We initially chose this hotel due to the close proximity to my daughter‚??s apartment a few blocks south of the hotel. Based on other options, the hotel also represented a good value as we were able to catch the end of summer pricing on one of our two night stay. The location proved to be great just a couple of blocks away from Grand Central and nestled between 2nd and 3rd avenue. We were able to use the subway or walk to most of our destinations including Yankee Stadium, the US Open, and JFK... Read more

This is a very nice hotel, staff was pleasant and helpful. Rooms a bit small but it is New York. The place is small compared to some hotels but was nice and within walking distance to hospital. Restaurant on site with bar. Good food and nice place.

A wonderful Hampton Inn - close to everything including Grand Central (and the terrific food market there). Staff extremely friendly. Breakfast great - same as at all Hamptons, which to me is just fine - always have fruit, eggs, etc, not just starch. Many international travelers which makes the breakfast room fun. Clean, comfortable, convenient, friendly and a great price for NYC. Super stay.

We loved our stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. The hotel was in a excellent location, on a quiet street near grand central. I loved the fact there was tea and coffee 24hrs a day and they even had English Breakfast tea which made me very happy! There was always plenty of choice on offer for breakfast and it would change every morning so you didn't get bored of the same thing. The hotel room was exceptionally clean. The staff made this a great stay. I've stayed at Hampton Inns around the country and this is the best. Things that the staff did that were above and beyond: warm up our baby bottle, and Mac and cheese for the kids, offer a map of the subway system, offer water bottles. On top of that they were just overall very friendly to my family, especially our kids. The rooms were small but it's Manhattan so we were expecting that. Overall it was a great stay.

We stayed in an accessible room - would recommend as very large rooms for New York (wet room style shower - no bath if you prefer them). Great location close to grand central station. Staff are always happy to help. Kids enjoyed the diy waffles at breakfast and there are handy snack bags in reception to take with you for the day with apple, water etc.

I stayed at Hampton Inn/United Nations for few nights while on a business trip to the UN. The staff were very nice, polite and helpful. The room was small but by New York standard, it was big enough for single occupant. The bathroom pipes were a bit noisy and there was also some noise coming from next room as I was in a 'joined' room. So perhaps ask for a non-joined room if you are bothered by noise. I loved the warm and yammy cookies at the lobby, a lovely touch! And most importantly, the loca... Read more

Friendly staff, excellent location - 5 mins walk to Grand Central terminal (station), if you like walking the Empire State, United Nations building and MOMA are all under 30 mins walk away. Quiet street, breakfast served each morning (included). This hotel does not have a restaurant or a fridge in the rooms. I am in NYC at least four times a year. I have stayed in the hip hotels such as the Soho Grand, The Mercer, 60 Thompson, or the Morgan which can easily average $500 per night. As much as i enjoy for instance the Soho Grand, i like to save on hotels when it is a shopping trip. I have stayed in similar budget/value hotels in the city, and most often something is not quite right. Whether it is the really really cheap decor, horrible A.C. or service, or just really small rooms like the Pod (Pod ... Read more

My husband is in NYC every other month for business. His office is on 44th and his company travel always wants to book him at a certain hotel nearby which is over priced and old. He prefers this Hampton and is always treated exceptionally by the staff. Won't stay anywhere else!

Lovely place to stay in midtown Manhattan. Staff very pleasant and helpful, every single one we met. Location was perfect. Time square and other attractions within 20 minutes walk or easy access via bus or subway. Lots of shops around open till late/early. Very comfortable beds!! Great sleep guaranteed. I would have liked a bit more variety with breakfast but that didn't take away from the experience. I would highly recommend it.

The front desk staff was very nice and the reservation was very flexible because i checked in really late ( 3am-4am) and the hotel is cool with that. However, the room smells and the room stank even more in the morning(after whole night of air conditioning)

This was the first time I have stayed in a Hampton Inn. This hotel is in a great location near Grand Central. What a lovely, professional reception and in housekeeping. I called back after checking out as I thought I lost something and they graciously went to look in the room right away. Thanks for a stay that exceeded expectations.

