I was able to visit NYC with my husband who has been working there for the last 6 months. This location is great as it is in Midtown and close to many places. I walked to Central Park from this location and also to the tv studios for Live and The Chew. There are subway stops a couple blocks away so very easy to get to other parts of the city. The Carnegie deli is close and around the corner is where the Steven Colbert show is shot. The hotel was clean and the staff were very friendly includ... Read more

Nothing negative to report with this hotel. All staff were very friendly and helpful. We liked the location of this hotel between Central Park & Times Square. The room was well-appointed, large enough for our 4 pieces of luggage. Although, we didn't use it, appreciated the microwave in the room. We did use the in-room safe. The daily breakfast buffet was very satisfying.

This hotel is central to all points in the city. Wouldn't want to stay anywhere else. Rooms are clean and staff is friendly. The only issue we had was the shower filled with water and felt like I was standing in a tub. But it's an easy fix. It's a pleasure to have a drink in the open outside restaurant attached to hotel.

The place is clean, the staff are friendly and helpful, going out of their way to help facilitate an early check in for me. My only (minor) gripe would be that there are only two elevators and if you go for one during a busy time you can wait literally 10 minutes. I would absolutely stay here again.

one of the greatest locations in the Rock. a short walk to Central Park and even shorter to Times Square. We stayed at a higher floor and views were exceptional. by booking it in advance we got a very non-expensive price. I will definately consider this location for my next visit :) The only complain is about the elevator rush hour, but it is acceptable.

Great location. Great room. Great staff. Only real draw back is the tiny elevators for the huge place. Do not wait for elevator on way down. Ride it up to ensure you get a spot. People waited for 20 minutes to get on. And don't try to get staff to tell you which subway line to take to the train station -grand central. They just don't know. They seem to think you are looking for a taxi to the airport no matter what you ask them. Very frustrating.

Stayed here for one night (a Sunday in June). I was very pleased with the location. Room was a bit small, but adequate enough for 1-2 people. Bathroom is pretty small as well. Hotel lobby was pretty small too, and it got congested at times. However, they did have free coffee in the morning. One watch out is that there are 34 floors with 3 elevators. There are definitely peak times (they are posted) in which you need to add an extra 5-10 minutes to get from your room down to the lobby. Ho... Read more

Though we never stay in mid-town, the price couldn't be beat for a name brand hotel. It was convenient to the theater district and restaurants. The room was very attractive and very clean. We had a room that was small for four people and the view was not that great. The location was great and the room cleaning was great. Our only issue was the air filter on the vent - needed to be changed out. Some of us had allergies and we were wondering why we were feeling a bit under the weather. My family of 5 recently stayed at this hotel in two rooms. Because it was NYC, the rooms were small and the three elevators are especially tiny, but the rooms were very clean, and the staff was especially good (I travel a lot for work). From the guest check-in people, to the bell staff, to the cleaning staff, they were all friendly and provided accurate, helpful information. The rooms each have a Keurig coffee maker. Great location within walking distance to 5th ave shopping, MOMA, theatre district if you have good shoes, as they'll be 8-12 blocks distant. The staff were friendly and effective. The staff was friendly and the room was adequate. (The bathroom could be a bit cleaner). My biggest concern was the requirement to make a copy of my credit card and Federal government identification. This service at this hotel was horrible! The location was fabulous but the experience at the Hilton was unforgettable for all the wrong reasons. The check-in process was unorganized and it took too long for a room. Our room was not ready when it was promised. We come to NYC several times a year (some leisure; mostly business) and when it's a leisure trip we try to stay at hotels in different parts of the city. This HGI was appealing because of its location for our weekend plans and its description as newly built. Our rooms were clean, well appointed with a modern touch and very serviceable and we... The good points about this hotel are the location, the friendly staff and extremely comfortable beds and the spotlessly clean bathroom. We took breakfast on several occasions which was very good with an excellent buffet that changed from day to day Contrary to some reviews we had no problems with the lifts and never waited more than a minute or so to get one The not so good points were being woken on several occasions during the night by noisy air conditioning, that sounded like a tractor engine... I booked a 2nd floor room and enjoyed a delightful terrace above 54th Street. This floor location also worked well when we wanted to walk to the first floor (30+ floors in the hotel and can be elevator delay at certain hours). Staff was friendly and accommodating. Easy walk to Central Park, Times Square and, of course, Broadway and all the theaters. Subway stop just a few blocks away with a 15-minute ride to the World Trade area and the 9/11 Memorial and Museum.

As is not uncommon in NYC the standard room at the Garden Inn is quite small. However, my biggest problem is how can one construct a 33 floor hotel with only 3 small elevators. There is no service elevator, so guests are competing with the housekeeping staff to use the elevators; resulting in long waits. The bell staff is unresponsive. We checked our luggage upon arrival, since our room was not available and then had to wait over 15 minutes to retrieve the luggage before going to dinner. I was t... Read more

Location was great. Room, king size bed on the 27th floor was tiny. Almost wanted to go into the hall just to change my mind. It was very clean and comfortable but not for a long time. Only one chair for the desk and the bed with two night stands and a table attached to the wall was the décor. Super staff! Make sure if your in for the first time to ask direct questions. We were miss lead a couple of times because we didn't ask the right questions.

Very good hotel premium reword for good price. The stuff are fine, except one of the concierge. She is the reason for less stars then 5. As we see it, a concierge must be the most skilled person of the stuff that comes in front of the guests in all hotels, specialy in a highly range hotel like hilton. She was rude, here English was bad and her attitude towards the people's the need her service wos shem less.

I have stayed in at least a dozen different Hilton properties in Manhattan and this particular property is a hidden gem. I stayed here for 2 nights on business. There was a fairly long line for check in. Once you check in, you hit the issue of the elevators. They are slooooow and you have to wait a long time. The hotel is aware of this as there is a card in your key folder telling you to plan your timings around the elevators! Then, whilst you are waiting for the elevators, they have a timeshare guy from Hilton trying to sell you (which is really uncomfortable in my opinion). The room was small, smaller than an... Just stayed at the Central Park Hilton and was disappointed. I ended up paying more for the "reward trip" than I would have had I just called and booked a room. Booked two weeks in advance and ended up paying almost twice the fee of what it would have cost if I booked a single day in advance. All in all the hotel was very expensive for the value.

Just arrived back from 5 days in New York. This hotel is in a great location for all sight seeing and dining. Best part for me was that I emailed hotel to ask for adjacent rooms with our son (as there are loads of rooms/floors there - didn't want to end up at different ends of hotel) and they were more than helpful. Small thing, but being next door made a huge difference to us for meeting up in the morning and during the day.

Staying on the 26th floor has its pro's and con's: incredibly quiet but a long wait for the elevators. Hotel rooms are small but nicely decorated. Bathroom is good with a walk-in shower and glass doors--no tub to step over. As a gold member I took advantage of complimentary breakfast one time only. The cereal was stale, coffee was undrinkable and the grapefruit juice had turned. I left and went to a great little breakfast place on the corner--go there.

New York is not a cheap city for hotels and location is a key factor in a city this size. The Hilton Garden Inn has a great location, on 54th Street, just off Broadway. It is a five minute walk to the 7th Avenue Subway station where the E train serving JFK stops, very useful. A walk of about ten minutes south will bring you into the heart of Times Square, so just a nice distance away from the lights.
