"Room was very hot. Heat lines/hot water lines ran up enclosed space in room, which made it very hot. Every with all windows open (only opened up 4') it was still hot. Had to run AC to cool down. Bath did not drain properly, so we were standing in 3' of water while showering. Very comfortable mattress."

"My friend and I stayed 3 nights at the Excelsior Hotel in NYC and loved the location and the hotel. It has a very classy, though small, lobby, and great staff to help make your trip to the city easier. Being a half a block from Central Park and Museum of Nat'l History puts you in a nice neighorhood and we enjoyed the small delis and restaurants in the neighborhood. As women, we really felt safe walking after dark, to get pizza or whatever. Our room was nicely done and had all the amenities we needed, including a small safe. No coffee though. (A Starbuck's is half a block away)"

"The Excelsior's location and quality facility were the best reasons we enjoyed our trip to NYC. It was a short walk through Central Park to get to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, it was across the street from the Museum of Science and Natural History, it was a short walk to Big Nick's Diner, one of the best diners in NYC, and it was only about a $10.00 cab ride to the port our cruise ship departed. Finally, the facility was beautiful and the staff was outstanding. For anyone visiting NYC, or for anyone taking a cruise out of the port at 12th at 55th, I strongly recommend this hotel."

"We got a deal on this hotel via internet for Aug. 2010, but were not prepared for the deal we actually got. This hotel has spoiled us, now we are planning another trip, but can't find the same deal. Pretty expensive, but we are thinking about spending the extra just to stay here again. So quiet, clean, great location, nothing bad to say. I am so picky and I even walked on the carpet with bare feet. Amazing!"
