The Hampton is a nice hotel - conveniently located and generally clean and aesthetically pleasing - but at $200+ per night, it's kind of disappointing for what they charge. Our experience was as follows: - Check-in is at 3pm; our rooms were still not ready by 5pm. - The wifi is very spotty and poor quality. (NB: My Verizon service in this part of the city was also pretty weak, so maybe this isn't their fault) - We were supposed to be on the 19th or 20th floor, but were instead placed on the 18t... We stayed at the Hampton Inn for three nights. We arrived around 4pm on a Friday and check-in was quick and easy. THE ROOM / HOTEL The room was clean and quiet. The bed and pillows were soft and comfortable. The bed felt a little small for us (2 people, full size bed), but we knew that beforehand, thus wasn't a shock. The bathroom was bright and clean, and the shower had good temp and water pressure. The TV had several HBO channels, although we didn't use it much as we were in NYC. We ate... Read more

This hotel was the first time we stayed at it. To our surprise and delight, it was clean, well decorated and friendly. The guests were also friendly and professional. We got a hot breakfast and 24 hour coffee, tea and cocoa. The rooms were clean and well decorated (not old fashioned). The rooms were not big but adequate for a couple with a big TV and a desk with a closet. The Chelsea district was quite nice and it was close enough to walk to other sites.

This is my hotel of choice when staying in the city with my car. They have a valet which isn't any more expensive than parking your car in one of the city's garages would be. This makes it as easy as pulling your car up in front of the hotel, offloading your luggage and handing them your keys! Theyll also hold your luggage the day you check out so you can finish up whatever you're doing in the city. The service is great and friendly and a "city view" room gets you a gorgeous view from your windo... Read more

This hotel is in a great location in Chelsea section of Manhattan. Easy walk to fashion district and Times Square. The room was pretty good size considering closets I have stayed in while in the city. Wonderful competent staff and coffee 24/7. Issues were minor yet caused big inconvenience such as one elevator (of 2) broken most of the stay which forced me to get exercise walking up and down 8 flights several times. The facility, location, and staff were fine and I would have recommended them again for a stay...had it not been for the way our situation was handled following the Chelsea explosion this past weekend. Due to the close proximity of the explosion to the hotel, we were unable to get into the hotel Saturday night because the entire street was closed off by law enforcement. We were completely misplaced that evening. When I had a dis... Read more

At 2:10am or so, I was awakened when someone opened our door and light streamed in from the hallway. The upper deadbolt latch held the door from opening more than a few inches thankfully. I charged the door screaming to get out and was able to get it closed. Hotel response was dismal. Two calls that night to the front desk didn't get much of a rise. In the morning it wasn't much better. The fact is that someone else had a key card that opened our door and the staff would not admit to a problem. ... Read more

The rooms are small but have everything needed. The desk staff was wonderful, particularly Jalinda, and Alena (Mgr). We had a city view upgrade which really added to the NYC experience. Great location...near several subway stations, and Chelsea restaurants and bars. A mile or less to Empire Stat Bldg, West Village, and the Hudson River. This is the 10th time or so that I've stayed at the Hampton In Chelsea. Great location. Wonderful staff. Rooms are clean and well appointed. My room on this last visit lacked some of the amenities I've had in the past, but was clean and well-maintained.

We flew to NYC for a wedding in early October 2016 and booked the Hampton Chelsea. We want to acknowledge the front desk staff who were friendly and helpful especially with directions around Manhattan. They even helped us find a few Spanish tapas restaurants within walking distance and on another time flagged down a cab for us when Uber didn't work out. Room 1903 was extremely spacious for a NYC hotel with two queen beds made up with white duvet and extra pillows, a city view, large flatscreen... Read more

Checked in Tuesday night and was greeted by two smiling and friendly front desk staff. They asked if my kids wanted keys too which I thought was sweet. We were treated well and directed to the room with coffee, hot chocolate etc. Our room was spotless and beds were comfy. The complimentary breakfast was great with so many options to choose from! The breakfast staff was so friendly fly and they replenished everything quickly. We loved our short stay. :)

We chose this hotel for two reasons, the location and the fact the reservations included breakfast. The hotel desk clerks were very welcoming and always willing to give advice on places to visit and eat. The room was quite large for New York City, kept spotless every day, and even though it was on the front of the building very quiet. It was so nice to know that anytime you came back to the hotel a hot drink was available. The location was between 6th and 7th Avenues and perfect for all the ... Read more

I was in NY on business and stayed here for four nights. I chose the hotel due to it being close to my company's location. Breakfast was pretty good with a little something different each morning. The hotel is a little ways from many of the tourist spots such as Times Square and Central park so probably not the best location if you are in town siteseeing. Room was small but very clean. Price seemed a little high but it was my first time staying in Manhattan so I can't speak to the value. Many go... Read more

Stayed here 2 nights for business. Chose it because it was the lowest (at $369/night!) in the area during a very peak time for NYC. Location: In the chelsea area, so not much of a tourist area (good!) but perfect for those on business and walkable to Union Square area and subways. On a side street. There is a great cafe at the corner which is perfect for breakfast. Rooms: Actually pretty big for NYC which are typically closet size. Bed was comfy and bathroom got the job done. Very very cle... Great location for my conference. Hotel adequate. Staff were friendly and helpful. Easy access to 6th avenue and midtown. I had a door that did not fit the frame that felt unsafe. The space between the frame and the door was big enough for me to see out and for people to see in when it was shut and locked. I reported the problem and they said they would look into it.

It's not often that I have an experience so great I feel compelled to leave a review. But we had such a great experience here that I wanted to share. Had stayed at a more expensive, much larger hotel (same flag) for a conference before moving here. This hotel is 100x better. It is updated, clean, the staff is friendly, easy to navigate and perfectly located. Just make sure not to get a room right by the ice machine if you plan to spend any time in your room between 9AM and 9 PM. Yikes!

My wife and I stayed here for a getaway weekend to see a Broadway show and meet up with some friends in the West Village area. The area was convenient to both, without all the crowds of Midtown/Times Square. I was able to run to the High Line easily from here and continue on along the Hudson greenway for a long while. I'd definitely stay in this neighborhood again and consider this hotel. Complimentary breakfast was a plus.

My room was surprisingly spacious for this category of hotel in New York City, clean, Ikea style but attractive furnishings, an extremely comfortable bed. Nearby doors opening and closing were a bit noisy, however the double paned windows kept out street noise most effectively. It's conveniently located near two different subway stops. Whole Foods, drugstores, liquor stores all down the street.

Stayed 5 nights at this hotel last week for our first trip to NYC. It has a great location near every subway line so you can get about very quick. Rooms spacious and comfy. Only downfall was breakfast some days it did take a while for things to be restocked so you had to hang about to get something hot occasionally. Other than that I would have no issues staying here again.
