a Starbucks across the street if you??re looking for a quick breakfast. Staff were friendly and attentive. The hotel is a bit aged but the rooms are basic but surprisingly spacious and very clean. The hotel is good value and I??d recommend staying here if you... The air conditioning was so efficient we had to switch it off from time to time. The location was superb - next to Columbus Circle, Central Park and Lincoln Centre. Great location for getting around Times Square. My wife and I were able to walk to pretty much everything we wanted to see and walked to the subway to get to the other places further out. Rooms were nice and the staff was friendly. I was disappointed that we were unable to use points for the stay. Also found it unusual that the room did not have a fridge or microwave. They rented out the rooftop pool to a group that went until eleven with loud music. Ben the bartender was great.

In my various trips around the world, I kind of settled for the IHG hotels as my home away from home. I only stay in other hotel brands either for a change, to review or I have no option. So, booking this Holiday inn for me by my office was cool. For some reason, this lovely hotel on 57th street Manhattan has one of the poorest customer service I have witnessed anywhere in the world. The decor is a little tired, but does offer good value for many as it is one of the cheaper hotels in a very expensive area. If you are coming to New York for sightseeing then it is a great choice. After a lot of searching for best areas and best hotels within our budget for a 4 night stay in NYC, we decided to go with the Holiday Inn on 57th as a budget option. Our thinking being all we needed was a bed, as we would be on the go for most of our stay. We can honestly say we were very happy with our decision. The hotel is clean and quiet, but most importantly the location is superb. A short walk of a couple of minutes and you are at Columbus Circle, the south west tip of Central Park and ... Read more

We stayed here from 3rd to 10th Sept, we are a party of four with 2 rooms. Overall the hotel rooms a spacious, the beds are comfy and clean and the towels are fluffy. These are the only positives I can give this hotel and there are plenty of negatives so my suggestion would be "stay somewhere else if being happy with your accommodation is a must for your vacation". We booked a room here for the New York Century Bike Ride. In 20 years of biking, we have never had a hotel refuse to let us take our bikes to our room, until this place. They literally made us cancel the reservation and find another hotel at 7pm the night before a big NY event, rather than waive the policy for us. It turned out to be no big deal because there are 10 or more hotels within walking distance with nicer employees and more customer centered policies.

From a location point of view this hotel is well placed. The hotel itself could do with a lot of TLC we were on the 18th floor with a great view of New York but the room was old dated and tired with repairs to plasterwork due to what looked like damp. The bathroom was old and small. Coffee and tea was not replenished each day. We didn't use any other services in the hotel so cannot comment. If you want a hotel just to sleep in at a reasonable cost but no extras then this one is ok.
