The room is big and comfortable, and the cleaners do an amazing job with the place. It's nice to come back to a tidy room after leaving it in a mess. The staffs are super friendly especially Teddy the Breakfast Ambassador. She made us feel welcomed and at home. Not to mention her energy and smile really makes your morning. Truly and awful place to stay. Unbelievably noisy, front doors were so loud slamming shut the sound reverberating up and down the halls. The plumbing was noisy, we were acutely aware each time our neighbours took a shower. Very basic rooms, tired and old furnishings, lots of grease on the headboards. Ques for the lifts, long ques for the breakfast which was the most awful part of this hotel. Food is shocking. Nothing fresh, everything is out of a package or served in a plastic package. Staff was awesome and super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great and location is wonderful. Loved the atmosphere and friendly welcome and help from the front desk. :) Didn't give 5 stars because the room wasn't super clean. Didn't look like it had been cleaned well but was straightened up nicely each day (we were there 2 nights). I am a neat freak and it just didn't look like it had been mopped well or feel super clean. Overall though it was a great place and we would likely stay again.

Stayed at the Hampton Inn Times Square North from May 10-15th. This was my third trip to New York, I have always stayed closer to Times Square, I choose this location because of the breakfast included option. I was very pleased immediately upon arrival. We arrived early, the hotel stored our luggage and offered us breakfast. The hotel is clean and has all the needed amenities. The rooms are dated, however very clean. Location was great! We felt safe (which is really important!) and we were a block from the Hell's Kitchen area. Excellent food choices. Blocks from Theater District as well. Breakfast was okay. Staff was nice. Just an average hotel, but clean. We really just needed room for sleeping and taking showers, so for us, it was fine. It is were our High School group was staying, so that's were we booked. It was during the Spring, so the air wasn't a huge deal, but the rooms were hot at night. The air br... Read more

Stayed here for 2 weeks while on holiday in NYC. Good sized room, everything was clean, modern bathroom with good shower etc. DirecTV was nice to have in the evenings. A mini fridge would have been nice to have however (and more useful than the ironing board!). However, the standard wifi that was provided was really slow and unreliable - so much so that I had better wife on the subway. Pretty poor considering how vital a good internet connection is these days. The breakfast hall is also woeful... Read more

Clean, quiet, friendly and helpful staff, free breakfast, unbeatable location, reasonable (for NY) rates, good-sized (for NY) room and bathroom, nicely furnished, free Wifi for HH members. Elevators could take a few minutes to arrive, so need to plan around that if you're in a hurry. Also, Hampton provides cardboard cups for beverages -- glass is preferable. Highly recommend this hotel for all types of travelers. Will be my first choice for future visits.

I think you have to do this atleast once while your in New York City, we had a good time. You can walk from the hotel or take a cab. The hotel offers free WiFi and the breakfast was good. I would recommend this hotel as the price is pretty good and your in a prime location. I will stay at this Hampton again!

This hotel is well located. It was fine for our family. Although the bathroom was somewhat dated and didn't have enough ventilation, the beds were comfortable and clean. The room was standard size. Even if it is included in the price, the hot and cold breakfast was good and saves time and money. This is not a 5 star hotel, but who can afford one in Manhattan? And is it really worth it? We were rarely at the hotel anyway. I recommend it.

Took the subway, the 1 line to Battery Park, about a 30 minute travel time. Definitely recommend. Breakfast is pretty busy there, so give yourself an extra 10 minites more than you think you need.

The breakfast can be very chaotic, there is a reasonable choice and is a perfectly adequate start to your day. Being included also a bonus as eating... Read more

New York City accommodation is expensive, and being the greatest city in the world, it can be hit and miss with what you get for your money. I decided to go with the Hampton, as I know what to expect from the Hilton/Hampton standard, and the location was great, right on the corner of 51st and 8th. We stayed during an expensive time, and had a decent stretch in the city, so value was what we were looking for, and it's exactly what we got. The rooms are nice and large, well appointed with plenty o... Read more

We stayed here 2 years ago and since then the hotel has deteriorated. The bathroom smelled musty, the grout is in need of replacement and when I bumped my foot on the doorstop it broke out of the rotted (moisture related) door. I talked with others with our group and it it sounds like all rooms are in need if upgrade (unless the large groups get the older rooms). Beds were comfortable, breakfast a nice way to start the day and an ideal location.

This is not a fancy hotel, one in a dozen rather, but still an excellent choice for a visit NYC. Metro E-line has an entrance accross the street, this is the line that goes to JFK (1 stopover to the Airtrain). Takes approx 1 hour. tip: airtrain is 5$. However as of 2/3 persons it's better to by a card with 10 rides, only 2,5$. Valid for 2 years I believe. Also other metrolines close by. Nice restaurants, a bit out of the main tourist stream are walking distance. City Bikes, great and easy trna... Read more

My wife and I stayed here for two nights. The hotel is an older property but it is in very good condition. Our room was clean, in good condition, everything worked properly and it was large, especially by NY standards. We were on the 10th floor facing west. We had a nice view and the room was quiet. The complimentary breakfast was standard Hampton fare - good for a free breakfast. The staff was very friendly. The location was good - close to the theater district, central park, times square and s... Read more

Stayed here one night for a quick trip to NYC. Hotel looks outdated from the outside but is modern and updated on the inside. Beds were super comfortable & bathrooms were spotless. The check in process went smoothly, just wish the staff was a little friendlier.