The bathroom sink smelled of sewage and the air conditioning blew moldy air which caused me to start coughing the next morning. Hotel staff did nothing about this and did not seem to care. There is alot of construction going on outside so it was very loud and hard to sleep. Breakfast was of poor quality.

This is the 2nd time I have stayed at this hotel, and my husband's first, and it did not disappoint. Only 2 blocks from Grand Central, it is in a perfect location to explore the entire city. The bed is comfortable, the bathroom is nice, and the staff is friendly. We were there during a conference at the United Nations, and the hotel was full of people from all around the world! I will be back in December!

From arrival till we checked out, this hotel was perfect for our overnight stay in the city. Very close to Grand Central. Customer service was very friendly from the time we checked in till we checked out. The hotel was very clean and not very noisy. Our room was small, just a bed - king size - couple night stands and a desk and closet. No problem moving around though. The bathroom was good, nice walk-in shower. Everything was very clean. My only complaint is not enough counter room in the bathr... Read more

We have stayed here in group during each of the UNGA since 2013. It is very convenient hotel for official and private visits. The rooms are clean with comfortable bed (a good refuge for jet lags). Free breakfast, 24 hour business center and 24 hour fitness center. The front desk staff is very friendly and welcoming. I would rate them "Excellent". I would definitely recommend it for stay.

I stay in the area 1-2/month for work and often stay in this Hampton Inn. The location is great (about 2 blocks from Grand Central station and from the UN building), surrounded by interesting restaraunts, and only one block off of 42nd so more quiet. But the real attraction is the staff. I've always found them pleasant, efficient and helpful. Breakfast is included. Expect solid, if not imaginative, hotel breakfast fare. My summary: this Hampton Inn is a real find!

Elizabeth's Staff Are Thoughtful, Courteous, Accommodating, and always insure a great stay at their Hampton Inn, our favorite due to location near Grand Central, as well as their incredible hospitality skills every time we have stayed there for the past 2 years. We are Hilton Honors Members for over 10 years as well as frequent travelers now that we are retired from nursing and teaching.

2nd visit in the past 18 months. Great choice, excellent location and free breakfast. Staff are good but tips are confusing on bag checks. The rooms are in need of a little makeover as things are beginning to look a little worn. On site parking is a bonus. I think the price is getting a little up there in the Summer as well.

I stayed here for one week for business. The hotel has medium sized rooms, which are modern and that meets all the needs of a business traveler. The hotel also provides breakfast in the morning. It's a basic breakfast, but meets all needs and with it being increasingly difficult to find a hotel in New York that also provides breakfast it's an added bonus. The hotel is near the UN, so a lot of the business travelers are attending meetings there.

The hotel was well located - we could walk from penn station to the hotel, walk to Grand central terminal, the zoo, shopping, Empire State bldg, ...the room was comfortable and clean - only draw backs (I) was from the construction noise next door to very late at night, (ii) free breakfast wasn't very good. Recommend walking down to "Pret a manage" for breakfast their selection is very fresh and healthy.

This hotel has a sign in the lobby stating that they are world famous. I am not sure if this is accurate or what makes them world famous. I am not giving a good or bad review- but I do offer some advice: *Please know that your room will be very small and that nothing will buffer the area close to the hallway door and your bed. If you are noise sensitive then this hotel might not be the best for you. *FEW rooms have mini-refrigerators so do not expect them. *WATCH YOUR BILL! We reserved ... Read more

Overall, a very good choice for anyone visiting New York City.Very close to Grand Central Terminal and away from the noise and crowds of Times Square. On the positive side, the reasonably sized room, overall cleanliness, and a very friendly and helpful staff. The main disappointment was breakfast, included in the room charge, where paper plates are used. Really ? Paper plates ? The reception desk is commendable - checking in on 10/21/16 early evening, Imelda was warmly welcoming, efficient and helpful, with information about the neighborhood. This morning, 10/23, Coretta took my IPhone and IPad and signed on to the Internett for me, since I had lost my connection. Busy , but smiling and assuring me that this was no trouble and she was happy to help. Imelda quicky took a package to hold at the desk as I left for an hour long walk, handing me a receipt for pickup. ... Read more