Stayed in the hotel for 7 nights. We had a family room, which consisted of two double beds. The room was spacious and very clean. Rooms cleaned every day & loads of satellite stations for kids to watch some TV at night (everyone was exhausted from the walking during the day- delighted to just chill at night). Free tea, coffee, hot chocolate & cookies at the hotel reception everyday - which was a nice touch. The staff were ultra helpful, with a special mention for Geraldine in the breakfast restau... Visited the city due to a family funeral. Hotel was better than expected. Makes me want to return again soon This hotel is not in the "busy, busy" area so that's great for driving into the city from the Lincoln Tunnel. Can take an easy walk a few blocks to Times Square. Breakfast is included in the rate. Security person is visible in lobby which makes guests safe. Many places to eat dinner in all directions nearby. Tip: choose the hotel rate that includes the parking fee. Improvement: light... Read more

My mom and I spent 3 nights here. It was our first time in the city. The hotel is centrally located between Times Square and Central Park. From here you can walk to Central Park, Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall, Broadway, where you can't walk, take the train. I suggest getting the one week unlimited metrocard. We checked in around 4 pm and it was a breeze, less than 2 mins. The room at the Hampton was spacious and clean. The breakfast was lack luster and they could us... Read more

This is a very nice hotel located on eighth Avenue and close to Times Square. It includes a free breakfast in the morning which is always crowded. The rooms are large by New York standards with nice large windows and views of either the street or the buildings behind. The rooms are modern and clean. The bathrooms are also well kept. This is a very popular hotel since it's one of the most inexpensive hotels in the area and it's worth coming too. I highly recommend it.

Having been to New York City only once before it was so hard to pick a moderately priced hotel for my niece and myself in November. I settled on the Hampton inn Time Square, North. It is perfect the room the 10th floor overlooking 8th ave. A wonderful size room more than we expected. Lovely check in and no wait. Nice breakfast area. Clean everywhere. Soooooo convenient to everything. All more positive than we hoped for.

I brought my parents to NYC for their 50th anniversary and stayed at the Hampton Inn. I was very pleased and happy with the hotel and their service. One of the rooms wasn't quite ready which was no big deal as there was plenty to walk and see. Great location and very knowledgeable staff. Room was clean and fresh. I would definitely recommend this place and will be returning.

The staff at this Hampton is outstanding, and they were genuinely friendly and patient with our numerous requests for directions, recommendations, and assistance. For a reasonably priced NYC hotel, you can't go wrong here. Rooms were spacious and staff very friendly. I was genuinely surprised to find my room to be like other Hampton Inn properties around the country, as opposed to shoebox sized rooms you get in most of NY. This is a secret gem.

Hard to beat this great location on the edge of Broadway and Times Square. An easy short walk to Rockefeller Center, theaters, Hells Kitchen and Central Park plus its nearly on top of the E Train for a straight shot at the 911 Memorial. The hotel isn't new but adequate and clean with the standard morning breakfast. Its prices are what you'd expect for a NYC hotel of moderate quality.

Room was very large and upon request they even brought us a microwave and fridge. Free tea and coffee in the lobby. Breakfast was good however the lines to get to the breakfast buffet were very long, and at any one time there were about six people fighting over two waffle irons. They really should have a much larger breakfast area for such a big hotel. Centrally located.

Stayed 3 nights on the 6th floor. The room is far larger than the average in NYC which is a great plus. Location is top, close to several subway lines, Times Square and Central Park. Staff was OK, but we had no special requests. We paid 120 USD a night through a HHonors deal, so I value for money was superb. Yes, will return due to the value points that clearly outweigh all the rest.

We had a room (#913) on the ninth floor, one of our smallest Hampton rooms ever, and were horrified to have the noisiest neighbors we have ever encountered. To add insult to injury, the staff screamed from one end of the hallway to one another. We were really tired when we checked in so tried to take a nap which was absolutely impossible. It was convenient to walk most anywhere, Hell's kitchen, Broadway theaters, in the heart of Times Square. Breakfast was standard Hampton fare.

Having stayed at several Hamptons in the last 12 months, I have to say these guys really miss expectations. These guys charge high Times Square rates but deliver a hopeful Bowery old place abode. I'd have been much more effusive in praise at $150 less a night but, Hilton, you're using this joint as a cash cow (nearly dead cow at that) and it's doing nothing for your brand. High priced due solely to location. Upside: location, little outside noise.. Downside: seedy, cracked sink, broken tile... Read more

stayed here a week for a conference. this was cheaper than where the conference was held (midtown HIlton). Close to subway. Near reasonable restaurants. Be prepared to walk though as it's off the beaten path if you're interested in the Broadway area. Breakfast times can be quite busy but typical for a Hampton Inn.
